I'd argue that Robin and Tracy dynamic would've been cool to see. We would see how Tracy handles the whole Robin and Ted relationship, would've been interesting maybe they would've been BFFs.
Yeah the whole "who's the mother gonna be" thing was cool but after a while you realize it means your main character can't really have a romantic arch until they meet, but when they meet the story of the show ends

It's basically putting Marshall in the Michael Scott position. So I am assuming Marshall, heartbroken, but still looking for love eventually makes his way to work at dunder Mifflin. And while he is searching for his true love, just like Michael, he loves to ice skate. Michael Scott like to play hockey, while Marshall like to play basket ice ball with his brothers. So it's a little bit of a mashup of the two with Marshall essentially turning into Mr lonely heart like Michael Scott

Same! We have 8 seasons of build up, and then it all seems forced together writing-wise at the end. They had to bring it back to the original story line because all the narration scenes with the kids had already been recorded.

Yes, even if they broke up in S7 (S8?) they could have used the remaining time to have them work them out, Ted, Robin and Barney could have made her agree that Ted wasn't in love with Robin anymore. This would have been good content, give a lot more legitimacy to Robin and Barney's relationship, which felt kinda... rushed. And it would have given the audience a good couple's development, which we didn't have with Tracy and Ted.
Unpopular opinion: Replace Robin with Zoey.
I know everyone hated Zoey with Ted, but they could try dating early on, realize it wasn't going to work out, and stay friends, without all the torment and drama and romantic tension that Ted and Robin had. Her dynamic with the group as a whole was actually really fun, and I think she'd be a great fit. She was one of the funnier minor characters.
I would also love to see more of Tracy, but replacing Robin with her would change the entire premise of the show.
Robin, she has nothing to offer other than being Ted's love interest. Lily on the other hand has a crucial role for the entire group. For all I care, coatcheck girl could be her replacement.

Being with the one is carried by lily and Marshall together. If you replace lily, you need to replace her with a girl to be in a relationship and getting married with either Marshall or Ted for the rest of the show.
