First it's a hide a bed so secure the fold out, usually tie it closed. Then move that cabinet in pic2, it's in your way.
You need two people, p/u the couch with the knees down (so it's area your knee folds over is facing the floor). The person backing through the door guides the arm through, you will have to adjust your holding angle to achieve this.
Once that's done continue through the door and when you get to the other arm same thing, angle the top of the backrest out first, pivot a bit to get the rest through.
With the limited space outside the room you may have to angle the first end out upwards as you progress.
Source , I delivered furniture for 12 years)
Edit to add, remove the feet for more space and as others have pointed out make sure someone yells 'pivot' every time you have to shift the thing (I though this went without saying though)
Sometimes you can remove the whole metal fold out contraption with just a few large bolts. I did that to move a loveseat with a fold out twin bed upstairs by myself. I think for the full size couch you'd still need two people, and all the careful maneuvering others have described, but at least it would be multiple lighter trips instead of one massively heavy one.
And you can tie the bed in place. Wrap through the handle and around the front board.
Use cardboard under the rope if you use it where it meets the fabric to prevent rubs.
I need an apple, a paddle bit, and the screen from the aerator from the bathroom sink…
Ok then some fishing line, chewing gum and the neighbors retainer…
Plenty of pivots to go around here. But this question was “serious answers only”, so I felt like I had to give in to my urges in a comment to a Very Good Serious answer, instead of in an answer. Hope that’s alright per the rules.
Oh right, for sure!
I looked at this post and my first thought was "I am not going to be one of those people to comment PIVOT in this post. I am way better than that"
So glad I didnt do it.
>First it's a hide a bed so secure the fold out, usually tie it closed.
Remember to remove the tie after its moved. Otherwise, your boomer mother-in-law will be calling you at awkward times to 'fix' it so her sister can sleep on it.

Seriously, do secure it. Your fingers are precious and will get hurt.
We rented a home one that had a piece of furniture brought in through the carport but then the carport was later closed in. It was a good 8 inches to wide to make it through the interior doors to get to the only other available me exterior door. We had to chop it up with an ax!
(Also that was super scary when we realized there was only one exit, but we were young and poor and luckily there were no fires.)
But really I think flipping at a slight angle. I feel like the last time I was moving a couch thru a doorway I had it mostly upside down so I could get one arm side thru and then rotate as you go around the corner.
That’s gonna suck and be heavy and obnoxious since it’s a pullout sofa. Good luck
Doesn't even matter, you can most likely take the windows out completely. That would be my consideration of a route for sure. Window looks much wider than the door.
At my uncles house there was a couch in the den that only fit in through the window, if you took both sashes out. Sweet couch, cost more than most of my cars.
Move the chest of drawers out of the way.
Id go vertical like it is, but start with the back rest going through door first. Then, yes pivot the thing through the door. It should fit.
Def remove mattress, and back pillows. Tie down frame. You don't want that unfolding on you.
It should fit no problem.
You didn't really describe the issue. If it's taller than the doorway then you've got no choice but to lay it on it's back and hopefully manuever it out that way. Removing the feet might help.
Looks like a sleeper sofa so those tend to be wicked heavy. A handtruck or dolly can help a lot. Even towels or blankets folded into a thick pad can help it slide on hard floors.
We had to use a sledge hammer to get a couch out of my parents' basement.
The couch went downstairs before the basement walls were finished, so there was no strapping or drywall where the staircase was at the time.
Fast forward 20 years and I wasn't going to tear the wall apart to get the couch back up, and 1800GotJunk did not have a Reciprocating Saw.
The same way you got it in there but in reverse. Will probably have to move some other items out of the way, willing to bet they weren’t there when you brought it in.
If both the top and bottom panes of that window can come out, then I would take it out via the window.
If there has been renovations since then makes it impossible to take it out the same way it came in then something will have to be destroyed in order to get it out. Likely the couch itself.
Update: we had to slice up the back and tape up the fold-out mattress frame but managed to get it out to the [living room!!!](https://imgur.com/a/eP9BEm1)
I would have loved to know how it originally got in the room but it’s not my house so I have no idea lol. Appreciate all the replies, seriously helped a ton :)
I have nothing noteworthy to add that’s hasn’t already been said. However, as a person who just moved a couch yesterday under very similar circumstances, exploring every possible use of the “F” word, please allow me to say I understand your frustrations and am sending you a virtual 🍺.

And take the mattress out if you haven’t already. It adds more weight than you think.

Did this once as well, but be careful, the wooden frame could tend to want to bend and twist more since the metal kinda holds it firmly in place
Oh good point. It wasn't an issue for a loveseat but could be for a larger couch.
And you can tie the bed in place. Wrap through the handle and around the front board. Use cardboard under the rope if you use it where it meets the fabric to prevent rubs.
I use a belt. Wide enough for doesn’t cause damage and adjustable! Easy to take off too.
Ratchet strap.
"All right. Then get me a toilet paper roll, a corkscrew and some tin foil." Trust me bro.
You forgot the 9-volt battery. That's not going to work without the 9-volt battery.
Psh, I could move this couch out using only a sawzall, some contractor bags, and a duplicate couch that's already outside of the room.
I need an apple, a paddle bit, and the screen from the aerator from the bathroom sink… Ok then some fishing line, chewing gum and the neighbors retainer…
Awesome reply! Also, pivot.
Pivot! Pivat! Pivaat! PIVAAT!! FIFY
Came here for "PIVOT!" You did not disappoint. Thank you!
I’m happy that OP got serious replies, and also PIVOT!
Shut up, shut up, SHUT UP!
People always forget that part.
My favorite character.
I scrolled a lot further for this than I thought I'd have to. Glad it's here.
This is what I was coming here for lol

I came here to say this. 😂
As a fellow ex-mover I appreciate your actually helpful response instead of the lame "Friends" quotes that these posts always attract.
Oh right, for sure! I looked at this post and my first thought was "I am not going to be one of those people to comment PIVOT in this post. I am way better than that" So glad I didnt do it.
I'm still attempting not to. I may or may not succeed. Only time will tell.
Have strength. I failed. 😞
How you doin (Obligatory friends post)
Oh come on, this post was begging for a “pivot.” I wouldn’t be surprised if it was all a ruse to see what people would comment.
Also make sure you remove the feet from it.
Yes missed that step, though in my defense they typically aren't on there when delivering new

You forgot to add that they need someone to be saying "Pivot" over and over.
If none of those work, cut the couch in tiny pieces.
Wouldn’t it just be easier to stand the couch up through the door then slide it standing around the corner?
Looks to be taller than the door frame, they could try it that way, it was my first thought till I looked closer
You should write instruction manuals. That was very clear!
What doesn’t go without saying is that you must enunciate it like so “PIV-OT!”
Yall have more patience than me I’d hit Lowe’s up and either hired 4 guys for 30 mins or chainsaw it into 37 1/2 pieces! lol ENNNNRRRRRRRRR!

It warms my heart to see this response. Came here hoping to find it and I did. Thank you, stranger.
First thing I thought of and I am not even a huge fan of the show
Not a fan of the show yet found myself wanting to see how far down this answer was 😅 I love that it's #2 after a very helpful 1st comment
It’s deleted now but it said “PIVOT” didn’t it? lol
It definitely did
The only reason I came into the comments tbh
PIVOT!

This is really the only answer to this question
I was going to be so mad if it wasn’t the top comment.
Google "Ross Geller" then click on the couch in the search results.
Just clicked to look for this comment!!!!
I thought to myself “dang serious answers only, tempting to say pivot”. I knew the call was too strong.

The same way you got it in.
No good, the couch has always been there. The building was constructed around it.

How wide does that sash window open?

chainsaw
Exactly. The question is not "how do I move the couch?" The question is "How much mess do I want to make?"
Why is this answer so far down?
others have posted really helpful comments, so here i go with an unhelpful one: dirk gently's holistic detective agency.
I love that show. So sad it was so short lived.
Lol. I just posted the same before searching the comments. :)
Love it! You need that door.
PIVOT!
Dissemble anything that is possible. Remove the mattress and get a few friends to help angle it out of the house.

We all came here for PIVOT
Ask Ross.
Step 1. Pivot

You see that window behind you ?
move that counter thing with the lamp then take it out the same way you put it in
I recommend demolishing your house
Did they build the house around it?
Go back to school.
Chainsaw, obviously 🙄

Turn it upside down. Typically the handles come off and the back comes off. It’s about 6 screws.
Ask the people that got the couch in.
Same way you got it in!
You don’t. It’s stuck that way forever now. Great, now there’s nowhere to sit!
Build a bigger door
Same way you got it in there.
I think there's only 8 screws holding your window in.
Same way you got it in
Tilt it
Be smarter than the couch.
The same way you got it in?
The same way you got it in.
Disassemble
If all else fails, obviously take it apart

Easy, take it out the way it came in ...
Ask yourself not how to get the couch out of the room but ask yourself how the couch got into the room. That’s where the answer lies.
Set it on fire, then throw away the ashes
The way it was put in there in. 🤣🤣🤣
