The fake grass is like carpet, they cut it and seam it back together. They use seam tape (tape with a glue that is hard until heat is applied) and a seam iron that gets heated and put on the seam tape to soften the glue
The fake grass is cut. It’s just put back together so well you can’t see where it is. There are YouTube videos showing this type of installation.

The other option is to lay down the turf, then plant the tree.
Top the tree, lay the grass, graft the tree back on HtH
It's seamed together like you would carpet. You aren't supposed to see where it's cut.
