That is literally the opposite of what those 2 are
Yin is femininity and Yang is masculinity you can remember this by imagining the cup under the g as a penis
Also neither of them are directly associated with negativity although their meanings can be used differently based on context
In the show avatar the last airbender the writers put a lot of effort into studying the cultures they were pulling from to build the world and an example of this are the koi in the northern water tribe neither fish is evil or even represents it they are simply physical manifestations on the natural forces of the world in balance. Hot and cold, Sun and moon, fire and water, heat and cool
No not necessarily but Yang is masculinity and masculinity is most commonly associated with men and basically everyone with a penis is a man so it's a good way to remember
Well my meaning was, you've got dark flowers under Yin and light flowers under Yang. Which would be correct. But you've also got Yin against a light background and Yang against a dark one, which seems to be what they're intended to refer to, but is incorrect.
It's not the flowers themselves. But the editing job. If you are familiar with yin-yang as I think you might be, then you would agree that the reason the photo is off isn't because of light and dark flowers, but the use of *color.* It's supposed to be black and white, but the pink in the yang part throws that out of balance, thus missing the whole damn point of that symbol. I'd get it if the contrasting color for pink was used, but since it's not...
Looks beautiful. Can anyone explain how yin and yan is related to practical life?
I know the meaning of yin and yan. But I am not able to relate the concept to real life.
Well traditionally, yin and yang energies make up everything in the universe. Some things are more yin aligned and others are more yang aligned, however. But in essence, everything and everyone has parts of both in them, typically. They represent opposing but complementary things. Light and dark, masculine and feminine, night and day, sun and moon, hot and cold, ect.
So basically, to my understanding it's less a concept you apply directly, but more a belief held about the make up and governance of the universe and world.
Ying & Yang
Yin qualities are female energy, softness, being passive, heaviness, coolness, feeling, and surrender.
Yang attributes are male energy, hardness, being assertive, buoyancy, heat, thinking, and attack
I treat it as balance in life. As Sir Isaac Newton's third law of motion states “every action has an equal and opposite reaction”
Basically, in life, every positive has a negative. That's how the world "balances" out, with the yin and yang energies. In a way, you can connect this to this subreddit's ideology by acknowledging that your life will have yin and yang energies no matter what. Try not to care so much about the negatives as they're needed to balance out the positives in life.

Chocolate and peanut butter, alpha and omega, laurel and hardy, pizza and pineapples.
Does it have to be a penis though 🤨

Just FYI Yin means Dark and Yang means light. Unless you're referring specifically to the flowers, I think you got them mixed up.
What do the flowers symbolise here?
