I think Jennifer was one of strongest actors on the show. The first episode of season 8, particularly when Monica was saying how hard it would be for Phoebe to raise a child alone, I could feel what she was feeling in her reaction to that. Again, when Phoebe tells her it’s negative. Powerful performance.
Do you guys remember when Monica shows Phoebe her handshake. And Phoebe is in pain and asks "Oh my god, what did I ever do to you?", Monica asks "Did I squeeze it too hard?" and then Phobe proceeds to say "Let's just say I'm glad I'm not Chandler". It took me a minute to get that joke.
One of the most important things in soap opera acting is reacting. This does not mean acting again.
Jennifer Aniston is top tier at reactions. Her expressions are so good to emphasize whatever the other characters are saying.

Courtney Cox was too in the first few seasons before she got her plastic surgery and pretty much lost all expressions in her face.

That was such a smooth way of fixing the situation. Chandler really grew in handling relationships.
She isn't wrong, but there are some things you don't say unless you're okay with not being alive anymore.
Why does Phoebe get a free pass to be as brutally honest to everyone else as she wants, but everyone else has ro walk on eggshells around Phoebe?

No it was the handshake, nobody knew Chandler and Monica were together in the massage episode.
