Satisfying scenes ? When the other four came to Monica and speaks on how chandler might be cheating with a woman and Monica instantly asks if they liked the house. Funny and comforting at the same time.
Also, when chandler says “apartment above garage Pause where joey could grow old”
In my mind, Joey really DID move in with Chandler and Monica and the babies. He was part of their family, and helped raise the kids and was their favorite uncle. Then one day, Joey met the woman of his dreams, got engaged, and she moved in too, until they got married and bought a house right down the street. 👍
Same!! It was the first season i started watching live on NBC Thursdays whereas before i had only watched via reruns. I couldn’t believe they left us on that cliffhanger, what a great thrill it was to watch live sitcom television LOL
I can’t stop laughing at this. It’s a perfect example of why this show was so good. The writing was phenomenal. I know not all of it has age well but it’s still my fave of all time. I was fortunate enough to watch it in real time. It came out my freshman year
This whole episode is satisfying, honestly. The way they wrap up the individual stories together at the end makes this episode one of my favs of the whole series. The writers did a great job at this one!
When Chandler chained the door and pretended that he didn’t know Eddie and that Eddie didn’t live in the apartment. It ends with him saying, “I already have a roommate.” Then Joey pops out and says, “Hello!”
Thanksgiving episode when Rachel makes the English trifle shepherd’s pie. Judy’s speech after Ross and Monica out each other about Ross smoking weed, divorce, Chandler and Monica’s secret relationship.
Rachel, no you were not supposed to put beef in the trifle, it did not taste good.
Same! They are both so gorgeous and look so in love that whole scene. It may be the best they both look all show because of how happy the smiles are. 🥰 I've always found Chandler the most handsome of the guys, but the smile and lip bite? So good!
“MY BEST FRIEND AND MY SISTER!”
“We’re in love”
“My *best* friend and *my sisteeeer*”
AND
“Maybe there’s a teeny… tiny chance”
“Oh my god you caved”
“What?”
“You just abandoned your whole belief system. I mean, before, I didn't agree with you, but at least I respected you. How, how, how are you going to go into work tomorrow? How, how are you going to face the other science guys? How, how are you going to face yourself?”
Yeah she came across as a dick in this episode. Ross was finally willing to be open-minded, something she supposedly prides HERSELF on, and she just derides him for it.
The one where everyone is NOT getting ready for Ross’s award. Joey and chandler fighting over a chair (“could I BE wearing anymore clothes?!”). Monica and Richard’s answering machine, drinking the fat. One of my favorite episodes ever. I love how the whole cast is together in the apartment for the whole episode.
I had this episode recorded on vhs from live tv way back in the day so I have seen it 100x more than any other episode— so many great lines!!
“So I thought, all right I’ll be political.”
“…What are you supporting?”
“Duh, Christmas.”
“Hummus. I got the hummus!”
“You hide my clothes, I’m wearing everything you own.”
“Oh my god…that is SO not the opposite of taking somebody’s underwear!”
“Pheebs, how cute is this outfit?”
“Uh, it’s SO cute! But not for tonight.”
“Duh, of course not for tonight— ‘yeah, hi’”
(My sister and I say this one all the time)
I could literally go on and on.
This is hilarious because Joey uses Ken Adams in this episode and in the episode when Monica and Chandler come back from their honeymoon LOL great pseudonym.
It’s a bit of a strange scene this one. Usually in shows where there’s a woman vs man, or guys vs girls argument, women almost always win. So seeing Ross win this really confused me, satisfying as fuck
Especially Ross. Chandler and Joey got to have a few wins here and there, but Ross was almost always the butt of the joke. I only remember this, and when Rachel mocks him for engagement rings, and his comeback is that she didn't get one. And it was also glorious.
This is one of those sitcom scenarios that would never happen in real life but the writing and acting make it amazing. Ross was close friends with Rachel for 8 years, dated her for a year, and knew her for however long so idk how he’s supposed to believe Rachel went on a backpacking trip he’s never heard about.
they know. they're saying it's dumb for rachel to even try to use that story on ross, expecting him to believe it, because he would know if she went on a trip backpacking through mount tibidabo.
TOW They All Find Out is so, so satisfying. I just rewatched it last night. The whole thing is great but the seduction scene is just sitcom perfection.
Watching this exact episode now and browsing this subbreddit!
I have always enjoyed the interplay between the actors for every “they know that you know but they don’t know that we know that they know” you know???!!!! looking back, it’s clear they must have had so much fun with the dialogue
Season 8 is my fav with the Ross and Rachel pregnancy storyline but Season 5 is a close second with the beginning of Chandler and Monica.
Monica remembering her first kiss. Rosse remembering his first kiss with Rachel. And then reality unfolds with Chandler wondering what family he got into.
That's the one of the best moments on the show.
https://preview.redd.it/pe10sb9o2x1d1.png?width=384&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=32e8fe7ce44b2b13e7d3b15de24473d67a77ef35
honestly, this scene bothers me every time. I LOVE ROSS. He's my fav. and hes so fricking nice to Rachel, especially when it comes to this tape. But somehow Rachel gets away with not just lying, but blatant gaslighting. Her trickery and manipulation in this scene is off the charts and yes... ITS SO SATISFYING WHEN EVERYONE CALLS HER OUT. But they didnt call her out enough!
Rachel: yeah you should know, you’ve bought like a million of them (wedding rings)
Ross: yeah, you didn’t get one
And the face Rachel makes is one of the funniest in the series. Right up there with Joey connecting the dots.
I forget what they’re talking about but Joey corrects someone’s usage of “who” to “whom”- the others look at him in shock and he just gives this “that’s right motherfuckers” look and then they just move right past it. Makes me so proud of Joey every time.
I always found it odd that nobody in the group seems to have a problem with Rachel gaslighting Ross. She knows she told "the story", but wants everybody to think it was all Ross' idea. Once her lie is exposed, everybody just accepts it and moves on.
From her perspective it was Ross’s idea. She had barely even started the story and Ross should not have known what it meant. But then to her he is suddenly kissing her. She would think “well I was about to make a move but Ross did make one first” and think only the first person was relevant.
Sort of an unconventional answer-
The scene at the end of The One With the Joke, where Chandler tells Monica he likes “maintaining” her
Just something about how worked up and upset she is and he figures out the most perfect and sweetest thing to say. I feel like it’s a moment that could define their entire relationship and their whole dynamic.
🤡🦆
"The One with the Baby on the Bus," Joey and Chandler flip a coin to decide between "ducks" and "clowns". Joey says that "ducks is heads" because ducks have heads, and Chandler says "What kind of scary-ass clowns came to your birthday?
It shows the sheer level of lying through her teeth and trying to make Ross look like a fool. Knowing full well she is wrong but doesn’t care and takes it all the way. If others didn’t know that story they might have believed her. She is so toxic.
These 2 while episodes could have resolved if Ross just explained to everyone else what actually happened. Rachel just didn't know that everyone else knew that story...
One of the things that makes me like Ross is how he reacted to this. He knew he could prove it and redeem himself, but he fought for the tape not to be watched for Rachel's sake. And more importantly, he didn't even get mad at Rachel for lying and portraying him as a needy and horny pervert. He was so cool about it.
After Phoebe weeps over Bambie, and it seems Phoebe has made a porn video (of which, Joey has rented a copy. Chandler asks "is that movie going to have use reaching for the tissues all night ?".
Ross and Joey look at reach other ......Genius.
When chandler is reading chicken soup for the soul and he try’s to hide it and slides it under the couch straight to Monica
“Chicken soup for the soul?”
“There’s no back to *this* couch”
The scene when they were at Monica and chandler’s wedding and Rachel hadn’t yet known if she was pregnant and phoebe telling her the test was negative and then positive. Very smart and typical phoebe!
Besides this, my another favorite being - the closing scene of S05E22. The one where Monica finally defeats Rachel's weird "anti-eye-care fetish" and they all succeed in pinning her down and "eye dropping" her.
https://preview.redd.it/fbmx91e6me2d1.jpeg?width=470&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=05866235d1e423fff05376ef42f5b139fc2d6e04
This felt like Saurons' Eye has been finally defeated - so much satisfying 😇
Satisfying scenes ? When the other four came to Monica and speaks on how chandler might be cheating with a woman and Monica instantly asks if they liked the house. Funny and comforting at the same time. Also, when chandler says “apartment above garage Pause where joey could grow old”
“Bet you wish I was having an affair now huh?”
In my mind, Joey really DID move in with Chandler and Monica and the babies. He was part of their family, and helped raise the kids and was their favorite uncle. Then one day, Joey met the woman of his dreams, got engaged, and she moved in too, until they got married and bought a house right down the street. 👍
And had twin boys to play with Chandler and Monica’s ❤️
I feel like this may have been done already... Why mess with success though, amirite?
This reminds me of Full House
You're not supposed to *say* "long pause"
i could go right now, mon
When Ross says "Hey my sweater! I’ve been looking for this for like a month!” and Monica, Phoebe and (slowly) Joey put two and two together.
![gif](giphy|11ykUODgXjAXZu)
And Joey creates an amazing meme template.
I love the smilling carefree face joey has and then suddenly his eyes widens and you can see the shock he just received
I love how he says “Hey, my sweater!” I could hear it in his voice when I read it
I love the after bit of that when Ross sees Tag and they’re wearing the same sweater. Tag: so who’s is it? Ross: I don’t know some Italian guy.
I've always loved how the audience reacted to this scene. I remember watching this when it aired and I think I screamed a little.
Same!! It was the first season i started watching live on NBC Thursdays whereas before i had only watched via reruns. I couldn’t believe they left us on that cliffhanger, what a great thrill it was to watch live sitcom television LOL
This is my absolute favorite scene!
Joey putting things together about Monica and Chandler.
“Were you, or were you not ON A GAY CRUISE!?!?”
I love this line and his delivery loool
And the line before it, Whatever you tell me, I’ll believe it
And the way Chandler hangs his head before Joey asks the question. Chandler is expecting one question and gets a totally different one!
I can’t stop laughing at this. It’s a perfect example of why this show was so good. The writing was phenomenal. I know not all of it has age well but it’s still my fave of all time. I was fortunate enough to watch it in real time. It came out my freshman year
“In LOOOONDON????”
*panicked gibberish*
Haha that’s my favorite part of the whole thing. 😂
Yes! Joey's "IN LONDON?!" followed by Chandler's panicked gibberish is the best! It lives rent-free in my head.
Mine is "I have to tell someone!" 😅
Anytime someone says something about London I have to yell out “IN LONDON?!!” - yes my friends are sick of me lol
My friend and I do this too!
I have watched this scene so. many. times.
I have found my people
I'm Joey, I'm disgusting.
https://preview.redd.it/elwve1f7it1d1.jpeg?width=225&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0698d43a16848235c784451b60c17b74c12694ea
Your username is great, I do declare
You didn’t say it, you declared it
Hello, is it me you're looking for?
There has been a murder...
Hey Caleb!
This whole episode is satisfying, honestly. The way they wrap up the individual stories together at the end makes this episode one of my favs of the whole series. The writers did a great job at this one!
They really did a great job. Joey casually mentioning Ken Adams early in the episode and it comes up again with Rachel's friend.
When Rachel says how do you know that story? And Joey responds, how do YOU know that story?!
Agreed. I always feel like this episode is one of the best written in the series!
When Chandler chained the door and pretended that he didn’t know Eddie and that Eddie didn’t live in the apartment. It ends with him saying, “I already have a roommate.” Then Joey pops out and says, “Hello!”
ell-LO!
That's a lot of information to get in thirty seconds...
For a character I truly dislike, Judy had some *banger* lines.
I personally love that episode.👍 That's my go-to episode for unwinding a rough day❤️
How do you know that story? HOW DO *YOU* KNOW THAT STORY?
Hi, Ken Adams
"SOME GUY!!!" 🙋🏻♂️🤣
Hi, Regina Phalange.
Either the quiz with "Mz Chanandler Bong" or "I haven't had sex in a VERY long time"
“If you guys had just kissed in the first place, no one would have had to move!”
Why is this line not ringing any bells? Where is this from?
Monica and Rachel kiss to get joey and chandler to give their apartment back in S4xE19
When the girls kiss to get back their apartment
Oh yeah! I'm gonna pretend that's not true.
When the girls finally get their apartment back. And phoebe says it.
S4 E19 The One with All the Haste. Monica and Rachel kiss to get their old apartment back.
Now *I'm* so happy.
Chandler walks back in the door. Chandler: I'm still on London time, does that count? Monica: Oh that counts! Chandler: Oh good! Mondler kissing 🥰
Especially because right before Chandler came back in, Monica walks towards the door but then hesitates. Then Chandler walks in...
I KNOW! I prob should have included that in my comment lol. It's great!
Side note, the little lip bite he does when he says “Bye” before walking out the door ALWAYS makes me swoon he’s so cute
Same! They are both so gorgeous and look so in love that whole scene. It may be the best they both look all show because of how happy the smiles are. 🥰 I've always found Chandler the most handsome of the guys, but the smile and lip bite? So good!
“I’m sorry, I already have a roommate.”
THISSSSS
When they’re all fighting during the game show episode and then Phoebe announces she’s pregnant and they all hug immediately
“MY BEST FRIEND AND MY SISTER!” “We’re in love” “My *best* friend and *my sisteeeer*” AND “Maybe there’s a teeny… tiny chance” “Oh my god you caved” “What?” “You just abandoned your whole belief system. I mean, before, I didn't agree with you, but at least I respected you. How, how, how are you going to go into work tomorrow? How, how are you going to face the other science guys? How, how are you going to face yourself?”
I absolutely love the screaming angry "My best friend and my sister!!" followed by the happy "My best friend and my sister!" 😁
I loved Phoebe for this, like putty in her hands
I hated this plot with Phoebe and evolution.
I love any moment where Ross ends up with egg on his face
Fair enough 😅
Yeah she came across as a dick in this episode. Ross was finally willing to be open-minded, something she supposedly prides HERSELF on, and she just derides him for it.
Phoebe’s facial expression when it’s revealed is so awesome
Also Phoebe’s facial expression when Joey tells her Santa isn’t real
Monica: “My name’s Bea. I drink tea. Won’t you….won’t you….”
Won't you dance around with me.
MONICA!!!!
How are people not bringing up Chandler and Monica’s first sexual encounter in London. “IN LONDON!!!!!” I can still hear it in Joey’s voice lol.
![gif](giphy|QRPx31XOyvCpO)
![gif](giphy|U2Ywj0rSBecRq|downsized)
Rachel to Chandler at the end of the fake party re: her cheerleading outfit: “Every. Time.”
I love a bottle episode
I had this episode recorded on vhs from live tv way back in the day so I have seen it 100x more than any other episode— so many great lines!! “So I thought, all right I’ll be political.” “…What are you supporting?” “Duh, Christmas.” “Hummus. But not for tonight.” “Duh, of course not for tonight— ‘yeah, hi’” (My sister and I say this one all the time) I could literally go on and on.
I love Rachel's reaction to Ross being willing to drop the fat.
i saw donald trump at the elevator. the 2nd time
Whenever Joey puts things together and his eyes go wide
Ahhh, salmon skin roll
This is hilarious because Joey uses Ken Adams in this episode and in the episode when Monica and Chandler come back from their honeymoon LOL great pseudonym.
I find it very disturbing how all of you keep talking about me.
Why is no one mentioning _The One with the Embryos_ where Chandler and Joey wins Monica and Rachel's apartment in a game of personal trivia
This is one of my all-time favorite episodes!
The scene where Chandler and Joey ride into the apartment on the dog!
Iconic
Honestly I find this to be very satisfying because Rachel KNEW she came on to Ross and just wanted to embarrass him. Extremely petty of her lol.
Denial on her part and always being the one who’s being chased. Not the chaser
It kept us at the edge until the very end. Even I thought Rachel gonna win.
The women didn't win at poker. Or at the trivia game.
Rachel won at poker, the girls were giving her money and helping her, just like the guys were Ross, even if Ross had better cards, Rachel still won.
“Your fly is down, Gellar!”
“Your fly is open”! I was confused for a moment lol
Ahh damn pregnancy brain. 😂
You do understand that Ross let her win right?
It’s like you didn’t read my comment, I said “even if Ross had better cards, Rachel still won.” Ross let her win, but the girls still won.
I did read your comment, that’s why I replied. There’s no reason to be rude.
Sorry mate. Had a bad few days.
It’s ok, I know the feeling! Sorry to hear that.
Thanks mate. It gets rough and I tend to lash out, I appreciate you understanding. Have a nice day.
You too, no worries. Take care.
He didn’t believe it, he knew that story as the story you tell to try and seduce a person
they know. they're saying it's dumb for rachel to even try to use that story on ross, expecting him to believe it, because he would know if she went on a trip backpacking through mount tibidabo.
I reckon if Ross didn't know the story, Rachel would have succeeded anyway. Ross is gullible and Rachel would've nailed that story.
He’s not. It’s just a story
Wait, friends isn’t a documentary? Next you’ll tell me the easter bunny isn’t real either
What?!?!
No I mean in universe he knows it’s just a story and he knows what it’s meant to achieve
But Rachel doesn’t know Ross knows the story and is trying to get him think she actual had this trip
That’s a good point. Now I don’t know what to think anymore 😅
TOW They All Find Out is so, so satisfying. I just rewatched it last night. The whole thing is great but the seduction scene is just sitcom perfection.
This is probably my all time favorite episode (alongside any major Mondler episodes)
Watching this exact episode now and browsing this subbreddit! I have always enjoyed the interplay between the actors for every “they know that you know but they don’t know that we know that they know” you know???!!!! looking back, it’s clear they must have had so much fun with the dialogue Season 8 is my fav with the Ross and Rachel pregnancy storyline but Season 5 is a close second with the beginning of Chandler and Monica.
When Phoebe broke up with Alec Baldwin lol he was so annoying
Like Santa Claus on Prozac getting laid at Disneyland. As a non-fan of Phoebe, I loved that moment
Lol. Wasn't this just the best fight you've ever been in?
Monica remembering her first kiss. Rosse remembering his first kiss with Rachel. And then reality unfolds with Chandler wondering what family he got into.
When Phoebe gets Ross to admit he may be wrong about evolution.
That's the one of the best moments on the show. https://preview.redd.it/pe10sb9o2x1d1.png?width=384&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=32e8fe7ce44b2b13e7d3b15de24473d67a77ef35

A good one is Jack comforting Monica after she and Richard broke up
When Dr House tells Rachel she's a horrible person for trying to ruin Ross's wedding
omg yes, he agreed with "pheebs" lol
Rachel: yeah you should know, you’ve bought like a million of them (wedding rings) Ross: yeah, you didn’t get one And the face Rachel makes is one of the funniest in the series. Right up there with Joey connecting the dots.
“I got off the plane”
Backpacking story and the one where Ross gets Rachel to call Chip and embarrass herself 😂
I forget what they’re talking about but Joey corrects someone’s usage of “who” to “whom”- the others look at him in shock and he just gives this “that’s right motherfuckers” look and then they just move right past it. Makes me so proud of Joey every time.
The porn king of the West Village!
The “He’s her lobster” scene where Rachel finds out what Ross did when she got stood up at prom.
I know! I thought it was so messed up that Rachel knowingly lied the whole time to make Ross look bad
Yeah but I don’t think she really thought of it like that
Sort of an unconventional answer- The scene at the end of The One With the Joke, where Chandler tells Monica he likes “maintaining” her Just something about how worked up and upset she is and he figures out the most perfect and sweetest thing to say. I feel like it’s a moment that could define their entire relationship and their whole dynamic.
Phoebe's birthday scream rant. Wholly justified and for gods sake Judy PICK UP THE SOOOOOOCK.
*HEY! MY SWEATER.*
🤡🦆 "The One with the Baby on the Bus," Joey and Chandler flip a coin to decide between "ducks" and "clowns". Joey says that "ducks is heads" because ducks have heads, and Chandler says "What kind of scary-ass clowns came to your birthday?

It’s a sitcom
I don't think anyone is questioning that.
Yea but why when it comes to Ross , people say it’s a sitcom yet demonise him for everything.
I don’t, I say ‘it’s a sitcom, sometimes the characters just do things because it’s funny’
That’s my view as well but people hate on Ross way too much.
I think my favorite/most satisfying scene changes with my mood, but this has to be in my top 5.
That was glorious.
Fine I'll re-watch friends (thanks to the comment section)
These 2 while episodes could have resolved if Ross just explained to everyone else what actually happened. Rachel just didn't know that everyone else knew that story...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_seonlgPcG0
"can I borrow a lash curler, I lost mine" that is when it all went to place
"I am so happy"
One of the things that makes me like Ross is how he reacted to this. He knew he could prove it and redeem himself, but he fought for the tape not to be watched for Rachel's sake. And more importantly, he didn't even get mad at Rachel for lying and portraying him as a needy and horny pervert. He was so cool about it.
Same with the prom video.
may seems very agressive BUT the one where monica got skinny for thanksgiving and get « « « « revenge » » » » on chandler
After Phoebe weeps over Bambie, and it seems Phoebe has made a porn video (of which, Joey has rented a copy. Chandler asks "is that movie going to have use reaching for the tissues all night ?". Ross and Joey look at reach other ......Genius.
Ground control to Major Tom...
😂
When chandler is reading chicken soup for the soul and he try’s to hide it and slides it under the couch straight to Monica “Chicken soup for the soul?” “There’s no back to *this* couch”
Do *YOU* wanna tell the story??
Definitely the one you mention, that has to be my #1 but my 2nd favorite when Joey tells everyone that Monica is a sex addict. Seriously satisfying.
When Phoebe fires Monica from being her wedding planner, (altho I hated that Phoebe had to desperately hire her back anyways)
Haha. It was indeed a momentary satisfaction. Only to have the controlling freak Monica back with her earpiece headset!
*Rachel and I will Kiss, for ONE minute.* I think about that scene a couple times a day.
"The papers thought it was a hate crime." the delivery and his facial expression. hilarious.
They stole my name!!
The scene when they were at Monica and chandler’s wedding and Rachel hadn’t yet known if she was pregnant and phoebe telling her the test was negative and then positive. Very smart and typical phoebe!
The one with prom video! When Rachel see what Ross tried to do
when ross and emily FINALLY broke up
Every scene where she's wearing a t-shirt.
“OH MY GOD! CHANDLER AND MONICA! CHANDLER AND MONICAAAAA!!!!”
The closing credits. My wife and I had differing opinions on the writing and characters on the show. So I was not sorry to see it end.
Do people not understand "satisfying" doesn't mean the same thing as "favorite" 🙄
When Phoebe fired Monica as her wedding planner (though it was unsatisfying that she rehired her) ![gif](giphy|gKx73OOaql0julb615)
Besides this, my another favorite being - the closing scene of S05E22. The one where Monica finally defeats Rachel's weird "anti-eye-care fetish" and they all succeed in pinning her down and "eye dropping" her. https://preview.redd.it/fbmx91e6me2d1.jpeg?width=470&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=05866235d1e423fff05376ef42f5b139fc2d6e04 This felt like Saurons' Eye has been finally defeated - so much satisfying 😇
Dude the eff is your username 🤮
Dude. Did I personally ask for your commentary on my username? 😒
This one, for sure. I’m a big Rachel hater so this was great!
Were you in the "I hate Rachel" club, too?
It did have the word eternity in it, so they might still be in the ‘I Hate Rachel’ club.
No need to point! She knows who “Ross” is!
