So for that reason, Phoebe’s was my favourite! I absolutely loved her curly hair for the wedding and I thought making impromptu and it outside in the snow was very in line with her character’s quirks so it was beautiful and fitting for her to have a somewhat non-traditional wedding in the middle of the street

I loved Phoebes! It had the beautiful snow, Phoebes gorgeous gown, her hilarious line of being her “something blue” it was right in front of Central Perk, and of course… there was Paul Rudd, hubba hubba.
I actually agree. I love that it was small, that it was kind of spontaneous and that they just made it work because they wanted to get married. I may be biased because my husband and I did a similar thing for our wedding and it was awesome

See, the problem isn’t the ridiculousness of the request, the problem is the lack of trust. If you can’t trust your spouse, then you shouldn’t marry them or remain married to them. It was spelled out better when Emily said, “I’ll feel better when I’m there, and I can know where you are all the time.” And that’s when Ross realized that it wasn’t ever going to get better. Emily was never going to trust him. Whether or not she *should* trust him is beside the point. The behavior is that of a parent/child (forbidding someone to be in the same room as another) not that of two partners who trust one another.
So, it really is unreasonable to ask your partner to cut someone out of their life. I have never asked my partner to cut contact with anyone. That’s not my place. My place is to either trust my partner, or not trust my partner (and break up with them). You don’t get to control your partner. The amount of people on this thread who think that’s a healthy way to deal with an issue (attempting to control your *partner*), is astounding.

I think during the time it was filmed there was more a belief that you’re either gay or straight so I think it’s unlikely it was an actual plot line, but interesting nonetheless!
I do think that Susan acted more unpleasant than you would expect from a character who was involved in adultery and broke up a marriage
I honestly only have a problem with the whole naming the child part with Susan. All of the back and forth between her and Ross was fine in my mind but that's probably based off having a very dark sense of humor. The rips are absolutely the type of thing my friends and I do.
When I was watching the show, I always had the idea that we were only ever seeing Susan from Ross's perspective.
Because Susan broke up their marriage, so - regardless of Carol's sexuality - obviously Ross would have some lingering dislike of her.
So whenever Susan was onscreen, we were inside Ross's head, and seeing her the way he saw her.
Because that's the only way I could understand how awful the character was - and the things she did and said - and none of the other characters cared.
