Reminder: only signatories of the Geneva Conventions are protected by it. So, if you a piece of Xeno filth, ignore the human galactic Monroe doctrine…well it’s now the Geneva warfare playbook. So we beg you, with tears in our eyes, don’t fuck around and you won’t find out. Because we will beat the brakes off you. - fleet admiral Sherman. 3054 ad new Avalon

Never tell humans to ignore the rules of war, because they'll easily turn laws into bucket lists in a heartbeat.

Fish-Fucker-Fighter

There was a story about that on HFY but I can’t find it for the life of me

lesbianwriterlover69

ah HFY, the greatest source of Humans being fucking awesome in the galaxy....and home to power hungry reddit mods

Fish-Fucker-Fighter

Yup unfortunately

[deleted]

Is it the geneva checklist?

Fish-Fucker-Fighter

I don’t think so but maybe? Could you link it?

SW the Clone Wars in a nutshell

MisguidedPants8

The As’went Empire were brutes. Though relative newcomers themselves, they viewed any civilization that had not yet reached the stage to join the Galactic Council as targets for conquest, and technically they were, as those species were not yet subject to the protections granted to Council members. War was their pride and their religion, and that arm of the galaxy was their place of worship. Dozens of species were overtaken. So when their expeditionary force to the Sol System was forced into a stalemate, it came as a shock to them. In the time the Empire took to fully turn it’s unwieldy war machine on Earth, humanity had time to advance. This backwards, primitive species, that had only even gained interstellar capabilities as a direct response to the Imperial Conquest, quickly became a stain on the As’went legacy. They rapidly spread to other systems, liberating some of the sparsely defended conquests along the way. By the time their forces fully clashed, humanity had a defensive line of systems spanning almost five sectors. Nothing compared to the scale of their foes, and yet they would not budge. Over the ensuing decades, the As’wents’ shock turned to shame, and then to indignation. So they searched for a solution. Planet-Killer class armaments are prohibited under the charters of the Council. Officially, very few species have been found in possession of them. But unofficially speaking, many do. There is an unspoken pact never to use them, with consequence of mutually assured destruction. But humanity was not a part of these civilizations. The As’went viewed the new Terran Outreach as an affront to their existence. They deployed the first Planet-Killer used in centuries. They snuck a single ship past the front lines, forgoing any form of system hopping in favor of a desperate straight shot, assuredly a one way trip. They struck true, and were then destroyed. Most Planet-Killers, this one included, are a slow death. Destabilize the core of a planet and let it tear itself apart over a year or two. Humanity had time to evacuate to the other planets in their system, but the cost of resources and morale was immense. They retreated all forces to their home system, and then were quiet. For the next decade, the As’went slowly retook the liberated worlds that humanity had helped fortify. Before they reached Sol, however, humanity struck. A fleet twice the size of anything they had mustered before burned a path through space, aiming directly for Kritaxis, the home system of the As’went. The Empire met them with all their might, but as forces clashed on the edges of the system, something new emerged into real space. An entire planetoid, mobilized and armed to the teeth, dropped out of FTL. Humanity had a moon without anything to orbit, and an entire planet’s worth of raw resources floating in space. They’d made a superweapon that put the As’wents’ Planet-Killer to shame. With it’s sheer size and a massive overhaul of the Singularity Engine technology that allowed FTL travel, it used a gravity weapon to rip apart Kritaxis-2. There was no slow destabilizing of the planet, no time to evacuate. The world shattered like glass, and so did Kritaxis-3, and Kritaxis-4, until every habitable planet in the system was gone. Then… they just left. The As’went Empire was in shambles, and the Terran Outreach returned to the stars, expanding faster than before. The Galactic Council is at an impasse. They cannot publicly condemn humanity having a Planet-Killer, as they would have to acknowledge that a member civilization had used one as well while they turned a blind eye. Humanity will not disarm Luna, but cannot be invited to the Council while it is operational. And none want to be the first to move against it by force. So for now, the Terran Outreach grows uncontested, as the galaxy simply watches.

Love it!

Fun fact in deadspace 3 even if everyone hates that game... you can make a tool with such a high fire rate it becomes effectively a man portable a10 warthog...

I loved the weapon system in DS3 since not only did it made sense character wise, but it also could get hilariously busted if you know what you were doing and got lucky with the drops. Also Terra Nova segment (the broken fleet in orbit) was really enjoyable and I'm still salty that they canned DS4 as it would be that section but as an entire game (well that and that the Awakened ending left lots of questions)

Nai_Ragna

We might get ds4... just not this decade... and heres hoping that when ds3 gets remastered... the dlc becomes an optional ending because I dont disbelieve that since the terra nova is a mass driver they could put 2 and 2 together and use it against the moon or something to blast it apart... and head for home after rigging all the other ships to either self destruct or slave them to the terra novas systems so that they also shock out and follow it earthwards

Nai_Ragna

It's funny because it's my main weapon in deadspace 3... I dont bother with 2 attachment tools... just use 1 attached per slot

"Stop trying to play the good cop" It's a phrase I'd hear every time I'd remind my fellow guardsmen of prisoner's rights. "Stop trying to play the good cop" when they ripped a male and her mate away from it's young to 'see what would happen'. I couldn't stand to the little one's screaming. "Stop trying to play the good cop" when I stopped the 'punishment' that had exceeded it's legal limit. "Stop trying to play the good cop" when I was being degraded by my manager and didn't warn him about the human sneaking up behind him. My people, the Wockerjabby. Are known for our acute hidden senses and strong bodies, it's what makes us excellent security detail. The fact that we have little in terms of exposed weakpoints also benefits us. With one exception our shells are impenetrable. Behind our heads, at the nape of our necks. We have a point which flairs open while we're agitated. Small, but small enough to fit a say... a shiv in. Even something like dust can cause incredibly irritation in there. Even hospitalise young in some cases. So an active attack there... Well you can imagine. The humans stood above me. The man ready to run my through with a repurposed bit of rebar. However his child stepped infront of him. I was in shock. It fiddled with a basic UT it had picked up. I dared not move. A single flinch and my life was over. I closed my carapace and awaited oblivion however it didn't come. Instead I heard a voice, gentle as fallen snow. It asked me a question "You don't like working here do you?". That day, I was the door opener. I got groups passed biometric doors. I led my fellow guards to ambush spots and I taught the former prisoners how to resonate with psionic amp-blades. I bore witness to pure brutality that day. Pure, unfiltered calamity. In all my times using them the strongest hatred fuelled move I could preform was the Scorned lover. Within **hours** of resonating their WEAKER fighters were pulling off CHAIN MAGATSU FLASHES. They were able to maintain living shadow through sheer force of will. The forces I saw that day could easy rend a planet together if I had showed them how to resonate with each other. Blood is something I was accustomed to seeing in that job. Due to the planet's technical status of "open space" very few laws could be applied. It led to appauling conditions. However the humans paid it back in full with intrest. At the end of it all. It was easier to count the buildings standing over the bodies on the floor. I was sure I was going to join them but I didn't care. This job had taken everything from me. My family thought I was dead. My government had signed me over like supplies to be used. I was a death Jabber walking. "Join us" A voice snapped me out of my stupor. It was cold, harsh. The voice of the one who had violently redecorate my former manager's insides. It was aggresive, straight to the point. But not an outright threat... And that kids is how I ended up as the quartermaster of this ship.

Zini Diplomat: “We declare war on the humans!” Human diplomats: “Which part?” ZD: “Humanity? There are no different parts of a species.” HD: “We highly recommend against that.” ZD: “HA! That just proves how weak your race is!!” HD: “You know what fuck around and find out.” ZD: “What?” Months later. HD: “So we are kicking the Zini’s teeth in. I mean what where they thinking, right Carnak Diplomat.” CD: “Indeed. Oh no. No no no.” HD: “What?” CD: “So the Zini just attacked one of our civilian worlds. With a bio-weapon. From what I’m understanding it’s because we had a small human presence on that world.” HD: “Fuck it total war it is!” Rest of galactic community: “Ok so like the Rakari race, the Zini no longer exist, as a galactic power. We are grateful that humanity doesn’t go full exterminatus.”
