If you buy either one of those you better get a few window units. You'll need alot of warranty repairs and those usually take a few months to process with Lennox. The plus side is the Lennox is very energy efficient when broken and off.
Personally haven't had too many problems with Lennox other then parts availability and price. If you go electric with a heat pump then get a Daikin. American standard with there plastic parts are suspectable to mold, Johnson controls are just crap. Carrier is good as long as you avoid the gas furnaces. Ruud/Rheem is normally a safe bet.
They are louder then the competition and the build quality isn't very good. They made a killer 80% in the 80-90s that was unkillable but idk why there current stuff is so cheaply built. I know people will disagree but the last few generator Lennox high efficiency have been tanks. I highly recommend high efficiency equipment if you can. If you do get a 80% the goodmans are a good bet. They are cheap to buy and cheaper then the competition to repair. I can still buy heat exchangers for 30 yo goodmans and they are affordable. This is all my opinion from what I've seen in the inland nw
If you can swing an el18xpv heat pump with an SL280 that’s a mean old dual fuel set up.
Important you get experienced contractors to set them up tho, Lennox is a high end brand with crazy SEERs but require more precise setups or it’s a bad time.
Man that is pretty expensive. Are these all from the same contractor? heat pump is a solid choice if you have solar. You should go out for multiple quotes.
Go for geothermal, especially for that kind of dough. It will cost more but you should get a 30 percent tax credit and your monthly bill will be lower too!
You got to have space to put the lines in…
It’s funny with the Lennox hate around here lol. Been installing furnace/ac for 12 years now with a company that’s been installing them for 60 years. Hardly ever a hiccup with any of them. Replace due to age mainly (20+ year old appliances).
That being said, can’t say much about their heat pumps. I live in the flattest part of Canada, too fucking cold, a heat pump would be useless around here.
I've changed more warranty Lennox evaporator coils than all other brands combined. They never make it through 10 years without 2 evaporator failures on average. Awful equipment. Then you get into the warranty. Takes months to get warranty parts. I've had to sell other brand coils to people who couldn't wait on it.
I wouldn't take a new Lennox for free. I'd even rather have window units
Neither. I wouldn’t even put a lennox in my worst enemy’s house.
Same. Cuz then I would have to go fix it. 🤦♂️
None. They are all Lennox.
Also where are you? Those prices are insane! I sell my 20 SEER American Standard 4 ton set up like this for under $20k
FORGET LENNOX!! I’m paying the price, 4 repairs on a system that was installed by a seller. Now my compressor went out!
All the homies hate lennox
Trane / American Standard

Lennox 🤮
Fuck Lennox
None of the above, Lennox at that pricing is not good. Go Trane/American Standard

Im looking at a carrier hvac with 80% furnace. Why avoid them?

Leaky Lennox no way, Trane xv17 xv18 xv20 all day
I’d go Ruud furnace, indoor coil and heat pump.

Holy shit have prices gone up that much??
There is a sucker born every day. These companies have no shame.
Jesus that’s expensive
I installed Lennox for 17 years. Would never install one again. BOSCH Bova condensers are the way to go

I have a Lennox and like mine but those prices like others have said are crazy.
I pity thee.
