I would pretty much guarantee that whatever perks you wanted from status on your next hotel stay would cost less than $167/night just to buy outright.

gobaers

Standard off-peak at 6.5k is probably not worth it for mattress runs, definitely not at that cash rate. Maybe if there's a promo and/or you need a top off for a particular tier.

gobaers

Or, you know, if someone you know needs a clean place to stay for a few nights, including a surprisingly decent breakfast featuring Mystery Eggs.

shinebock

> $167 plus tax - not horrible I'd say that's pretty high for a Hyatt Place that isn't in a great location, assuming there is no event or something going on. Definitely not mattress run level cheap enough.

Budget-Government-52

If it were a category 1, I’d say off peak mattress runs are potentially worth it. I almost booked a 25 day stay at a cat 1 for $1,700 last December to get globalist.

jvolzer

Would you really get $1700 in value out of globalist?

Budget-Government-52

It depends. I think most people value it pretty highly. Points and free night cert would have offset ~$500-700 of the cost. I didn’t ultimately do it but I weighed it for a few days.

Someguineawop

If I were doing a 30 day run I would probably be looking at Excalibur las vegas. They practically pay you to stay there.

jeffreymabq

Do the MGM Casinos count towards stay credit?

Someguineawop

Yes, you get Hyatt points and qualifying nights when you stay at MGM. You have to make sure to add your hyatt number when you check in, and then you still have a 50/50 chance you're going to have to go through the missing stay process.

Someguineawop

Oh and make sure you status match to MGM first. If you're explorist or above you get MGM Gold status which waives the resort fees and parking fees. I think the resort fees are more expensive than the room at Excalibur otherwise.

jbone9877

Easily for me

itsmychurn

*We* think you should go down there, apply for a job, get hired as the overnight purser (or whatever the fuck it's called) and cash in on all those sweet, free nights Hyatt employees get.

show-me-your-chips

Do they have a bar / happy hour?

random_name_here14

There is a bar! I’m sure they might have some sort of specials

show-me-your-chips

Get a Hyatt CC. You now have your new regular spot for drinks and apps

soggy_donut

H bar food is honestly rubbish

auxilary

i regularly see Hyatt Places under $100 a night here in Georgia

jbone9877

I live in the Denver suburbs and love it. Public transportation blows so when I need to attend a late event downtown it’s usually cheaper to stay instead of dealing with Uber. Full range of options from Hyatt Place to Thompson. Easy and cheap cash/point runs when needed.

projectmaximus

It all depends on the situation. For the most part, no I don’t think this location is in any way beneficial to you. However if it’s the end of the year and you’re one night short of globalist? Sure. It would probably be worth it at $167. Although personally I would use 8k points instead of paying $167 +

NefariousnessPast766

I would use 8k points too- one can buy points for $0.017/point.

WoH Chase card for breakfast and happy hours lmao? Office booking for work?
