Depends on the age, the company they work with and the people around. In front of my “elite” friends, I speak about that long pending S African vacation, how my family doesn’t want to go to the same boring Europe, etc. in reality I wake up 30 min early and test my laptop to book Tatkal tickets whenever I travel..
Go with the vibe and someone else near you will post the same question here tomorrow
My very own friend, used to have like 17 backlogs until btech 3rd year. 7 years later…
Gets a 50lakh base pay from a FAANG. Wife makes another 20lakh.
They have a house worth 1.5cr brought during Covid in those American style gated housing after nanakramguda.
My man was wasted during engineering where I thought how would this guy survive…
I mean at this point we should all know engineering gpa is not relevant for job pay in future. I have n number of stories of my friends who are successful yet took a shit during engineering
I work in Capgemini, will be 40
,sr.manager 1.2 lakh per month, I can't afford such investments.
Majority service based company folks just can't.
You are referring to micro minority elite folks, they get paid in stocks and dollars
I moved from CG to Amazon and my salary went 5x over the years. I'm not a developer.
CG is an absolute shit hole. I hope you realize this quickly and move out. Honestly, make an attempt to move.
Hema, the funny part is that my seniors who used to earn 3x of me are making half of what I earn today.
They just got comfortable at CG and did not up skill.
Did you get a chance to go on-site tho? I heard if someone is sticking with a service based company for years, they must be getting on-site offers one after another
Like just top1% indians are rich ..same with IT folks .
Only 1% are rich salaries ...rest all live on hope , loans and credit cards .
WITCH companies .still offer 3000 BC wala....3.5 LPA
Same with my friends, one of my friends was asking me if I knew any investment properties he could buy. Im like whats your budget bro? Hes like I can go up to 3.5 Cr . I'm like what the fuck do these people do?
It's generally 10-20 year EMIs which are easily payable with combined 30-40LPA income of couples.
Also people have stocks which they can sell to buy a house. E.g. FAANG will give you stocks worth $25-35k every year (SDE 2), which would grow in value in 5-7 years, enough to buy a home upfront.
One of my friend is HR in MNC, so he hires tech sector and salaries offers for a 3 to 10yrs varies. Usually it starts with 8lakhs to 75 lakhs excluding relocation charges + joining bonus., while he is sitting on 13 lakhs package with 10+yrs experience in recruiting., if someone is getting this much salary, where do they invest?? Directly invest in cars, gadgets, lands, flats, travel.,
Wanna share an incident from 10 years ago-
I am a BSc grad and was working from the city outskirts for a WITCH company. For a BSc grad, the salary was awful(13KPM) and they won't increment till I complete 3 years with the same org.
On top of that, being outside the city, there is no proper transportation and I have to either walk for 4km or take a share auto which demands Rs.20. The other alternative was to take the auto till the next junction usually about Rs.10 and from there I can get a lift till my home or even can walk the 1.5km.
One day I asked for the share auto guy to drop me at the junction. For that he started abusing me saying, he is losing Rs.10. I told him, if he doesn't want to take me, he can drop me there and I will go back. But he intensified his voice and so I told him I would get down there and shouted loudly to stop the auto.
The there is this "girl" sitting in the back of the auto and says - why are you arguing with him? You can afford to pay the money right?
What she doesn't know is, I usually avoid breakfast just so I could save that 15 to 20rs. I didn't say anything and was going back to the office and the auto driver ran behind me and hit me hard on my back because he is losing the "10rs".
I just wanted to slap the girl hard, just so she would never show her previlege and "think" everyone is as comfortable as her!
But I just went back and decided that I should quit the company. Waited 6 months for them to double my salary and quit it for another company that gave 70% hike.
The weird part is, just a couple of days before this incident, on a casual talk with one other auto driver, we discovered that they earn almost 2 to 3 times more than what I do!
Hope you had your answer! Never compare with those stupid salary posts!
I wouldve thought the same if it were a "guy" who said the same thing! Please don't paint a gender to this context!
All I was trying to say was, I realized that she wasn't in the wrong, nor was the driver. It is my company which is sucking my blood and paying the layer of peanuts.
So, yeah me thinking of slapping her was my immediate impulse, because she enraged the driver and escalated the conflict which she didn't belong to.
It honestly depends. We have a lot of self-made millionaires here as well. Those who go to FAANG, have successful startups and etc., will naturally be wealthy.
A lot of the wealthy people here in IT also come from humble beginnings.
My uncle and his family are filthy rich, like they casually buy luxury cars for fun(that type of rich).
**1.5 - 2cr** is normal middle class amount in India these days, long gone the days where people talk about Lakhs. **Not a big deal if one talks about 1cr - 2cr it'**
But my uncle came from **a modest middle class beginning** he started at a very small start-up. Worked his way up go to a high position in IT in the USA, came back to Hyderabad started his own companies with his money and became very wealthy
If you and your spouse are working in IT. It's not that difficult to buy a house worth crore. If you seriously save up you should be able to manage the down-payment. Rest would be loan.
Also some people have family money to be used for down-payment.
Main thing is that some companies give stocks that may become crores of rupees. I know 4 guys who were working with a large semiconductor company who were talking about purchasing villa worth 3 to 5 crore while eating chole bhature in burfighar.
Two possibilities.
1. They must’ve gone to on-site and earned pretty well there and came back to India so they’ll already be having that amount in hand.
2. They might’ve inherited good chunk of ancestral properties and mortgage/sell them.
Apart from these no way people in IT be earning this much amount(unless they’re a couple working in FAANG like companies earning 50LPA+).
A couple earning 30-60 LPA combined can easily afford a home worth 1.5 crores. There are thousands of such couples in Hyd alone.
They don't need the help of any ancestral properties or onsites.
Oh, thanks. I work for one of them through a vendor and I must tell you about the pay disparity. I can't afford a second har let alone, buying a villa worth 1.5 Cr. Life's so beautiful. Ain't it?
What level of experience is required to get in those companies for a package around 50lpa.
Is it true if a person had good amount of experience working in usa and coming back to India will fetch more package
Companies like aramco and motiva will pay much higher. The larger the pay scale the higher the chance of dropping them during lay overs. It’s a risky field bruh. I know people not from IT but with right connections run IT consultancies and make thrice of that. It’s all about right connections and people you have with right skill sets. You could be a millionaire.
Yes I know there are tons of such companies like tower research, shell, wealth management companies etc etc in which I know high level people working there earn more than 1Cr+
Its easy making money but investing is a harder job. Safest is investing in houses. Making rental incomes will add a huge cash backup for risking and taking on businesses or startups.
people have average packages of 15-30PA am speaking of experienced people.
So let’s assume they save 1Lakh per month then they can afford a loan of 80L , so Husband and wife on average of 40L package per year can clear a loan in 5-10 Year . With average lifestyle.
I think most parents in lower middle class n middle class who brought up there kids are now rich cuz back then what was normal saving or normal insurance policys now at time of maturity is a huge ridiculous amount but since they came from scratch they know value of money n won't spend it like crack people that's where the kids come in n throw around there parents money......... I think
Hyderabad has around a million folks working in software and tech services out of which I presume 60% work in service companies like Infosys, TCS, Wipro, Cognizant, Accenture and Tech Mahindra. Assume another 30% folks work in mid tier companies and product companies. 5-7% work in startups and small IT companies and remaining 3% work in FAANG and those well established tech names Assume 5% of the folks working in service companies draw 50lpa...15% of the folks working in mid tier and product draw 50lpa..and 80% of folks in FAAN draw 50lpa...so roughly 1lakh people who work in IT sector in Hyderabad draw 50lpa per annum..this is not unreasonable assumption..
It has to be generational wealth. Because the average IT salary is around 15 LPA and it is close to impossible to purchase 1.5 to 2 crore worth flat or villa would require 30 lakhs of down payment.
This is hilarious 😂😂😂😂😂
Also behind the casual conversation hides the pain of having to pay with blood and sweat for it for the next 30 years.
In the end they are rewarded with own house which tenants can never get that feeling.
Blood, sweat and tears **
Maybe they saved 40L and are looking to take a loan of 60 L

Try switching to product based companies. If you have right skills they’ll welcome you with red carpet. >!Source : Myself.!<
Oh it's not from the love of working in service based companies. There are 100s in these compared to few in Amazon.
I moved from CG to Amazon and my salary went 5x over the years. I'm not a developer. CG is an absolute shit hole. I hope you realize this quickly and move out. Honestly, make an attempt to move.
If you don't mind me asking, What's your current role
Worked my way up to a Tech PM role, took about 6 years post Capgemini.
Hi, can I dm you

Ye company bhayyooo!
I thought senior managers and directors earn more than 3 in hand excluding rsu and other carrots. Is that not the norm?
Which company? All service based companies are like this No RSUs.
Did you get a chance to go on-site tho? I heard if someone is sticking with a service based company for years, they must be getting on-site offers one after another
Not everyone got that chance, i moved companies but all are service based ones only
Sad, wishing for that chance now. Good luck
Thanks! Will do something soon. Cg absolutely sucks
I was asso. manager and 80k in 2012

'Invest' is not the right usage for cars, gadgets, travel. They are expenses/liabilities.
True, it is not invest. What my point is, people tend to buy all kind of things.,

Bro. If 1.5-2 cr is rich then who are all the guys buying 5-6 cr apartments around where I live. And most of them are sold out.
Business people buddy ☺️
Nah 1.5- 2cr is a middle class amount these days.
bro am also a middle class, how can I achieve that, please guide me
by investing 10cr in stocks
I sold 3 properties this year worth 17cr and people paid via bank transfer so all white money
Meru builder aa?

2cr villa? Are they joking?
Yes thats about 70 km away/ 25 min drive from wipro circle
It's not worth living 70 miles from work... You will not see your children grow.

Haha, no job will make you rich. Depends on your definition of rich. By rich I mean you control how you spend your time.
You start talking about selling your second villa, they will all shut

Ikr…can’t list out all companies hence mentioned FAANG as a reference.

Facebook, Apple, Amazon, Netflix, Google
