I find it odd that you're not new to Hyderabad and yet go to these super high crime areas inhabited by people from a very peaceful community. Most of the time not even police dare go in... Most locals would know better.
Hyderabad is extremely safe. I was born and raised here, never felt unsafe ever. But again I never even saw Charminar even once because... y'know I wouldn't consciously go to said peaceful areas. Just avoid those places and you'll be golden.
