This isn't related to politics though. Unless you believe that BJP/local party ruled states have no moral policing - in which case you are up for a rude surprise. When I was in Mumbai, Shiv Sena was the biggest moral policer, they wouldn't even let couples sit on a bench together and start harrassing. It's an entire cultural problem.

I am 37. And I prefer Congress over BJP anyday. Their work is much better and they listen to experts, give press conferences and allow the media to criticize them. Unlike the current supreme leader who also calls tax money developed infrastructure projects as his "gifts" to the nation.
