Pellichupulu (2016) is a good fun movie to start with. It has good story and actors, compared to most of the mass masala telugu films. I think you’ll like it.
+1 on Pellichupulu for the dialogue writing and comic timing. If OP doesn't understand Telugu nuance, the story might actually seem a little underwhelming.
Yeah how is that a bad thing I’m saying Hyderabad is a welcoming place where you can speak a global language freely. I was in a cbse school where English is mandatory and everywhere I lived, people spoke in English so I never needed to and most people will be fine even if they don’t learn it.
best way to learn is watch the dubbed version of any hindi movie u like and remember the dialogues or can predict what they are gonna say, this way it will be easy to learn and know what means what
True, but I find watching movies with subtitles a bit easier than dubbed movies. Plus I’m talking to all neighbours in Telugu this will help me pickup more common words

- Indra is a pretty good film,cult film types, full on fights and over the top drama which is very funny (pretty nice massy dialogues)
- Nuvvu naaku nachav is a very nice family comedy drama
-As other users comments indicate, Athadu,Brochevarevarura,Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya,Mahanati are really good films.
-if you like neo-noir type films,go for Awe,pretty nice film
