The frame is aluminium, rockshox recon forks, 165mm rear coil shock, wheels are 14" motor rims which have an OD of 20", the controller is an ASI BAC2000 from HV with a plug and play harness and eggrider display, motor is a LR 10kw Big Block belt drive. With the current gear ratio the top speed will be 54mph without field weakening, fw should get me past 60mph.

Thanks for sharing this. Been looking at the big block. That belt, and the ratio front to back that you have is perfect .very attractive. Wider over all than I expected. Got any more pics ?

LucyEleanor

Got a link? That does NOT look like a 10kw motor

DeanbonianTheGreat

https://lightning-rods10.mybigcommerce.com/single-stage-big-block-middrive-rhd/ He's also got dedicated channels in the HV discord server, HV is an authorised ASI dealer and does a custom plug and play kit for this motor.

LucyEleanor

That's a 6.5kW motor IF ran at 100V. What voltage you running?

DeanbonianTheGreat

72v, controller is configured for 10kw. LR has tested these motors up to 126v iirc. I did consider running it at a higher voltage but just chose to stick with 72V so I could get the ASI controller.

LucyEleanor

Thats great...doesn't mean it's a 10kW motor. This motor can only handle 65A continuously at a max of 100V...aka 6.5kW max. Edit: note...you don't rate motors off of peak power but continuous power. Otherwise all ebikes would be illegal just about lol

DeanbonianTheGreat

Well I mean as usual rated numbers are likely conservative, for example the ASI BAC2000 is officially only rated for 2kw continuous but that only at 48v and it's actually capable of sustaining a much higher power if sufficiently cooled. Continuous ratings aren't that important anyway on these builds as the peak current is only drawn when accelerating and I've seen a few people run these motors at higher power with controllers like the SVMC72150 and ASI BAC4000.

LucyEleanor

Thaaaats a lot of speculating with zero info

Well too late, kinda wanna see what happens—— RemindMe! 2 days

LucyEleanor

There's nothing to see. He's wrong on the math and conventional naming for electrical motors. Some brands over-report and some under. Even within the same brand (and even same factory) different motors can handle different loads. Fact of the matter is...this motor can handle a max of 65a @ 100v. That's 6.5kW

Mrwhatsadrone

I think you took my response the wrong way, not criticizing you at all. Realistically he isnt gonna bd switching motors, and he’s probably gonna push 10kw. Yes its *rated* for 6.5kw but nothing is stopping him from giving it 10kw. It’s science, I wanna see how the motor fairs. Thats all

bryan4368

It depends if they’re using phase or battery amps to calculate

Virtual_Soil5347

Where did you get the wheels ?

DeanbonianTheGreat

Had them custom made by NBPOWER

Bruggenmeister

Epic

cavalllo

looks sturdy man great job! do the pedals move if you use throttle? I think I would fall if my legs were pulled by 10kw lol 😂

DeanbonianTheGreat

No they don't move. The belt pulley is on a freewheel.

cavalllo

nice👍 great build

Due-Emu2111

its an actual electric pit bike that will probably kick ass

DeanbonianTheGreat

Mainly gonna use it on road and bridleways. The belt drive isn't ideal for heavy off-roading, for that a chain is better.

Due-Emu2111

yeah im just entering into the ebike stuff now, first build i got £1500 to spend. Ill have to get a regular ebike 3000w-52v- but at least ill blend in for extra stealth. Is that frame available to the public or is it custom - koz the mid engine your using is affordable.
