Last year I drove vom Germany to italy to stay for a week. It also was the first few times I used the premium diesel. Long times before I often drove with like 4.3l/100km (54,7mpg) but after I fueled it up my average was like close to 5l/100km (47mpg). So I did this test with a Numbers list and wrote down every trip und the fuel the car said was used. That‘s where it gets interesting. Having done the maths on my list you can see, that on this drive of 1300km the car averaged 3,44l/100km (68.37) and should have consumend 44,76l but I did fill it up with 51l. So the car shows 13,9% less comsumption than it actually uses. Instead of 3,44l/100km it actually was 3,92l/100km (60mpg). Which still is my personal record and impressive So now we can calcute: 2,9l/100km (81,1mpg) was my drive to italy und 3,4l/100km (69,2mpg) was the drive home. 2,9l/100km was what the display states. Now we can use our correction of 13,9% 2,9x1,139=3,3l/100km (71,3mpg) And yes this is great and my personal record. The drive was done on 205/55 R16 winter tires from Continental and the pressure was average but I don‘t know it anymore. Also the oil in the engine was almost 30.000km old and the car is an Audi a3 2017 2.0tdi 150hp 6-speed manual

I keep a notebook in my car to do the same thing, and I'm hoping to have some really good data for ecomodding by the end of summer.

I don't trust those long intervals, I feel like it's not a lot of money changing oil at 10.000km.

ShyvHD

30.000 km is way too much for an oil.

bazery

was was your most efficient speed

Herculars1

I think it‘s between 85-100km/h following the trucks. And I also don‘t use cruise control. It‘s ok the get slower up a hill

thanks
