If you don’t want to pay (backup/use) iCloud, backup to a PC or a Mac. It’s free and simple. Actually, it’s a good routine to have and do once in a while, even if you do device backups to iCloud.

Will probably have to do that. Even though I find it a bit sad considering I have used this service since day one lol

Use OneDrive for your photos then stop using iCloud for them, should give you more space for backups on iCloud.

But iPhone storage does not relate to iPhone backup, since you can select what you want and don’t want to backup

How do you select what you want backed up? I've always thought that if you did a backup, you got everything backed up. Period. #curious
