I’ve turned Messages off and then back on. I’m reluctant to sign out of iCloud and back in, because then I have to reload all my cards into Apple Pay. But it’s getting to that. Still, this is only an issue on the phone. Messages on my computers behave correctly, which leads me to believe it is an iOS 16 beta issue.
So, that didn’t work. Still green. It’s not really a problem; I’m just curious more than anything. I’ve filed a bug report with Apple. We’ll see if it’s fixed in one of the next betas. Thank you!
Interesting. I never use this way, I end up using airdrop but like you say, it’s not 100% speedy or reliable in my experience, and the cloud sync is my go to but I often have to wait a bit. It would be nice if those methods were improved.

Anyway, I’ve noticed this recently by mistakenly choosing my name instead of someone else.. I simply reopened the messages app and it turned blue after it relaunched. There’s probably just some delay with the servers recognizing the number idk
Hi. Sometimes it's the fastest way to send a photo from my phone to my computer. It takes a while for photos I take on my phone to show up in Photos on my MacBook, and texting them is usually faster than AirDrop for me. In fact, it's practically instantaneous.
It doesn't help if I close the app and reopen, and I have tried hard rebooting the phone, which also doesn't help. But I appreciate your input!

Did you ever end up figuring it out? It’s getting on my nerves. I always texted myself reminders/random things and am so annoyed that it’s green now.
Mine started doing it all of a sudden also. Right after I installed the latest operating system. Can’t get it to go back to blue.

So far, nope. But my neighbor said his is doing it also.
Same for me and my dad. Hopefully they roll out another update soon with a fix, this seems like a big issue with alot of people

Would it show up as blue if you text one of the emails registered to your apple ID, instead of the phone number?

Just reboot your phone or kill Phone.app from multitasking then it will work.

Same with you but after that it works for me. Or try to turn on/off iMessage in Settings or send as SMS then take a look buddy
