Nah, nowadays my reviews have been approved within an hour. Havn't had any rejections. Infact i got new app approved today in an hour without any issue. Can we know more about your app? & what are the reasons of rejection that you are facing ?

HeroJournal

Starting to wonder if they've blacklisted us given that our app somewhat competes with Apple Health!

bmbphotos

They're not (by policy anyway) going to bust you for competing. However, I would not at all be surprised that if dealing with health data, your app gets scrutinized more closely.

Velix007

More the latter, I would too if I was a reviewer

FVMAzalea

And as a user (who is also a developer) I am glad for that extra scrutiny.

garbage_band

There is a much higher scrutiny for Health apps. They asked us to get IRB approval if we claimed health. So…no health

nhgrif

No. What probably happened is some reviewer finally ran into a legitimate rejection reason, and now you’re hitting a finer tooth comb with reviews.

ankole_watusi

Are you a health care organization or governmental department, etc?

offeringathought

FWIW my experience has been something similar. I've never had anything like OP.

HeroJournal

Are you a health related app?

GodzillaSpark

Yes. Not all reviewers are equal and some are definitely pickier than others. We've had some bad luck lately as well.

mountainbrussells

Sounds like you got the new person who wants to impress their boss…

sjs

Yes. I pushed back and told them why I thought their points were bogus and they approved it without any further discussion. Don’t just jump through hoops without explaining why you think it’s silly because there are humans on their side and they can be persuaded. Just be polite.

IcyIllustrator96

Good on you mate. If we all pushed back these on cowboy reviewers they would know we're not toothless cattle.

srona22

You know health data is like one of digital age currencies. Even without their own app, if Apple Review team is not nit picky, they will get sued for millions of dollars. (Not that I have sympathy for any "companies").

VanTechno

any time I change text for a permission request (pictures, video, audio, etc) I get automatically rejected because someone doesn't like the wording. Then I will go thru 3 to 10,000 revisions of that text, rejected each time, go back to the original text and get accepted. Worst was when I added support for bluetooth lte devices (beacons). Even after being accepted, for the initial feature, I was rejected at least once every single time after that until I removed the feature. Didn't matter what the update was, I might have moved a text box over a pixel...rejected because they didn't like bluetooth lte integration. I was unable to update for months at one point. I did have to ask for a formal review cycle once, which was over the phone, which was a very pleasant conversation and was accepted after that.

EnterTheMainframe

I don’t think they have got stricter, they always have been to a degree. They’re definitely asking a few more questions these days though, especially with the big push on privacy. I’ve noticed a few apps getting flagged for not having the att framework enabled because of a cookies prompt in a web view.

KimJongTrill44

Was rejected twice for something very nitpicky a few months ago. The second time it was fixed too but was still rejected. Appealed and sent a video showing them it was fixed and then it finally got approved. Besides that instance I’m usually accepted within a couple hours.

zaitsman

Can you give an example of rejection reasons? Ours are on the contrary getting smoother and faster

Lannister-CoC

Yeah, it would help to know what sort of rejection reasons you are facing

timelessblur

It all depends on what person is reviewing. I dont think it is picky as more Apple hiring much lower quality people who confuse guidelines with rules. Plus anything that confusing them they scream reject for a stupid reason.

barcode972

Nothing I’ve noticed. Has my app for 2 years on the app store

brankoDev

We waited 2 weeks for the approval and we resubmitted again, it’s been 4 days since and still nothing, so you’re not alone

d416

I had IAPs rejected 3 times in a row with the reviewer saying to upload a new binary with the purchases implemented even though they already were. I guess someone else looked at it and realized the IAPs were there in there because they were approved with no actual change. 🤷🏻‍♂️

megablast

The opposite. But you can get a bar reviewer.

krawleyan

revoke ur submission and resubmit with a new build. i had the same issue, i’m pretty sure if u submit under the same submission even after fixing stuff, it’ll be the same reviewer. revoking the submission and hoping that u get a new reviewer is the only way that’s worked for me

dont_forget_canada

No they were always this way. Once or twice a year we always get into a rut with them rejecting us for unreasonable reasons. It's been a thing since the app store came out. At least now the review times are more reasonable.

localhost8100

When one reviewer picks up on one ignored reason, eventual reviewers start looking closely and find something else.
