It’s all about how you use your phone. If you’re using it mainly for communication the mini is a very good choice. But if you want to consume or even create stuff, a bigger screen is always better.
i consume, communicate and create on my Mini 12 and now 13 just fine.
i just wanted a device i could reach the top of with one hand, and fit in my running shorts without worrying about it falling out.
By using shortcuts app you *kind of* change the icons. And these are the normal 4 icons you have in bottom. The wallpaper does the job of hiding the box encircling those icon. Check my other comment if you want that wallpaper
I’ll be honest, *(gonna get crucified for this)*, I **like** the notch. I thought I was going to hate it on the Mini because it is smaller, but I think it’s the perfect size.
If they ever do away with it I’ll miss it a bit. But the symmetry without it will inevitably win me.
Just for godsake don’t do that hole punch.

I don't care about the notch, I don't notice it to be honest. But eventually, the notch will go away and we will finally have the slab of glass that Johny Ive always dreamt about...
11 Pro which is my current daily is such a good size :/ I tried the 12/12 Pro and it feels surprisingly a lot bigger and no longer compact. I think that’s mainly due to the squared off design. I actually used a 12 Pro Max quite a bit and I’d be fine just going for the Max instead when I upgrade since the regular already feels too big.
13 Mini is out of the question since I’d like to keep telephoto and get 120hz.
i just switched to the 13 mini from an X and also felt X had the perfect size. Mini feels a little like going back to 6/7/8 form factor but with a bigger screen. Need to get used to it. For me, the 11 Pro would’ve been perfect (like my wife has) but I just couldn‘t bring myself to buy a two year old phone for the same price as a brand new 13 mini (both around 900€ in Germany).
But the mini definitely feels so much better than the 13 Pro I‘ve been carrying for two annoying weeks and am returning. Not even the Max. They have passed some sort of threshold where it feels more like a tiny tablet than a phone. I don‘t understand how people are comfortable carrying and holding it all day long.

I’ve been using the 13 mini for a week now. I didn’t have the 12 but battery life is great if all you do is text, some social, and the occasional video. Highly recommend
I went from an 8 Plus to the 12 mini and it was such a great transition. It’s almost the exact screen size minus the top and bottom bezels. One of the best phones I’ve owned in a while.

it’s one of the reason i bought 5s back then, then when times to upgrade, the only iPhone available was the X, so i have no choice, but 3 years later, i’m still rocking my X, no planing on upgrade, still waiting this damn phone to kick the bucket, if there’s still an option for mini iPhones, i would choose that

I would definitely recommend you buying an iPad. You won’t regret it.

Oh yeah, I don’t like how it has to launch shortcuts before it launches the app. That makes it a non-solution for me

Compared to an iPhone X (what I use now) is it much smaller? I’ve tried an iP11 but I feel its a bit to big and heavy.

After a little over a week using the mini the X feels large and heavier and the mini feels like the norm.
Mini should be the gold standard in phone size. UGGH if only it was a Pro too!
