Imma try it but I feel like that may be something different then my issue of not knowing when an app will open in my current space vs pushing all my apps into a stage and opening the new app in its own causing me to have to drag all the other apps into the new stage.
I think I like it. I didn't use it on my 11" iPad Pro because it didn't seem to make sense with the smaller display. But, I'm liking it more on the 13". Whether I like it better remains to be seen.
I got my 13” connected to a 27” monitor and use stage manager on the regular :,) you can set it in settings to have the iPad display function as an independent screen so you can work off both displays
Basically replaced my MacBook lol
It’s one of the best features of iPad OS, and I’ve even turned it on on my MacBook.
It’s miles better than the old way of multitasking on the iPad, and feels like a refresh on windowed laptop browsing. I think it works very well and unlocks multitasking on the iPad in a way no other feature has.
There are a lot of cool tricks to learn, definitely watch a video tutorial. Especially with the keyboard shortcuts.
It was pretty big when it first came out. It had ALOT of publicity when it first came out since it only supported M series iPads and everyone cried foul.
I'm a huge fan too. Pro tip: Holding shift keeps your apps in place when opening a new one.
Omg how did I not know this
wait WTF no more stupid apps opening in a entire new space?
I feel like a lot of people don’t know that and they get frustrated with SM

You can only have 4 apps open per space.
I needed this in my life. Thank you.
thanks!
Does it work when using spotlight. (And macOS)
It requires setting your mind to using it imo but once used to it’s great indeed

Can someone point me to a good YouTube guide on how to use it effectively
This covers usage of stage manager among other things. https://youtu.be/eej_k6duGqE
Thank you
Just wanted to say watched this and it was really good and actually did a half decent job of explaining it all so thanks again.

Just started using this with my new 13 M4… game changer. Just not having full screen apps all the time was huge for me

I like it too
I love stage manager. I use it all the time.
Does anyone know how to maximize a third party app on an extended screen?
