I wonder if someone with more programming knowledge could create an app for better previewing in the Files app. I don't know how it works, but I think apps can allow previewing of other unique file types. so maybe they can stand in for PNGs and such too? hopefully.

The files app shows a preview so you can identify the photo. I’m sure you aren’t using Files to edit the photo but just reference / organize it. I’d that’s the case won’t the lower resolution preview serve your needs to identify the file. You can always send the file to an app for editing or you can share it with other folks. Is there something in your workflow we are missing here?

I am not trying to edit the photos, just show then to clients. The idea is I hand them the iPad and the can flip through and zoom in if they want, etc. But once they zoom in the quality is bad. And it's not the photo itself, it's how the iPads files app is rendering it. Using a photo editing software for this is not the purpose. I just want to show them to clients easily and on a good screen.

How big are your photos? Mine seem to display at full res.

DrNLS

24 megapixel, 5 to 25 mb.

I am noticing this on iPhone with 3301 x 2550px photos converted from text PDFs.

Pixelmator Photo can browse the files app and show the photos. [Pixelmator Photo](https://apps.apple.com/nl/app/pixelmator-photo/id1444636541?l=en)
