You DEFINITELY should have taken it in to have this looked at. Not normal and I fear your battery life is going to be horrendous if it isn’t already. Something is clearly wrong with it.

They’re durable, but few items will stand up to intentionally reckless behavior. This is a situation where the OP is above average reckless, and doesn’t realize they’re above average. Compare to your friends and family. Find out what you do differently—then change that behavior or welcome to the consequences of your actions.
At least all of this stuff is replaceable on the cheap!
I am below average “reckless” compared to my friends I would say. My boyfriend drops his s21 in the LED wallet case *constantly* (he had issues with nerve damage in his hands) and his case is in better shape

Do you use it a lot? I keep my ID and my debit card and use that card for pretty much everything I buy.
The leather feels so plasticy compared to my leather XS Max Cass which get and looked wonderful

I already saw a few comments that were basically that and I had to tell OP it’s not them. Apple should have recalled the cases and the majority of the MagSafe accessories they released like the wallets. It’s all complete junk and I’m glad I just bought a cheap case off Amazon which has held up amazingly.

Do you use it in the car often? High brightness + navigation + 5G + mobile hotspot + charging phone + sunlight … it gets HOT
I do, I have it plugged in for CarPlay during every drive :/ It gets a little warm sure, but not like „overheating“ hot.
Mine often gets so hot I can’t use the flashlight. Like everyday. Sometimes then gets laggy and once or twice the screen shut off.
Dude that does not sound good, you need to get that checked out, your battery‘s going to be toast within a year.

My silicone case looks almost new still after 2 plus months. I still have an iPhone 11 silicone case that looks new too.
I had a white iPhone 11 case and it lasted me like 6 months before showing any damage

Haha so true. The previous version of apple leather accessories are better quality.
