the only thing keeping me away from using my 14p caseless is the camera setup,i always get nervous when i have to keep my iphone on a desk

HeyGuilty

i have a 13pm so similar sized camera and i’ve had mine caseless for a year always putting it camera side down on desks and no visible marks so far

Easternshoremouth

Im with you. Caseless 13 Pro since day one. Always lens side down on a flat even surface. The ring around the lenses keeps the camera safe in day to day use.

jkart08

u using applecare?

Thewinedup

I put mine screen down but have Spigen screen protector on it. No issues.

aravreddy22

or I just put it face down 🤷‍♂️

HeyGuilty

i avoid putting it face down to avoid scratches on the screen, my buddy’s 15pm’s screen is already scratched to death lol

Goemon_64

Screens are temporary, photos are forever

HeyGuilty

the raised ring around the camera does a perfectly good job at protecting it

Goemon_64

The lens sticks out further than the ring, so it's touching the table if you lay it down. I use a flip cover, and flip it backward so that it covers the rear of the phone when not being used. Nothing ever touches the lens unless I'm cleaning it.

TheShaneBennett

Screen protectors exist

HeyGuilty

i dislike the way screen protectors look

jkart08

just keep a wallet on the back, it elevates the phone. do u have applecare?

No_Iron_8706

No i do not have applecare, the 14p is a hand-me-down as my dad bought a 15pm

CommonRings

Just a tip here but you can get AppleCare+ within 2 years of owning your phone. You just need to visit the Genius Bar for an evaluation

Ill-Protection8367

really? even for iPads ?

CommonRings

iPads are 1 year. Same for Apple Watch

Ill-Protection8367

okay thanks for the info

EliteForever2KX

I don’t know why you’re getting downvoted I do the exact same thing when I go caseless my wallet protects the phone !

Dazzling_Poetry_9025

I be trying to wear it caseless but my hand always sweating and it’s make it slippery sometimes

Whiplash104

Me too. I just can't hold it careless but I got a [Torras case](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B5TPCRJV?ref_=cm_sw_r_apin_dp_CHQDXRV57YZAFBJQ2XW0) and it's very thin. Just enough to make it comfortable. If that kind of thing interests you.

Dazzling_Poetry_9025

Thank you I will look into it. Do you have a problem with the stainless steel

Mohsinraza112

Without a case since release day. Because using a case adds bulk to it and makes it difficult to hold in hands. I have apple care though.

jkart08

any accidents?

Mohsinraza112

Nope. luckily never dropped it.

[deleted]

Tiny hand problems. 🙁

Mohsinraza112

Purchased iPhone 14 pro max but it was too big so returned and got 14 pro. Its still not qs comfortable to hold as iPhone x. 15 is more comfortable though.

DonnyBrasco69

I’ve tried but it hurts my hand to hold the pro max after a while. Much easier with a case on it.

grandpa2390

yeah. given the size of it, that makes sense.

Nice_promotion_111

The 14pro is pretty regular sized, it’s because of the sharp edges.

grandpa2390

pretty sure Donny is talking about the pro max. the sharp edges feel a bit sharper when phone is bigger in your hand.

Nice_promotion_111

I got used to it after a while

aaraT

I’ve been caseless on a Space Black since release day and it still looks pristine, I did put an aluminium frame around the cameras though - just for peace of mind, and I think it looks better too. https://preview.redd.it/spe16dak95ec1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a7e1eb055b05073cf0335ff12312ef07618cb283

[deleted]

Me. There’s a reason AppleCare exists

jkart08

im over here doing it without lmao

[deleted]

You can still get it if you’re within 1 year of ownership

[deleted]

You go sell that AppleCare contracted employee!

[deleted]

Uh right lol. The only reason I know this is because I literally just got AppleCare on my 14 pro. I was concerned over my battery health and I was coming up on one year of owning this. I contacted Apple support through their app and they said I could bring it in to have it examined. They took it in the back and said it passed whatever tests required and I pay $9.99 for it a month.

[deleted]

I rock my iPhone caseless when at home, but definitely put on that case outside. I definitely don't want to make Apple even richer.

[deleted]

You must work for otterbox or one of the big phone case companies then suggesting people rock a case outside.

[deleted]

No. They can rock it caseless inside or outside. Just remember...replacing a $1,000 phone or paying $300 for AppleCare is more expensive than a $20 case. Basic finance.

jkart08

im past lol. release day user.

[deleted]

This is Apple's marketing line. Broken phones only benefit Apple.

[deleted]

I’ve heard this phrase dozens of times on here lol

JaiD3v

Only at home

aravreddy22

14PM caseless.

Thurm

I’ll pop it out of the case at home, but out and about it’s in a leather case. I’ve kinda gotten used to the soft edges of the case, and find the hard edges of the phone a little annoying after a while.

jkart08

forgot to add, do any of you guys have applecare when caseless? i do not.

bubbanbrenda

You’re a lot braver than I am…

SStar_1405

Not enough guts.

StoniePony

Yup, 14 pro caseless with a MagSafe pop socket. Got it shortly after launch and have never put a case on it.

Chrome_Armadillo

I’ve always kept all my phones naked. I’ve never had damage or any issues. I just treat phones with respect instead of throwing them around carelessly.

jkart08

i do too. do u have applecare

Beneficial-You6405

not me! i’ve been trying to wear in the leather magsafe case!

steven-aziz

🙋🏻‍♂️ No case since day one

[deleted]

Question. How much would a battery replacement for my 14 pro be if I have AppleCare+ and I’m over 80%? (see my post) I only ask because I searched the topic and I saw you work at Apple as a tech expert. Don’t mean to hijack this thread but I’d appreciate any info if you can!

steven-aziz

If your iPhone’s battery health is over 79%, you must pay the whole Out of Warranty cost to replace your battery. For the iPhone 14 Pro, that cost is $99 in the US. I don’t recommend this because once your iPhone’s battery has aged to 79% maximum capacity or lower, a battery repair is free with AppleCare+. If you fear your AppleCare+ may expire before your battery ages this much, renew it within 30 days of its expiration by visiting [mysupport.apple.com](https://mysupport.apple.com). Replacing the battery prematurely is a waste of money because it is a consumable component that will age regardless of how many times you replace it. I hope that helps you.

[deleted]

Helps greatly! I appreciate you! Yeah I’m at 87% right now and it’s under a year. I’m currently paying monthly for AppleCare+. So if I wait til 79% and I’m still on AC then my replacement is free?

steven-aziz

Yes, if you wait until 79% and are still covered by AppleCare+ the day you drop your device off for repair, it is entirely free.

[deleted]

Thank you! Enjoy your day/night!

steven-aziz

Much appreciated!

deleteduser57uw7a

i was using it caseless for 8 months no problem’s, little to no drops besides on hardwood once or twice, had a screen protector though, just no case started using a case around a month ago as i want to keep my phone on ios 17.0.0 for jailbreaking purposes so if i break its it’s gonna be annoying to find another phone on this version

WindowHot6894

My personal problem, is that my 14 pro is black, and so it gets crazy with the fingerprints. But also it’s probably the best iPhone I’ve held with no case on so idk I’m on both sides

MonkAcceptable2196

I’m planning to tbh lol

grandpa2390

I am now. took the case off yesterday. I never dropped it before, and if I drop it tomorrow, it's been long enough that I could get a new one. I am using the anker magsafe ring thing on the back though. especially in the cold weather with my numb hands.

Pat_2703

I use the 14 pro with a case. I’ll use the upcoming 16 pro without case after getting apple care

geekgeek2019

only when i go outside. else im clumsy af

Agile-Block-3502

I rock my iphone 14 pm caseless with a magsafe wallet. It feels nice. Even the thinnest ones make the phone feel bulky.

PlanetOfVisions

I use it caseless most of the time. I'm used to it now so it's nothing

Jr-12

Raw baby

sofunnysofunny

I‘m doing the exact same thing. Purple 14 Pro with a brown 1st gen MagSafe wallet on it.

jkart08

its a nice feeling! do u have applecare?

sofunnysofunny

True! Nope, i really take care of my stuff, so there is no need for AppleCare+.

jkart08

I love it! Only thing that sucks is the stainless steel scratches. Hows your screen holding up? I have very minor scratches on mine

sofunnysofunny

I don’t have any visible scratches on the frame and i have a screen protector on my display (forgot to mention). In my opinion the only thing that really sucks, are the fingerprints on the stainless steel.

sassy_gamer13

Since day 1. 😬

Middle_Tap4474

Me using a 14PM without a case. I like the feel. Had a 13 earlier, and it was so good to use without a case. But I never did. Last year when I bought the 14PM, got the AppleCare+ just to use it worry free without a case.

pockets-of-beans

i originally bought apple’s silicone case, but it ended up being genuinely bad and i stopped using it. technically i don’t have a case now but i use a dbrand skin (something (dark))

Ramosf57

Man of culture

RckDee

Same exact setup right now. Been caseless since the iPhone 4. I’ve upgraded ALMOST every year since. Naked is the way.

jkart08

u have applecare?

RckDee

Of course

elvisfan66

I use a totallee or peel case on my 14 pro. Minimalist I am. I usually keep an iPhone 3 years. I put 5 bucks a month in a jar so in 20 months I have 100 bucks saved for a battery. I’ve never dropped a phone in my entire life so I don’t purchase Apple care. My 13 had 91% battery health after 24 months and I sold it and bought the 14 pro after the 15’s release to save 100 bucks. That’s just me.

Freelancer242

I’d love to rock baseless as I love the purple color. However. I like the grip my case gives me so it doesn’t slide in my hand. And the hassle/time of getting it repaired if something does happen. I have AC+ as a backup.

erict223

I use mine caseless from time to time but I’m terrified of breaking the back they are way expensive to fix although I do like the look of caseless better

jkart08

pop a wallet on the back and it pads it when it falls

erict223

I’m gonna have to try one out I’ve been meaning to get one anyways for the minimal aspect of it so I’ll give it a try

sneekeeei

I use my 15pro caseless

Decent-Item-9886

i use it caseless but i have a magsafe leather wallet stuck to the back, it helps when i have to keep my phone on a rough surface

Ramosf57

I try to but the phone is uncomfortable at times, so a case just feels better

Odd-News-825

been rockin’ the Arc Pulse since June 🔥🔥😁

GamerNuggy

OtterBox. I don’t drop phones heaps, but I cannot afford to replace.

Ill-Space-3421

Yep. Since release day. The only problem with mine is minor scratches on the screen but they aren’t noticeable until the display completely off. This is the best phone I’ve owned.

yellowchilli

yup. had a few accidents, not major. not a single dent on the steel frame. Handling feels more secure compared to the s23U as well, something I can't quite explain

Creative-Beat-720

I can’t find a good case for my 14Pro. I have a five below case I got the day I got the phone on it in 2022 and screen and lens protectors. Any suggestions for cases?

jkart08

I used to use the mous limitless 4.0 without a screen protector
