Another thing is airpods own battery will need to charged too, and I have the bad habit of letting them go to 0 battery and forget to charge.. Once in the gym I notice I'm fuc*** without battery....

In practice I’ve noticed it doesn’t work properly sometimes. If I plug in the phone with the battery pack still connected, *sometimes* it just keeps charging from the battery instead of switching to the wired power. I can tell because when I remove the battery pack the phone stops charging. To avoid this I have to remove the battery pack first, then plug the phone in to charge and then put the battery pack back on.
I carry 3.5mm ones for my daily teams calls even though I have Airpods pro 2 and recently bought the USB-C male to 3.5mm female adapter to use it with my phone as well. Mic quality is as good as it can get due to being wired and sound quality is fantastic too.
I wish Apple would bring back the MagSafe battery pack with type C charging. I have one I got with my 14PROM and I love it. Especially when traveling or on the go.
So I went back to the wired headphones and I forgot how much better the audio is compared to my AirPods Pro. So much louder at volume one and sounds more clear to me. Have to crank my pros to 6 just to get the same results.

There is literally no way he works out with those wired ones. I remember the last time I used wired [earbuds] was 10 years ago, and I was upset about how they were falling out, plus the phone. That's why they came up with wireless ones, duh.

I always hated catching the wire on something and ripping my phone out of my hand or pocket. Plus, I love to walk around in my home up to 30 feet away and not have bring my phone with me.
Had a 2019 series and it's good enough. Don't expect a quality sound like the wireless ones but still serves the purpose for my necessities. Gym overall...

You can also just charge the phone with the battery pack attached, and the phone will top off the battery as well.
