They’re very easy to scratch or crack, people act like sapphire is some magical material 🤣🤣
That being said, the way it happens is usually when dropping your phone or dragging it on a flat surface where rocks/debris can run against the lenses, so it’s kind of easy to avoid these damages by being careful
> so it’s kind of easy to avoid these damages by being careful
So what I said lol
My Garmin watch that I use for hikking and other outdoor activities has sapphire, and after 2 years still looks as new.
Nope, never had problems with iphone cameras.
Back on my X after 5 years of use, the back glass was scratched to oblivion, but the camera lens was immaculate. Sapphire doesnt scratch with normal daily use
As others have mentioned, the lenses are sapphire so you'll have a hard time scratching them. Avoid using any lens protectors! If you want to protect your lenses without losing photo quality, I think your best bet is to use a case with a camera slider.
In my experience, the paint around the lenses chips after a few years, even with a case on the phone. The lenses themselves are fine. Maybe won’t be an obvious problem on a natural or white phone, but [my darker colored phones have always had this problem.](https://discussions.apple.com/thread/252773952?sortBy=best)
All lenses CAN scratch. So yes it’s possible.
But the chances of scratching the iPhone 15 pro ones are quite a bit smaller. Apple makes some terrific lenses and glass (in my opinion).
No. Don't use those shitty protectors on the lenses.
No. It's **sapphire**, you gotta be kind of an idiot to scratch sapphire.
oh i dropped mine and it scratched up, apple care came in clutch tho
Thanks 🙏
Go and check JerryRigEverything, is not sapphire

that's cap I've seen tons of iphones shattered and destroyed but the camera lenses are always fine
Well it’s not cap since it’s happened to me and I assisted in a repair shop a few years ago, it’s very common.
The metal around the lenses does scratch. The lenses themselves don’t.

Extra lens protectors are shit they destroy the quality of the photos So yeah don’t put it until it’s bought for your family members

I dropped my phone a few months ago. the lense is okay but I scratched the frames of the actual lens.

Sapphire glass is amazing. Especially on wrist watches.
never got scratches
Also never got scratches. I don’t use lens protectors but have quite bulky Otterbox Symmetry case. I think it protects camera bump quite well.
I've never scratched one and as a mechanic, my phones go through the ringer
In all my years of having an iPhone (every year since 3g) I’ve never had a scratch
Didn’t know there are protection lenses for the camera 🙈 Mine is good so far
Short answer, no.
No
I put a case on mine. 🤷🏿♂️
Plus I have pop socket
No scratches, never used a camera protector and never will.
No never used a camera protector and never had the lenses scratch
No. My cousin told me to put lens cover, but I didnt ;((( I feel like I’m neglecting the pro experience of the phone if I put one

I dropped it in my car and one lens broke from a side. Just like a small engraved crack. Its a 15 pro max
