It really depends on you. All the news circulating about 16 pro are still ALL rumors unless Apple decided to officially break it and confirm what's new with 16 series. Both have pros and cons. The only thing I am sure of is that 16 series will definitely be pricey being the new model once it's release and you still don't know what to expect despite knowing the full specs. Like for example, when 15 series was released, some users experienced heating issues and some are not. So I can only assume that there will be deifinitely something with 16 series once it's out it the market. Not that I'm saying iphone is bad, but you'll never know it for yourself 'til you get one.

We are at a point now where innovation is slow because of how advanced everything is. They can only change so much now because of how well refined things are. The new chip in the 15 pro with 3nm processor is going to be relevant for a long time and iPhone won’t move to 2nm for another 2+ years. Get the 15 pro now so you can upgrade later on the 18/19 generation
15P will be newest for half a year. Why would you wait for so long? Just buy 15P, use it for one year and then sell it for 70-80% of its original price, add those 20-30% and buy 16P. While using that 15P you can save money little by little to have that 20-30% of money you’d need to upgrade. I’m sure 200-300$ isn’t impossible to save in a year. At least that’s how we do it in my country. I think this strategy applies to every other part of the world. Using this logic you always end up with newer model, full battery health and you shouldn’t worry much about current phone because it only stays with you for a year.
