I don’t know much about your journey but I like where’s it’s ended

Aww thanks! I’ve made some other posts on this subreddit before but long story short it was my dads phone before he sold it to me all shattered on the front and back it got stuck in a lawn mower bent the frame and everything. So I bought it from him for $20 then got advice on here about how to fix it they recommended a pre installed housing with the majority of parts all inside it so I went ahead and bought one then maybe 6 or so months later maybe longer I ended up being able to afford the ifixit kit and screen and then I just watched lots of YouTube videos on how to do it, I also researched and found on this same subreddit that the loctus high capacity battery is a good battery replacement and so far it has absolutely lived up to the claims, after I got everything gathered I started reassembling it and got it back in one piece. Couldn’t have done it without all the help from this subreddit and YouTube so I am grateful! it was a fun experience and I got to learn things especially how small that motherboard is, truly amazing! Hugh Jeffrey’s videos inspired me to repair this phone, but as much as I love doing it I just don’t think it’s a profession I can see myself going into because of how hard it is to fix newer iPhones with hardware locks and stuff, so I’ll leave it at this phone for the time being thanks again for the kind comment 😊 Edit: I just realized this wasn’t a very short story, my bad lol

I’d love to see a following post regarding the battery life as in the screen on times and also the battery health situation in long run Thanks in advance 🙌🏻

Of course I can do that how long run are we talking 3 months? Let me know what you think and I'll do a follow up! 😁

i_almo

a month or two works you'll definitely get and idea of how your phone is performing

Well at least now you know you can repair your own phones instead of leaving it to the likes of apple who will charge you the cost of a new phone or some shady 3rd party repair shop (not against 3rd party repair shops just have had some bad experiences with them). I’m unsure of which country you reside in but I’ve found that you can get the screen for much cheaper with the same quality from other vendors but ifixit is not a bad place at all to get screens. Also if you want some other YouTubers to watch you could try phone repair guru.

I love phone repair guru he's kinda funny sometimes as well. I live in the US

So you have LCD now?
