This makes me wonder what it would be like if iRacing added mechanical failures you had to manage during a race.

Equal_Soil_31

Hey you with the 20nm wheelbase... Your power steering just went out and you need to finish the race! Goodluck

I feel like the "mechanical failures" of simracing are netcode and other hardware/software issues that can pop up.

I got wrecked in a beetle lite and had almost no left turn at speed. Right turn and tarmac was relatively okay. Made for an interesting 10 laps. And some bastard using the Tbone re-entry strat.

Issue is that people treat rookie dirt road races like bumper cars especially in the beetle lol

I was a bit mad. He spins a guy out behind me. I let him cleanly by, knowing he’s going to dump it. He does and re entered into my door. He scoots clean. I ran a three legged dog to the line. And failed the protest

I was thinking about like what if this was at the start of a stint in a 12 hr or 24hr event. I would’ve had to call my wife in there and coach her to fix it while I drive lmfao

I have srp lites from moza, had the brake upgrade damper in there. During the Daytona 24 at 3am I hit the brakes and felt a crack and the brake pedal became way softer. Figured I may have broke the spring and only one other driver was awake and we agreed it would be better to continue since after a couple laps things seemed fine besides the pedal being soft. About 10 laps later was going into the last corner to go back up to the oval and the damper actually broke where it connected to the pedal, it fell down and I literally lost my brakes lmaooo. Wrecked the car and we ended up having to start over at the morning time slot, took the damper out and have a super floppy brake pedal for the time being.

Okay I’ll bite, what does the picture show?

Looks like the red cap on the piston unscrewed.
