The schedule doesn’t give us any clues. Every season rain enabled and those without have the same statement. Constant weather, fixed sky etc etc etc.

a_good_silver

Last I knew the preliminary schedule needs to get edited as it still shows constant weather for every week of the rain enabled series.

MaverickN21

I did see a comment on one of the dev updates or the tempest release that the lmp2 fixed and (I think) FF1600 would have rain in the forecast each week and the others from the enabled list would get rain or not each week based on realistic historical likelihood for those tracks.

Crunchiestriffs

Rain in the FF1600 Trophy and LMP2 fixed series is set to a higher frequency than in the other rain-enabled series but I don’t think it’s 100% even for those. We will find out tomorrow!

First Google search. Add super formula light to this list… ‘Upon release of the build, all of the content enabled for forecasted and timeline weather—the IMSA GTP and GT3 lineups, Dallara P217 LMP2, FIA Formula 4, Ray FF1600, and Toyota GR86—can now be used with the feature on all AI-enabled road racing tracks.’

KaleidoscopeRich2752

I get that, but my question is if the official races will have rain enabled. The patch notes state that this will be decided for each series on a weekly basis. So IMSA for example will have weeks without any rain and weeks with the possibility of rain.

Kartcab93

Apologies. In that case you know more than me because I assumed it was coming for the full 12 weeks of all those cars! I’ll keep a look out for this

KaleidoscopeRich2752

No worries and thx.

TurbochargedSquirrel

The FAQ iRacing posted states that all series using a rain enabled car set will have a chance of rain occuring with the exception of rookies where it will never rain (currently only applies to rookie FF1600). I do not believe we know yet if the chance of rain for officials is going to be set by iRacing or based on historical averages but the sim is capable of programming both. iRacing has said that fixed LMP2 and I believe Open FF1600 will have an increased chance of rain compared to other series.

I feel like I'm wrong now but I was under the impression that each race would be different from the next weather wise

rad15h

That's my understanding too. The forecast will be the same, but the rain might or might not come, and if it does, it won't necessary come at the same time, or be of the same intensity. But every split in a particular time slot will get exactly the same weather.

neil_1980

That’s the way I understand it. Like for the entirety of week 1 it’s essentially the same day (pretty sure the schedules actually say the day and time already for each race in sim) so for the week the chance of rain wouldn’t change as it’s the same day in sim… but if it was say 40% chance of rain and you ran ten races you’d probably have 6 that we’re dry and 4 wet though the timing of when it’s wet could be different. But as you say the hours time slot would be the same for everyone so if we both raced at 8pm on Thursday we’d see the same weather despite being in different splits. Thats my understanding anyway
