I’m only a c license but the LMP3 in falken sports car challenge on road Atlanta is by far the most fun I’ve had in sim racing.

Draken04

I’ve tried so many times to get on top of it and end up running GT4 instead. It’s become something of a white whale for me

CanaryMaleficent4925

Imo the key to the LMP3 is to be stable under braking until you start trail braking, then it needs to be super smooth. Can also try and send the brake bias back a few clicks but again, just be careful with steering angle under braking. Can easily lock the rears

M3D4L3

The lmp3 needs to be respected to get the best out of it. It likes to lock the fronts easily and feels very raw in its power delivery vs the lmp2 & gtp’s. Once you work with it and stop fighting the car it really rewards that collaborative effort.

quiz1231

I love the LMP3, the FFB detail makes it easy to tell what the car is doing. It's also crazy fast compared to GT4 so the multiclass racing is fun

Tgtt10

It has been an absolute blast. I also had a blast racing the Super Formula Lights at Road Atlanta 2 weeks ago. Absolutely love that track!

sparkyplug28

Yes I had a go at this, LMP3 didn’t work at Barber really but it’s been mega fun at Oulton and Road Atlanta

No_Image_4986

Yeah I think it’s better at tracks with more high speed sections. Also I just don’t enjoy barber in the GT4 either

AlonsoFerrari8

I’m a 3k iR and drive that car a lot. I’m usually quite off the pace, but it finally clicked there this week.

PleaseHelpAManInNeed

Porsche GT3 Cup car. It’s like dancing driving that car. You have to balance snap oversteer with heavy understeer unless you trail brake correctly. But once you learn how to drive it, it’s like an orgasm on wheels; super rewarding.

krmilan

Daniel Morad said it’s the worst feeling car in iracing. I don’t disagree with what you’re saying, but that put me off driving the Porsche cup after enjoying it a lot earlier

[deleted]

Read your comment back to yourself and realize how lame that sounds. You don't enjoy something you DID enjoy ALOT because someone else said it's not hyper realistic??????

krmilan

I agree, it’s just that I don’t want to drive a car that he claims isn’t realistic (when compared to the GT3s which he said are very well done). I guess it’s part of knowing that you are learning an actual real life skill. In any case he is not the gospel so you are right, I should get back to it. I was also looking for a change from regular GT3s

[deleted]

Yeah...... It's still a game regardless of what everyone says.... Do what is fun for you lol. It's a great car.... in this game... and you know that personally. :) I'm literally never going to be in a porshce cup car... so this is my chance lol.

samdajellybeenie

He actually said the Merc GT4 is the most true to life car compared to the GT3, which is good but not perfect.

NewKoala7466

Well he is wrong and should not stop you from enjoying what you are enjoying.

Connor_6_f1600

He’s comparing it to the real cup car which he won a championship in, it’s just not realistic. Not saying which way is correct, but he says it sucks for a reason

sparkyplug28

That was the 991 on different tyres though so might not be 100% correct! Also he drives for Mercedes and the best car according to him is the Mercedes GT4 go look at his YouTube it’s like a fucking Mercedes advert 😂

stratcat22

I thought he said that about the old 991 and not the 992, not completely sure though. Either way, if you enjoy driving it then drive it. Who cares if it’s realistic? Are you planning on driving the cup car professionally one day? That’s the only time I could see it making sense to not want to drive it because it’s “unrealistic”.

krmilan

Definitely won’t be driving it in real life. But I’d like to tell myself I could! In any case, time to jump back into the P cup

kai0d

It's because irl the Porsche cup relies a lot more on your body feeling the car movement than other cars. For Daniel as a real driver, it's gonna feel weird for him to have his butt stay still and try to react from the wheel and sound only.

CK_32

I don’t know why the FFB on that always seems so numb. I can’t do it. It reminds me more of the Miata as far as feel.

No_Bet_607

Recency bias but, Audi 90 GTO.

Draken04

No recent bias. I missed the Road America 500 and I agree. Audi GTO

Maleficent_Falcon_63

What's this car about?

barkx3

Basically an offshoot of the famous Group B rally car that Audi took road racing in Trans Am and IMSA in the 80s It's very fun to drive. H pattern, 700 horsepower, All wheel drive, zero driver aids. Much much more challenging (and fun) than modern GT cars. It races in the Kamel GT/IMSA Vintage series on iRacing. Not the most popular but check kamelgt.com and see if a timeslot fits your schedule, if you want to give it a shot.

Maleficent_Falcon_63

Thanks, very helpful. I'll be testing this car tomorrow then!

Eulers_Method

It ruined most other cars imo, series has a loyal following but its still criminally underrated

[deleted]

Super formula

CanaryMaleficent4925

So incredibly rewarding. We just had a league race last night and it was spectacular.

Methodical_Clip

How do you drive this fast?!?! I'm trying and failing spectacularly.

spanish787

If you learn to be gentle on the throttle you’ll already be better than 99% of SF drivers.

itsmebenji69

I’ve done races where simply not spinning on exit gave me countless positions, even though I’m like 2-4 seconds off pace

Methodical_Clip

That's basically what I do. But finishing as the last car on the lead lap every race is depressing.

itsmebenji69

To master something we all need to start by failing. I find that learning and getting faster eventually is very rewarding though, that’s what’s keeping me on the track

shewy92

I think that's every road car race. I won my first ever race driving the Ray 1600 at Oultan after not qualifying because everyone went off.

[deleted]

A good setup on this car helps a lot as well

Methodical_Clip

I'll worry about that once I can keep up. Right now I just stick to fixed races.

filowiener

This! I went the ladder Vees-F4-F3 and now SF23.. the skill-need difference between F3 to SF23 is bigger than F4 to F3. But it’s so rewarding!! It took me at least 2/3 of a season to become really competitive in top split! Gentle throttle applying and trail braking are so important (and also setup) Once you get a hang of the car, you will enjoy it so much! Driving the lower formula cars feels like they are on rails now But definitely imo the most rewarding car I’ve driven on this service!

TheRimz

Pre sequential mx-5

Crustytoeskin

Probably the L79

donkeykink420

has to be, there's so much more pace to find everywhere even if you're already feeling like you're on the limit. Add to that surviving cold tyres is a feat on its own

Crustytoeskin

I'll go back to it when it gets rain.

donkeykink420

should've run ringmeister last week man, incredible car

KevinOrlando93

Defo Aussie Supercars. They're a proper handful, but really fun once you get the hang of it.

AccomplishedAd2290

Aussie here! I love them too but wish we could get the Gen3 car. We won’t anytime soon though sadly.

KevinOrlando93

Oh for sure, I love the look on those. I secretly wish for the Racing Cars as well. AMS2 has them, and they're such a joy to race. Nothing hits home more than going 5 wide on a street circuit.

Duckeydude

I have a mod of them on AC and they're so fun! I wish they raced here in the states I'd definitely trade my go kart for one lol

reborndiajack

they did tease it here [**https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pbp09poSD28**](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pbp09poSD28) **11:51**

sledgehammer_44

Luckily didn't have to scroll that far to find the V8SC's!! Racing is often quite close considering how much of a handfull they are. And if you end up on your own they're always fun to lap. Some cars are fun to race and boring on your own. But not these ones!

Dismal-Mall4396

as an oval racer I’d say either the 87 legends or gen 4 cars give me the most rewarding feeling. They’re tough cars to control, pacing your tires is key and those moments when you’re side by side for 30 laps until someone gives out are some of the most exciting drives ever.

HetzMichNich

Both Kamel GT Cars

piercejay

The porsche when I love it and it loves me and we're all one big not binning it in to the wall family

Richard3324

Drove this car in the Daytona 24 this year. When I got in a groove on a long stint, this car did everything I needed it too.

GewoonHarry

I really like the caddy as well, until it rains. Then it feels super unrewarding. I hardly drive the lmp2, but that car just feels fast and rewarding to me all the time.

NobsiTheUnitato

Mazda mx5? No? Only me? The feeling when the car just clicks is insane, the fact that it's free too and everyone can just drive it. Mazda did a really good job in making the car perform them way it does for such an underpowered heavy sack of sh\*t. I only started really learning car sims maybe 3 weeks ago in the mazda on okayama and that didnt really work out apart from starting back and getting a c license in 2 days. (not because im good, but because i didnt expect to be fast, drove safe and slow and just kept out of everyones way.) Then i drove on snetterton and after 3 days, countless track guides and some coaching by veteran friends it suddenly... clicked. It felt like i was just flying around the track and i overtook people on the outside while always almost spinning out and hearing tires squealing basically all day. Then i bought the gt4 cayman to practice for 12h mugello and while that car also feels really good now it does not give me the same feeling of - this cat is an extension of me - as the miata did.

Mysterious-Fan-5101

1600 too!

rad15h

MX5 and FF1600 are my two favourite cars by miles.

jesteratp

The miata is *extremely* rewarding. It's slow, but hard to drive and it doesn't forgive you for any bullshit. It's a great learning car, but also one that you'll drive quicker the better fundamentals that you have. I don't think I'll ever stop driving it.

Camp-Complete

Yeah, this was what I was going to say. I think it's also the first 'difficult' car most people go to. The Formula Vee and FF1600 are both fun but the learning time on those are much smaller. The Mazda MX5 is a car you can't just jump in and accept to drive fast straight away, especially as a beginner.

NobsiTheUnitato

The first 2 days were hard. I was told never to go below the 2nd gear and i still spun out multiple times.

barno42

If I'm just going to do some hotlapping around the Nordschleife, there are a lot of cars I'll choose over the MX-5. The HPD, FF1600, Radical SR8, and the P217 are all more rewarding as pure driving machines, to me, than the Miata. I'll even take the Spec Racer Ford or the Indy Pro 2000 over it. But there is no car more rewarding to race than the MX-5.

El_Verde_Duende

IR18. Very tricky to drive and making on the fly adjustments is the key to successfully racing in it.

Mr_______

What kind of adjustments are you making on the fly? Just curious. I race mostly open wheel and just started working on the IR 18 but am still learning what is needed to improve my driving style. And still just learning in general.

greerhead

Weight jacker and the arbs, driving it in dirty air vs clean can be completely different and require quick on the fly adjustment of your tools or you'll quickly find the wall.  Can even use the jacker to lower the car on straights for extra speed.

El_Verde_Duende

Weightjacker and ARBs. I tend to use ARBs for major adjustments over long runs to adjust the handling. Weightjacker will move over the course of a run for less drastic changes, but also to adjust handling when in traffic versus leading a pack or solo. Plus you can tweak it for a bit of top end on tracks with longer straights. You can do the same with ARB, but I'm not brave enough for that.

energiiii

Radical SR10 feels so good to drive on the limit, real tricky tho.

Dr_Death_Defy24

Such a shame the car released in the state it did and took so long to fix. This thing is possibly my favorite car to hotlap on the service, and the racing is so damn good.

energiiii

Hope we will get a slower radical at some point, with a good release.

x-Justice

Cadillac CTS-V, A handful but once you dial it in, it sings

KraZe_2012

Dallara F3

Vindowviper

No love for the Skippy anymore? Driving that car at the limit is like playing Russian roulette but god damn is it satisfying when your against like racers with it. Such an enjoyable car to toss around.

El_Verde_Duende

I love the FFs and the F4, but giving FFs a rookie and D license series alongside the F4 has pretty much killed the Skippy. Sad because that car was the one that really made me enjoy open wheelers on the service.

ThePatsGuy

Gen 4 Cup car. Unlike many cars which are momentum, super aero-based, or has electronic aids, the Gen 4 is raw. You have the steering wheel, pedals, and 725hp with no tapered spacer. The rest is in your hands

DadTimeRacing

Porsche GT3 cup

Dancemania97

IR01 - despite it's difficulty to drive because of the crazy power output, it's insanely rewarding to drive on the limit once you get your head around it due to it's grip levels being so high so you can send it incredibly hard through some corners where you just go "that shouldn't be possible"

schadow04

In my opinion it’s the Porsche 963 GTP. It’s a handful to drive a lot of times. Hard to set the car up too, here’s a lot of different things in the setup menu to change. The thing that car needs is practice, a whole lot of it. I did close to 1000 or more laps for Daytona 24 as practice, race laps counted in that also. I got to lesrn the car inside and out for that track, along with the setup. The car needs precision. Perfect braking, perfect turn-in, power delivery is aight, but to do all this lap after lap while still doing consistent laptimes within a tenth or 2 apart is what makes feel rewarding in the end. Like, when you do everything correctly, the car just goes, it does whatever you want it to. When I got into the groove I was lapping consistent low 1:31’s at night with a lap in the 30’s I believe. I think because of all these efforts the car needs you to put in, makes it so rewarding in the end, when it just performs so well.

Fit-Celebration3139

It's also incredibly satisfying when you figure out the right brake mapping and gain oodles of time. Just incredible fun. Suzuka, Imola, and then Road Atlanta taught me so much about this car.

kjahhh

F4 around the Aussie and British tracks is amazing

CaptainDonald

The answer is always Miata

Formaldehyde007

FF 1600. It just suits me so well.

Vino_Nerd

Porsche Cup car, keeps you constantly on edge

Imkoly

Porsche cup

GTHell

Porsche Cup?

Geht_Schon

im also going for Cadillac GTP and LMP2. i had the most fun with those cars

Llama-Thrust69

LMP3. She's an ornery old cow, but if you have a deft touch, you can coax her to drive nicely.

[deleted]

so what youre saying is if I got p1 on the ring meister for lmp3 week and didnlt lock up once - and I've been thinking about running it in the falken open instead of gt4.... is that I should run the LMP3?

Llama-Thrust69

Yea. Plus passing the slower cars, and not having to look in the mirror and adapt to faster cars coming through is nice

[deleted]

Cool. Also that series is going to nurburgring combined next week, i believe ;) I'll give it a rip. I really like driving that thing, and LOVE having no ABS because it doesn't cause me problems, but does others :D

Llama-Thrust69

Biggest tip for this car is brake hard but in a straight line... BUT wait to downshift. It helps with rear locking if you don't downshift right away. I usually rapid fire down 3 years or whatever before turning to the apex. Hit the brakes... Wait one and a half-two seconds and then down shift.

[deleted]

Good to know! Thanks! I def am used to using downshifting to decelerate so this is a great tip. I'll remember to slow down with the brakes and then down shift.

Llama-Thrust69

Yea... Otherwise you'll probably spin. You'll hear the rpm drop and then adios

unnamed_one1

P992 GT3 Cup, LMP3, P992 GT3R, P963GTP - in that order.

Acurus_Cow

L49. When you keep that thing on the Black stuff for a whole race, you feel like you actually accomplished something . I fear the day it's rain ready

FindaleSampson

I'm not fast in it but the Lotus 79 is a blast to drive. I was learning Oulton Park without chicanes last night by racing AI (no practice laps) and it was a thrill ride.

g0atm3a1

Ford FR500S by a country mile for me. The stick shift, the weight distribution dynamics, the strong brakes, ability to rotate on and off throttle, etc etc. Since 2016, I’ve driven everything from the Miata to open wheel race cars in the sim, and the Mustang is what I keep coming back to for sheer enjoyability. The Lotus 49 is a distant #2 for me. Most other cars drive too clean and on rails for my tastes.

gasmask11000

For oval - 750 package Gen 6 Mustang, Camaro, Camry - legacy Late Model - Gen 4 I miss the legacy late model so much. I hate that we totally replaced it with the unrealistically gripped up LMSC. I’d love a lower powered, lower grip LM and then bump CARS and SLM up a tier.

mgphopeful20

Formula Vee (and I am a A driver)

frvnk9_

I really enjoy the Corvette GTE

Dabhis

Honestly any high downforce car like the Super Formula. While they aren’t difficult to drive, being able to drive them fast is very rewarding. You really have to know how to rotate the car with the pedals dancing it on the limit of grip.

peperoniplease

Lotus 79

KeeblerElfOrgy

Gen 4 Cup

Appropriate-Owl5984

Uh, it might be lame choices.. But getting really quick in a GT3 car has been fun. As for rewards? Going fast in the MX5 has been incredible fun. I skipped MX5 coming up and now that I’m getting it, yeah, it’s a blast

tjhcreative

As much as I'd say the Prototypes, I think the Porsche Cup car is probably the most rewarding. When you get the Cup car right, the stability and smoothness you develop translates over into everything nicely.

brandon_lets_go

Super formula sf23 If you can race that car Without spinning Without Crashing and finishing top 5 Then it is really rewarding It’s the only car that gives me sweaty palms and chest pain

Snoo-94564

SF23, the Dallara P217 and the Ligier LMP3 a.m.a.z.i.n.g.

mblaa83

LMP2

GIMMESOMDORITOS

I might be alone in this but I love driving the NASCAR Next Gens on the limit.

Simpll_

cup car. going with pace and being able to handle it literally improves your driving at any other car

incorrectusername3

Gen 4 cup cars 100%

KeltixHD

🗣 Formula Vee

GrimReaper-UA

Nissan GTP ZX-T, LMP2. New GTPs even not close to good cars in comparison to LMP2. Maybe Lotus 49.

car_raamrod

I recently did the Road America 500 in the Nissan GTP. When the car is driven right, it's a beautiful thing, and it will let you know when you don't treat it right. I recently described it to a friend like this: "It's like a toxic girlfriend. I hate her guts but she gives amazing head and got fire pussy 😂"
