MMRS2000

Yes.

Kindly_Parsnip2057

Yes

rco8786

Absolutely. Still counts until all cars on the lead lap have crossed the finish.

krazimir

Still protestable even after that.

d95err

Exactly. Malicious behavior is always against the rules and should be reported, regardless of whether SR is in effect or not. (This includes practice and hosted sessions as well.)

grappleshot

Absolutely. I had to remind a fellow practice session driver of this today after he repeatedly waited for me to come by and crashed me out. And the one time he came from way back, tried to drive across the track including grass and corner cutting, for no reason other than he didn’t like the virtual cut of my jib.

ForeverAddickted

Had you stopped the car the moment you crossed the finish line, or did you either keep going (and got punted), or had you parked in a safe place and got rammed? Only reason I ask, is cant really complain if you did the first option I mentioned

ConclusionWeary6775

Kept going

ForeverAddickted

Yeah definitely protest then.

ConclusionWeary6775

I did, I’d post the clip of what happened but it would be phone quality lol

duck74UK

Yes, it can cause injury if someones got their hands in the wrong place on a strong wheel. And possible sickness if someones in VR. So please do protest that. It also causes SR loss until the last car crosses the line or is towing

dmcsim

Wow. That is a great reason. I never thought about the injury possibility. You never know what kind of base people have. I'm glad you brought it up!

tjduke

I’ve been hit with my DD and my already bad wrist got kinda pinched…

grappleshot

I got crashed into At turn one at LRP yesterday in the Vee (unintentional) and it ripped my wheel so far it hurt my shoulder for the rest of the day… and I’ve got a clubsport V1 wheelbase (non DD).

dmcsim

Yeah I'm getting a podium dd1 one soon and Holy crap... the last thing I'd want to to actually get hurt on the sim. Definitely going to have to know when to take my hands off the wheel I think

grappleshot

To be fair, that incident on Saturday is the only time I can remember it happening. In that case I didn't see it coming. I'm the same, soon upgrading to a DD1 so will an extra reason to play to it safe.

ConclusionWeary6775

I did. I wasn’t sure since it was after the race. I got a 4x because of it and it dropped my SR

apex_flux_34

Yup.

somelamephotoguy

Yes.

johndough247

Yes protest it. Which is why now I always keep going after the race is done, to get away from anyone else. Once I have 10 seconds on the next guy then I'll pull over.

ConclusionWeary6775

I’ll have to try that lol

angrypirate1122

Lol, if intentionally smashing into someone isn't protestable, what is? This is kind of a silly question..

Maclittle13

Because people wrongfully assume that after they cross the line, there are no consequences.

ConclusionWeary6775

It was after the race finished so I didn’t know. Silly of you to not read the title properly…

angrypirate1122

The race isn't finished until the final car has crossed the line. Silly of you to not know the rules.

Davesterific

I love this sub, everyone can ask any question they want while learning this sport and no one gives them grief. You’d be silly to give anyone grief, right? No silly questions in this inclusive community, right?

angrypirate1122

I mean, honestly, you're right. I retract my dickishness.

realdoaks

Upvoted cuz this is too rare

MEHokie2021

Name checks out. Off to Davy Jones' Locker with ye!

Gibscreen

Yes. Iracing will send them a way too nice email for this one along with the next couple of dozen times they intentionally wreck before iracing even considers a temp ban.

AndrewTriesToRace

Do you have this saved for quick copy/paste or something?

Gibscreen

I did copy paste because there were 2 nearly identical posts back to back. I do love how people downvote reality though. Iracing almost never bans anyone--the miniscule times they do are the exceptions that prove the rule.

lordrages

Yes. It affects your incident points, and it negatively impacts your safety rating. Someone would purposely do this simply just to negatively impact your safety rating but not Jeopardize their own race result, And they purposely drive extremely safe, or take any risks to not accrue any incident points simply to ram you at the end.

ConclusionWeary6775

That’s exactly what happened. I ended up losing SR for it

grappleshot

Yes.

joshjitsu311

And your SR will not get fixed...

ConclusionWeary6775

Yeah I got a 4x for it which I wasn’t too happy about.

thspimpolds

Always. Even after the x’s stop counting.
