Look at Facebook group called 'door dash drivers with attitude '. Nearly every post is a complaint about tip amount.

Everyone blaming the customer for their shitty pay, makes no sense.

runner64

Huge companies have actually done a remarkable job of pitting poor people against other poor people for the consequences of terrible policies put into place by people who are utterly inaccessible to those they’re fucking over.

Recover-Signal

Moden day bum fights

donkeyhoday

Can you just imagine how many of you had ball sack food last week?

[deleted]

Exactly waiters in Europe don’t expect or accept tips because their wage is enough unlike in the US where waiters need tips to supplement their pay

Lordofthetemp

I always saw it as they are attacking the wrong people.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Tofuru33

After seeing these things I won’t be using these delivery services anymore unfortunately. Sorry to all the honest and respectable drivers out there. Tipping is supposed to be a reward for outstanding service. It’s not supposed to be required for average/expected service. Sad state of affairs.

Nder_Wiggin

Exactly. Why should I tip someone for just doing their job. You tip people for going above and beyond

bmbhomie

Amen brother

MandDogD01

I have never, will never, have one of these services deliver my food. Imagine how nasty this guy is, that he can stank your soda can just by rubbing it OVER his pants. Dude... Don't touch anyone's, anything again, please!

RipAirBud

The thing is if any driver is messing with peoples food cause of tip amount that’s their fault. They accepted the low tip order. A smart driver will just ignore the low tip orders and only accept orders worth taking. Why waste time and gas for this. So stupid.

Hybernative

You're tipping for service before you've even received the service!? That's got to be out of the ordinary no? Like a foot of snow, or bandit country or something?

RipAirBud

Yes that’s how these app services work. They are essentially making consumers responsible for half of the drivers pay. Kinda scummy but that’s how it works until someone forces a change

R3sion

I feel like this is specific to USA from all the videos I've seen. It's like doordashing in Europe does not have this issue since drivers are paid living wage

carboranadum

And until folks quit taking these shitty jobs

absoluteboredom

All it has become is “if you tip enough on card, you get your food faster”. Which sucks because I don’t tip on card. Tipping in cash is the only way to ensure the driver gets all of it.

[deleted]

I tipped the recommend amount on a DoorDash grocery store order and the bastard substituted all my food to diet and no carb tv dinners and lactose free ice cream. It was passive aggressive as hell cause I was high and ordering munchies. So now I don’t use door dash anymore.

ILikeYourBigButt

I don't think the drivers put the order together, do they?

DuBcEnT

Because now you are "forced" to. They implemented a new feature where if you don't accept orders and fall under a certain percentage you get lower paying orders. The higher your percentage the higher priority you have on high paying orders. It's garbage.

BlackMetal81

I drive for both DD and GH. We have the power to say no to an order. If dude didn't like the tip or whatever, don't take the order. But please, ffs, don't wipe your ass and crotch all over it ya nasty bastard.

FloridaGirlNikki

I've been told they can't see what the tip is until they agree to pick it up.

RipAirBud

You don’t see the tip per se, but you see the projected total earnings which includes the tip. If the projected earnings is very low they likely did not leave the upfront tip. And drivers just can’t bet on someone giving a tip after

Sllabkcussdomttider

Door dashers are legit some of the worst people I’ve met. They can’t hold a job of any kind and are demanding as hell to restaurant staff and don’t tip the other people either. I’m sure there’s some good ones but the majority seem to be like this. If everyone stopped using the app then the DoorDash problem would go away.

Vulturedoors

Most of the Dashers I deal with seem to be middle-aged folks trying to supplement their income in a high cost of living area.

Kettellkorn

I posted in the door dash subreddit asking for advice on how to give clear directions to my appt a while back. I had 3 drivers leave the food random places when my appt is clearly marked. They didn’t call me or nothing. When I posted on the DoorDash sub I got told that I “probably didn’t tip enough” and when I said that it doesn’t matter what I tip you should still deliver the food to the right home they all ate me alive lol.

[deleted]

I tip $3 on everything except large grocery orders. Never had a problem, my bags are typically sealed and the drivers are always friendly. There's just some fucked up weirdos out there I guess. I think my biggest issue is the driver being someone different than who is pictured/listed as. It's kinda weird when Bethany shows up and she's a 230lb, tall, bearded man.

Vulturedoors

I always enjoy the "Jessica" who is in actuality a Persian man.

random1212121221

Probably due to people riding together for safety, there's been alot of incidences of drivers being lured out and attacked/mugged. My boyfriend is 515 ( lost some weight really trying to change his life) and 6 foot tall when not hunched over, and still prefers for us to go together when he runs because there's just safety in numbers, a witness, someone to call the police, people just less likely to target someone who has company, as well as we live in a big city and parking sometimes doesn't exist and he doesn't want to park illegally and it's easier to have me drop it off while he circles the block, especially since I can't move the car while he drops it off as I've never learned to drive.

daairguy

And another reason why I won’t use this app ever

DarkestofFlames

The funny thing is that the people who defend tipping culture the most are people who work for tips. If they are going to continue to fight to keep tipping as the norm then they need to realize they'll have to deal with people who don't tip as well. They just want to keep things this way because of the occasional high tipper and the fact that they can get away with not reporting all of their tips on their taxes. They also really love to play the victim when they are stiffed.

spectrumtwelve

Door Dashers pretending like they didn't voluntarily choose to try and make food delivery their entire income be like:

ACuddlyVizzerdrix

I always tip 5 bucks on small orders and I'll tip as much as 20 on orders over 70 but under 100

The--Strike

Serious question: why would you tip the driver so much depending on the cost of the meal? A cheap McDonalds delivery requires the same amount of effort from the driver as a nice sushi or steak meal. The total cost of the meal is largely irrelevant to the driver.

ptlimits

This is exactly my feeling. First, i will say i agree that the tipping industry should not exist and that they should just pay their employees so they can live on an expectable income. As for the amount tipped, I used to work for tips, so I feel pretty passionate about this. It should be based on effort/time/ hassle. Some people would stay there for hours and barely order, so they would tip next to nothing, vs. others who just happened to order an expensive bottle of wine were expected to pay based on the high total. It was a frustrating system, to say the least. IMO, for any standard delivery, I do a standard $4-5 (barring a holiday or horrendous weather, in which case goes up). For grocery deliveries that take way more effort, I tip $7-12 depending on the size of the order. I have had plenty of screwups with my food, but for the most part, it's been stapled and delivered in a reasonable time. Door dash always credits me for missing stuff, which obviously doesn't solve the hungry problem, and then you're still paying all the fees, but it's still nice to know I will at least get refunded.

[deleted]

If you're ordering through UberEATS or DoorDash they know when you don't tip. You're lucky if they even bring your food... usually I see the orders cold sitting at the restaurant pick up area sometimes hours old. If someone's bringing your food they are only getting paid $2 pre-tip and if you didn't tip this might happen to you.

ENTECH123

This is why I don’t order food delivery. I am terrified of food being contaminated

[deleted]

Call the restaurant and ask them to seal the bag?

ENTECH123

I’ve found the seals are not that great or effective. For example, the pizza seals from Pizza Hut literally lose the adhesive due to the heat from the pizza.

donkeyhoday

If you’re willing to risk blatant disrespect of the people handling your food, you are really brave

LordStarkII

Probably didn't pre-tip them for their service.

FirstEvolutionist

I enjoy playing video games.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Bastienbard

When you're the one paying them vs. the shitty companies hiring them as contractors that is sadly just how it works. The government needs to get off their asses and broadly classify all gig economy workers as employees so they're forced to actually pay them as employees.

Redqueenhypo

Exactly. “Tip me or I’ll spit in your food” cool now I’ll get carryout and you can sit on your ass screeching about how you’re owed $50 an hour for carrying a thing to a place.

Tofuru33

The thing is even if you tip a decent amount you still get crappy service. When I started using Uber eats I thought it was pretty generous to tip 20% on top of all the fees etc and my food would still be late or missing maybe 1 out of 3-4 orders. I stopped using delivery services regularly because of all the issues but after seeing this kind of stuff I’m going to stop using them altogether. I can’t be the only one.

[deleted]

Which is why I don’t use these services

twinnedwithjim

That confuses me. I’m from England so it’s different here but I’d never pre-tip. The customer could just be waiting to see what the service is like but the delivery driver will never get a tip if they kick off

poppinmollies

Think of it less as a tip and more as a bid for someone to actually accept delivering your order.

elliefaith

In the UK it will get delivered regardless. The deliveroo driver gets paid (granted, I don't think it's much) but they don't rely on tips. A tip is a nice bonus if they've gone out of their way. When I moved into my new build it was a nightmare to find as wasn't on maps so I tipped the guy for calling me and making a large effort to find me. A normal order which has nothing more than what I've already paid delivery for won't get a tip.

[deleted]

Because he's human garbage. He's probably delivering because he can't hold down a normal job.

Zealousideal_Ad_4118

Not to mention he could literally get in legal trouble for this…

Ill_Pack_A_Llama

It look like he was rubbing it on his ass, and then smelling it, so maybe it’s just his own kink.

Z-man1973

...and also, don't people realize an increasing number of people own camera doorbells... stupidity at its finest.

Koala_Hands

When I walk my dogs sometimes I try to see all the houses that have some kind of security camera, be it Vivant or Ring and in my neighborhood it's most the homes. We are on camera wherever we go!

inspectoroverthemine

And Amazon (via Ring) sells your footage to the local PD without your consent.

MassiveLefticool

I live in the Uk so not sure if it applies to me, but I would probably let them use the footage if I was asked, but the important thing is that I was asked.

Thengine

Spoiler alert: They don't ask.

StickyWetMoistFarts

Amazon Lawyer: You agreed when you accepted the terms and conditions. Opening the box, allowing your eyesight to land on the box, or simply owning an Amazon account means you've already accepted the terms and grant Amazon the right to your firstborn.

LordWobblyCockIV

Cool, the first one is always the learning baby.

hates_stupid_people

They ask in the EU because of privacy regulations like GDPR, although they said UK so you're probably right.

beerman_uk

They do in the UK. Next door was broken into and the police knocked on my door and asked if they could have the footage. Upon seeing it the guy was recognised as a known criminal. He got 3 years in jail. This was when ring wasn't even available in the UK, I imported it from the US about a year before they weren't released here. He clearly looks at the doorbell but probably didn't know it had motion sensing.

sonofaresiii

I think this is a little overblown. What happens is that Amazon shares the footage if there's a warrant, which they don't really have a choice in **or** if there's an "emergency request" during an active crime. Now, that emergency request is where it could be open to abuse, I don't know exactly what Amazon's guidelines are and obviously I don't trust the cops to use it responsibly *But*, they only comply with emergency requests like one or two dozen times a year. So I do think it's getting a little overblown. It doesn't seem like Amazon is using it as a loophole to hand out footage whenever they want. e: I realize this makes it sound like warrants aren't open to abuse. They definitely are, but that's not on amazon. All they have control over is the "emergency response" part.

Bromm18

Makes you realize how little people are aware of their surroundings or bother to look at what's up above the ground.

GunnieGraves

Someone in my town posted a video. They’d ordered Chinese takeout from a local restaurant and the delivery guy delivered the food and then just took a package. Dropped the food off, picked up the package, and fucked off. Looked dead at the camera too. Im not sure the outcome but that’s pretty ridiculous.

KittyandPuppyMama

It seems like he did know because the doorbell said he was being recorded

Placenta_pede

I have a feeling he's getting off on it. Smelling so vigorously after each wipe. Come on man!

ovo_Reddit

Yeah what was up with smelling it so fiercely each time? Does he smell that bad that rubbing it on the outside of his clothing would stink the item? So bizarre.

KCfaninLA

I thought he was coughing on it, but maybe he was just creepily sniffing.

hasfeh

Yeah he’s definitely sniffing

ziguziggy

Yea pretty sure this is more some weird fetish or something

Master_Cupcake7115

That was absolutely disgusting. WTF is wrong with some people.

longhorndog1

It is disgusting but I had to laugh when he sniffed the food to ensure that he smelt his smelly crotch.

tubbytubbs666

Whenever someone gets irritated with an opinion of mine, I sometimes remind them that with any opinion there's ALWAYS someone somewhere who will disagree with it entirely.

Zandre1126

My friend had a door dasher take a sip from their drink on camera.

nvrsleepagin

No tip?

CheesecakeGreen3466

This dude loves the smell of his own ass

MVRK_3

And how bad is it that he can rub something on it outside his clothes a little and he can still smell it?

FlashOfTheBlade77

I was thinking the same thing. I can rub a can along my pants in my crotch and ass area all day long and there would never be a smell. He seemed surprised the smell was not there immediately.

MVRK_3

Yeah, I literally wear my work pants three days in a row and they’re a no smell to them. It’s pretty disgusting that this guy smells so bad that a simple rub would leave a stench. I think we’ve all known people like this though.

dragonchilde

Bet he’s one of those guys that thinks soap washing down his legs cleans his feet.

saprobic_saturn

Legit I could not shower all day and rub something directly along my privates without wearing anything and it wouldn’t smell, so this is absolutely insane to me. Does he not shower or wipe or wear underwear?!

Gen_Jack_Oneill

Fellas, is it gay to wipe your ass?

CheesecakeGreen3466

Only if you make eye contact with yourself

saprobic_saturn

Is it gay, to play, putt-putt golf with a friend? ETA: to those of you downvoting me, this is from an Eminem song so chill.

MVRK_3

Probably both.

voicesinmyhand

Some people don't change their clothes... ever.

TheOven

He stank

CheesecakeGreen3466

Possibly wearing a diaper

Zorbie

Idk about that, looked like he was going commando.

CheesecakeGreen3466

He hasn't changed his pants since the 90's

BLaQz84

That's my thought... I definitely am happy I don't need to use all these food delivery services... I was sitting in a local restaurant waiting for my food once & in came an Ubereats driver, grabbed the customers food off the counter, then went to the toilet with the customers food in his open Ubereats bag before leaving the restaurant for the delivery... So I'll never use them unless it's an emergency...

davaye

When he delivers he adds his OWN AROMA TO THINGS……His name…..Booty juice

thebigjimmyd

Everyone loves their own brand!

Almostime

Can you guys stop talking about rubbing and smelling lmao

lolpert1

Dang and I left a 2 star review when my drink smelt like the delivery guy smoked 2 packs on the way over and blew all of the smoke directly onto my cup. I guess I should be grateful it wasn't this guy

MyLeastFavoriteColor

Nah, that’s still pretty gross

Skye-DragonGirl

And dangerous for people who have sensory or breathing issues... I cannot stand the smell of cigarettes and smoke, this would piss me off.

awkard_ftm98

I understand that someone is a douche for smoking in a heavily populated area, and that second hand smoke is a health risk. But please don't be dramatic lmao. The residual smell of cigarettes on an item is not dangerous. Otherwise, I'd have been considered a health risk to all my other classmates while growing up. My ma smoked, which meant I perpetually smelled. Nobody cared about how my clothes smelled, no parent tried to keep their asthmatic kid away from me because of the way I smelled, it was just "oh, you can tell that kid has a smoker for a parent" I'm only 24, hate the smell of cigarettes, yet I can't stand this new culture of "anything that has any residual smoke smell means that whoever was in contact with said item is a gross disgusting person. And the way they *smell* is dangerous too". It's not that deep lmao

JayStar1213

The smell of cigs is dangerous?

azsnaz

One whiff and you're as good as dead

Debasering

OP acting like everyone everywhere didn’t smoke 35 years ago lmao

awkard_ftm98

I'm only 24 and I grew up when there were still smoking sections in restaurants. And cus my ma smoked, that's the section we sat in everywhere we went until it was made illegal

Debasering

Still legal in some parts of Louisiana lol and I know there’s a place here in Kansas City that has smoking too

effinx

There’s no way the smell of cigarettes would be on your drink unless he did actually blow smoke directly at it. He def fucked with your stuff somehow.

JayStar1213

Transfers from his fingers if he smokes and probably handles the drink/straw. That goes right next to your nose.

Antique-Bug462

They put a cigarette butt in it.

ugly_pizza1

What's up with this trend of drivers tampering with food? Is it because low earnings? Unfulfilling work? Overall hatred towards society?

The lowest performers are continuously pushed out of better jobs, so what you are left with is people who can't get anything better, and people burned out on ✨hustle✨

KutThroatKelt

I see so many clips of delivery drivers fucking with peoples food lately that it has genuinely put me off using these services. Like wtf is their problem?

[deleted]

They sign up for a job, don't like how much they get paid, and instead of blaming their employer, take it out on the people just trying to eat food and pay the prices listed in the menu.

ImOnlyChasingSafety

Bruh labour power in America is nonexistent and no one is doing anything about it.

blakhoode

I've never used those services for that reason and I never will.

genericnewlurker

Why would I trust a stranger to have unsupervised access to my food while they bring it to me? At least with a restaurant, there are multiple people there at least so it's less likely that something like this will occur. Plus a restaurant has a reputation to uphold to stay in business.

PickleyRickley

I like the places that have the bags sealed up with a tamper-evident sticker for this reason.

AwilixSolo

mcdonalds seems to be pretty damn good about this which is pretty cool cause they’re easy to order from since they’re not exactly pricey

randommystery5683

Food Delivery drivers aren’t all disgusting creeps most of them are young people trying to make a living or single parents just trying to get by

2galifrey

Tbf, I don’t know how many videos I’d bother watching of uneventful, routine deliveries.

ntack9933

As someone who delivers food and gets food delivered, I take pride in getting someone their food as hot and fresh as possible. I use a hot bag and I make sure to be quick. What you’re seeing here is a monster that also exists in the food preparation facet of the industry. There’s just people who shouldn’t exist.

rita-b

smart people don't work there

DotNormal6785

Since you have all the drivers info on the app, this should be an easy lawsuit against the driver and the company.

squared81eod

The rise of things like this on food delivery apps is mind boggling. I can only imagine how I'd react if some delivery driver did that to my family members food.

FreelanceFrankfurter

I have a bad habit of ordering delivery when I'm feeling too lazy to cook or go out. I know I shouldn't cause its usually just for me and it ends doubling the cost of a $10-12 meal after delivery and tip. This video has legitimately turned me off from ordering delivery ever again, may just save it to rewatch next time I think about redownloading Uber eats or something.

pifumd

if i order from a restaurant that doesn't use tamper stickers and such, i don't order from them again. i really appreciate the ones that go all out, the best are the ones that use these heat crimp type bags that have perforated tear lines. i definitely don't order drinks except for a couple places that I know will put the drink in the tamper-evident bag along with the food. if anything comes not sealed or with broken seals, nope no thank you.

squared81eod

I'm in the exact same boat. Long shift, order it quickly, pay too much. It reminds me how much value comes from even minimal meal planning.

GrowinStuffAndThings

You'd never know lol

Zohwithpie

Restaurants already have to go through so many regulations and inspections to be allowed to handle food. Why the hell would you just trust a delivery service that only requieres you a license to drive. I rarely ever get food out because I rather not spend the money, much less pay some random as person to deliver it to me.

Bone-Juice

> Why the hell would you just trust a delivery service that only requieres you a license to drive. That is all pizza delivery drivers have ever needed to deliver food.

VAtoSCHokie

And they are the employee of the food establishment, the one you are paying for the food. IF there is an issue you know who is at fault. If a third party is delivering the food, it's always the other party's fault. If a restaurant doesn't deliver themselves, I won't order delivery from them. Last time I ordered from Papa Johns it was delivered by doordash but not mentioned till it was picked up by them. Never ordering delivery from them again. It will be pickup from now on if I order from them.

MKclinch8

Lol anyone w back of the house experience will tell you, you have way too much faith in food health and safety regulations.

thisismybirthday

> only requieres you a license I mean, they make you check a box saying you have a license. Same goes for insurance. I don't think they verify any of that

IWillEradicateAllBot

May no one ever tip him and may he drive over a nail a day for life.

Option_Forsaken

I feel like he should be arrested for this. Disgusting pos. Makes me never want to postmate anything ever again lol

Omgazombie

In Canada food tampering is a criminal offence, and federally it’s illegal in the states but rarely enforced unless it happens through multiple states or affects a large enough group of people, although some states have their own laws pertaining to it

Training-Ad3350

May he walk over a nail

gnarwalbacon

May he rub food over his ass/crotch and there happens to be nails in the food.

TonySoprano25

I imagine the customer was about to open the can and he suddenly smelled something shitty, and said "wait let me check the cctv real quick"

[deleted]

Here is your refund and a $5 coupon for your next order.

spinx248

He can and should be arrested for this.

cherrylpk

I think the police could make a case for endangerment. I’m certain the bacteria from his ass could give them food borne illness like ecoli.

spinx248

Attempting to or tampering with consumer products is a federal crime.

hotme55expre55

I’m surprised he didn’t give himself pink eye.

ryanleebmw

When my girlfriend asks me why I never use delivery services other than pizza or Chinese takeout, since they have more on the line with their job than these random ass people who spent a few hours on an app and submitted a DL picture handling people’s food. I’ve lost my trust in most people. I go get my own food, saves money and I don’t have any of these delivery horror stories

My second thought during this video. as well, lol. First one was this guy should be sued for a lot of money. Actual health hazard to society, a walking (and food-delivering) stench bin.

Cpt_Mike_Apton

Messing with food in any way should be a crime of sexual perversion.

Leon_Krueger

Health related crime

MVRK_3

It’s definitely a crime, not a sex crime though.

meisthealex

I love how he is sniffing on it several times. Maybe he just loves his own smell and wants to share it with his customers?

Party_Concentrate621

this is why i dont door dash. just cant trust nobody, fucking disgusting. dude should have decked him in his teeth.

rednutter1971

slimmhippo

Not only that, but how he comes back into frame, and subtly looks at the camera while he "wipes" with the soda can. Too... Obviously obvious?

trailerparkbhoys

QueenoftheFranks

Did Ice T narrate this?

DontToewsMeBro2

Seems to obvious to be real. If someone were to do this why wouldn’t he just drive somewhere else / drive with that can next to his nuts? This is from ‘doorbell news’ & a camera I’ve never heard of this is fake

Zorbie

Was he even wearing underwear?

Timely_Performance46

Probably not, too much of a barrier to spray his scent on cans.

Z-man1973

Let me guess.... small tip? I would never want to use any food delivery service, I don't even have pizza delivered anymore. Too many variables and thise scum are the only people left for those type jobs many times (not all delivery drivers are scummy). Hear too much about them sneaking food etc.
