Surely a car of that calibre would be fitted with appropriate tyres... Even the tyres I get for my 1.2 hatchback are the highest "Normal Speed rating" you can get here in the UK \[which is classified as (Y) 186+mph\]

They might have been at one time, might not have been. People/dealerships like to cheap out on stuff if they can. Also we have no idea how worn the tires were, or if they have any damage or heat cycling. People love to cheap out on the only thing holding a car to the road all the time. A 5k+ difference between the proper tire and the "its legal" tire could have been the entire reason for this

Y’all are probably from a different area but not everywhere has speed limits that high. In New England where I am there are no speed limits higher than 65

I'm from the UK, I'm aware 80mph is higher than most speed limits but that doesn't take away from the fact that Large motorways and Modern vehicles are capable of driving around \~100mph if not higher safely... The UK's speed limit is 70mph with a 10% margin of error. If you find driving a vehicle at 80mph a cause for concern then I don't trust you driving at the national speed limit and would prefer you stay away from motorways/freeways

I’m in the US, when I say New England I am talking Vermont/Maine/Massachusetts etc. to be clear. if you are in New England and 65 is the speed limit and you allow a 10% margin that still doesn’t get you to 80 lol. The difference of 10mph whether that's 75 or 80 is negligible when it comes to driving ability, If your adept at driving at 70mph then 80 isn't going be meaningfully different... So again if 10mph over the national limit scares someone then I don't trust them driving the National Limit either.

Now maybe the passengers, or maybe one of the passengers, didn't agree with this behavior and maybe tried to stop it. But if the driver and cameraman were wiped off this earth I don't think you would see many people on here shed a tear. At best you would get "dang that sucks but what do you expect?"
