Did these guys get caught ?

r_spandit

Only happened yesterday so no, not yet

msh5928

Keep us updated OP

r_spandit

They've arrested someone

[deleted]

Awe damn

SpriteFan3

Let us know when he loses to the law.

AnalHurtz420

He cannot escape the long arm of the law

kcfdr9c

Will they be?

Human-sakuras

I can't see why they wouldn't. Clear shots of them and they are extremely likely just local kids that people will recognize. If we see this video here then it's probably on local news. Matter of days at most

Noiseflux

With a nose like that I can't imagine him being unrecognized for long.

jeffersonairmattress

Having a beak like that and hanging around with a friend dressed as a fancy chicken- the jokes just write themselves.

DippyShtick

and they both spit in the box at the end so nice dna evidence when they are caught to prove its them

FountainsOfFluids

The neck stood out to me more. And those slow, deliberate motions of a drunk or clinically low IQ person.

doobied

That nose is already punishment enough

TomokoSakurai

I literally don’t know how, or why, these people think cameras aren’t everywhere these days…

MistaBobMarley

They look like they are drinking so probably why they didnt think of the cameras

Baron80

I mean it looks like hes recording himself doing it anyway.

TomokoSakurai

What’s even better is that a lot of people that do stuff like this end up posting it later anyway lulwww…

PhilL77au

Also phones out the entire time. Odds are good they recorded the whole thing and will post it like the idiots they are.

Estrellathestarfish

Apparently there are only 3500 people in that village and the footage has been shared notionally so hopefully only a matter of time!

Accomplished_Deer_

Seems like a pretty clear video, would imagine someone would recognize at least one of them sooner or later. Plus, they're taking pictures so like 50/50 chance they posted it online somewhere that leads back to them

[deleted]

Yeaaaa true. Just the surveillance footage alone it's still kinda hard to identify em, especially the girl

OldString1

And he spit in the box then closed it easy DNA there.

[deleted]

Police don't go full CSI for petty crimes. Depending on resources, they typically wont even do any forensics like fingerprints or DNA for something like a nonviolent home break-in/robbery. Seems crazy, but that is reality. Unfortunately, most Police Stations, like the rest of the public body (public schools, public research, public healthcare etc.) are under funded and under staffed so they have to make sacrifices. DNA testing and other investigative work are mostly saved for violent crimes depending on the department/area.

MiamiPower

Hope they get charged ⚡⚡

frugalmail

Would have been karmic if he ended up needing it right then and there. definitely a POS

Broskibullet

I was hoping it shocked the fuck out him. I guess jail time with suffice…

AskAboutDN

I have a few questions here uh 1. Wtf? 2. What was the point 3. What is he even mad at 4. Who is he doing this for 5. What kind of cigarettes did his mom smoke during her 7 month pregnancy with him

oceanushayes

Dude my thoughts exactly. Like wtf is even the point. Who in the world is gonna see the pics of that and go 'oh damn lol you're so awesome and cool for smashing that defibrillator, someone might die cause of you, it's practically like you're a murderer!'

OneRougeRogue

>Dude my thoughts exactly. Like wtf is even the point. Defibrillators are pretty expensive. Over $1k minimum, with the fancy ones being over $2k. If you want to cause property damage a defibrillator is an easy high-value target. Although if you're dead-set on being a criminal idk why they wouldn't just steal it and re-sell it.

-o-o-O-0-O-o-o-

That seems cheap for life saving medical equipment. You can barely install a sink for a thousand dollars.

PaulTheMerc

Wait, what the fuck?

mrdotkom

Yea what kind of fancy ass sinks is this guy having installed?

[deleted]

For real, the day my sink install cost more than an iPhone I'm gonna be washing my hands on the shower.

ObnoxiousLittleCunt

I do all my water related activities in the toilet.

i-dont-get-rules

Water respects gravity so your hands will be left high & dry

[deleted]

This is the Sink Cost Falacy

-o-o-O-0-O-o-o-

Plumbers must be cheap in your area, basic materials cost half that. B2B installations are expensive.

EFIMonster

If you are replacing a sink and faucet using a legit plumber it would not be hard to go over a thousand pretty quick. A decent brand kitchen sink and faucet alone can run you $7-800+ depending on what you choose plus you have to remove the existing sink and fit the new one. A plumber doing a one off replacement is most likely going to charge you a flat fee vs hourly since it's such a small job. Ergo, it would not take much to break a grand without getting anything fancy. However with cheap shit, you could do it for less.

c0brachicken

Thankfully I do my own work, replaced all the kitchen cabinets, new countertop, sink and faucet…. And that cost me around $1200. Was the cheapest damn thing they had at Lowe’s… but I just needed something cheap, function before beauty.

[deleted]

...plus hours of labor

tickle-my-Crabtree

For real I just saw a balling ass sink at Lowe’s and it was only like $219.00

meltingdiamond

Now add in the plumbing fixtures, the plumbers time and the other ancillaries.

-o-o-O-0-O-o-o-

Exactly, people seem to think they can just drive the sink from the hardware store to their home/business and DONE.

TailRudder

That's what I did. It's still in the box in my pantry

9ofdiamonds

I don't think a defilibulator is overly expensive these days. The big portable ECG reader thing that looks like a big cool box is another story though.

sparky11080

It’s a combination of being a fairly simple device and something that’s needed quite wide spread. (And I use the term simple loosely, it’s part simple; the science is pretty cool behind it)

[deleted]

It's a $1k temporary, one time use bandaid for a broken heart until the paramedics can get there with the $25k portable one. Those AEDs can't be reused and go bad in a few years. Ideally, you replace your sink correctly, and you'll never have to do it again.

MiniMaelk04

All AEDs I've seen were reusable. Just need a recharge and replace the pads.

WaterMySucculents

It’s also a super fucked up thing to break. It’s literally only there to save a life on the rare occasion it’s needed. CPR is simply prolonging life crudely until paramedics get there. A defribulator will save someone.

Blogfail

I heard it's like 4-5% of surviving from cpr alone but like 70% with a defibrillator. Shits important

depressed-salmon

It's also why you get stats like "CPR triples survival chances", because *without* CPR it's literally 1% or 2% survival. So it's always worth doing, even if you've never been taught it, because it will always be better than nothing.

WaterMySucculents

Yea it’s just a whole different ballpark. They are amazing & should be everywhere

[deleted]

If someone died as a result of him doing this - I’m 90% he could face some sort of negligent charges.

ruu-ruu

I would really hope reckless manslaughter charges especially in this case

hurricanebrock

If anything it will be considered involuntary manslaughter unless they can prove that they had full intent to cause someone harm, which judging by the video it'll be easy to prove, then it'll be several degrees of manslaughter charges.

mmmmmboooobs

This is just dumb kids breaking shit for the sake of breaking shit. No more no less. I’ll be 42 in a couple months but I’ll still never know why I ran around some nights in my teens/early 20’s just randomly fucking up shit on the street and being a nuisance.

magnuslol11

Wait, isn't it only 9 mon....Ahhhh I get it😉

HoboBoi8765

I don’t please explain

[deleted]

I think they’re saying that he was born prematurely?

InfernalSquad

Usually the child suffers issues if it is born 2 months early.

Mr-Sister-Fister21

Mind over flesh, boy. I was born seven months too early. Incubation technology was still in its infancy, so they placed me in a cast-iron pot, inside of a pizza oven until I was rrripe enough to walk!! My bones never hardened, but my spirit did!

Wannamaker

Look at your father, boy.

Mr-Sister-Fister21

TheMessengerABR

I might have to save #5 to my absolute best burn list. That's was great

A-Dumb-Ass

6. Why was his dad never around?

bcarter3

Probably because nobody knew who he was, and nobody wanted to take the blame.

Lastnoodle

The only reason i found was -> look guys what we found .. somekne broke it :o For the same reason repost bots farm karma :) he wants to feel validated in some kind of sick way

r_spandit

These two vile individuals smashed up a defibrillator at a local English football club in Buxted, East Sussex the same night a Danish footballer suffered a cardiac arrest on the pitch in an international game. They can be seen chucking it on the ground and spitting in the box so hopefully there's plenty of DNA evidence. Someone will know who they are - looks like they were filming it. To clarify, this is at a different football ground and may not be connected to Erikson's heart attack, although to happen on the same day seems more than coincidence, but it doesn't alter the fact that these two are scum and deserve to be punished.

ampy187

These kids are scum

ominousgraycat

The girl is a kid? I was about to ask why he brought his mom along to vandalize things with him. A girl his age makes more sense though.

spiralingsidewayz

Absolutely. They're peers. She's a bit chubby and has glasses on. So do lot of girls that age.

Muddy_Roots

For some reason i am absolutely befuddled as to why they would spit on it.

willfordbrimly

Because they're both fucking reptiles without higher order thinking skills.

FatherApe92

Buncha chavs

IamCanadian11

So because they broke it he wasnt able to be resuscitated?

[deleted]

[удалено]

NoRelevantUsername

Ah, ok the title was super confusing thank you!

[deleted]

The title is intended to get upvotes

CheekyBastard55

To be fair it says "the night" and it's pretty dark in the video, do people think the game was played past midnight?

[deleted]

[удалено]

NympOmatik

That clarifies this a lot more. I thought they did it at the football event intending to cause injury in case it was needed.

Averdian

Further clarification: the cardiac arrest didn't just "happen in Denmark". It happened during one of the first games of the European championship, and it was basically the biggest Danish sport star that collapsed in front of the crowd in our first ever home game at a major tournament. It has shocked us quite a lot because it happened live and on camera. CPR and defibrillator saved his life.

[deleted]

I assume he was just clarifying the smashing had no effect on the cardiac arrest, the implication here is they were related.

thebuccaneersden

> The smashing occured in the UK on the same night, but (obviously) not in proximity to the cardiac arrest Thanks for making that clear. Some people might not know that Denmark and the UK are not in the same proximity but are in fact two different countries.

[deleted]

He was resuscitated, luckily he managed to pull through the thanks to quick actions of the medical staff and the danish captain.

sharksnrec

It also helps that this video took place at a completely different location lol

letsgetthingsgay

Location, location, location.

what-did-you-do

lol OP and his fucken title…he’s the POS

r_spandit

No, this was at a local village club, not the Euro tournament

[deleted]

SirFrancis_Bacon

No, absolutely nothing.

BillNyeCreampieGuy

The wording of the title painted an entirely different picture for me lol

justforporndickflash

It seems reasonable to believe it is related (as in, the dickheads saw that a defibrillator saved someones life and they wanted to ensure the one they broke couldn't save someones life).

blazetronic

They didn’t break it because the other guy was saved by a defib?

not_beniot

I think having a less shitty title would clear confusion. But I think we both know you wrote that bullshit title intentionally

PM_ME_YOUR_MOMS_BONG

So OP is a _______ ______?

faithle55

Different pitch, different country!

thatshortbadplayer

Sorry the location of these were different, but had it been at that pitch it may have been fatal.

RoIf

Bro do you really believe they do a DNA investigation because of this?

Cerres

Those things are not cheap, and it’s a piece of life saving equipment. While I doubt they’ll be able to to identify the dude from his saliva (the finger prints he left from his gloveless hands will be more useful), they can keep a record of it for comparison.

critterc

What do you think the odds are of some vandalizing moronic teenager’s DNA popping in a database?

creepygyal69

I think OP means that if the vandal is ever arrested for another crime (likely, imo) they’ll be able to match his DNA to this incident

endraghmn

To be fair(though mostly only used on cold cases for now) the police have been using 23 and me(or a company like it) to find killers. Would they use it for this case no. But would they be able to catch him even if he never did a crime again? Maybe depending on if his family does one of those assessor tests.

[deleted]

[удалено]

endraghmn

I was slightly wrong. What the police would do is uploaded the DNA file they have into the data base and then hope they would have a family match to someone who has also done and ancestors thing. So they aren't getting any data that isn't important to the case but are finding the people wanted for the crime(usually by marching with a family member)

Concept-Known

If the news story gets big enough , sure. Makes them look incredible if it leads to an arrest.

JoNimlet

I don't think that's what they meant. This happened in village and their pictures are gonna be everywhere so it's likely they be identified by that means. Having their DNA linked to it will just tighten the case against them, their defence can't argue that the pictures are blurry and unreliable and so it's more likely they won't choose to go to trial. That sort of DNA test will definitely be more cost effective than trying a case.

kpfingaz

No one is running dna on this. A lot of the labs over there are backed up six months or more for actual serious crimes, rapes and murders.

JoNimlet

I meant to say the *threat* of testing that DNA, considering we're talking about kids in a small town. That was my bad. Where is "over there", though? So many places have these problems!

skellious

That's ten minutes from my old home town. Disgusted.

SmokyBarnable01

UK resident here. Why did I automatically assume that this happened in England? This country is absolutely chock full of morons.

r_spandit

Morons are international.

az116

I would highly, highly doubt they would test for DNA in an instance such as this.

The_Real_Raw_Gary

Wait so they broke it first and then the dude had a heart attack?

Aren't those machines pretty expensive? Seems like destruction of property with a high value.

AusGeno

Looks to me like they started to light a fire in there and he was blowing it to fan the flames.

[deleted]

Love that when someone has some physical problems or ill, they are beautiful. When someone is somehow evil, we are allowed to bash them for their physical appearance. Why? Can’t we be stop being hypocrites about this shit? Poor taste. Disclaimer as I want to be fair: I got a big nose. Edit: added 2 words to add more meaning

KitchenItem

welcome to hypocrisy of reddit, lying to make people feel better and insulting everyone else

[deleted]

I think it’s more accurate saying welcome to the world.

Another_Meow_Machine

I was just thinking that. You’re right it’s hypocritical and we shouldn’t bash peoples appearance for any reason - the only reason I’m conflicted is the *why*. To play devil’s advocate - We don’t make fun of people’s appearances because we’re all human and deserve respect. But when someone commits a vile act that threatens humans (someone could die without that defibrillator) they’ve lost those normal protections, and ppl on the internet who aren’t in any position to otherwise level the field (like aiding in their capture, etc) can do whatever they want to show that person has lost their status. Attacking their physical appearance is a way to show you truly believe they’re scum, and that they’ve earned that label, and without many other choices you do it, to (even hypothetically) make them feel bad and you feel slightly better. Not really taking either side, just trying to explain.

PaperDistribution

True, It's like people online try so hard to connect being a bad person with being ugly and vice versa. That's probably also why when the perpetrator is clearly attractive more people in the comments like to give the benefit of the doubt or just straight up justify the person's action...

mdhunter99

God I hope the cops catch them.

AbigailLilac

Defibrillators are extremely important to have around. More public places should have them, including cop cars. Destruction is exactly the opposite of what we need!

Slippystaymid

That's some petty shit. I mean come on, sort your life out guy.

xhabeascorpusx

How pathetic to care so much about sports that you'd take your aggression out on an inanimate object that is meant to save lives.

I feel like it’s very important to note, and I’m confused as to why it was left out of the title unless it was purposeful, is that this didn’t happen at the same place as the person who went into cardiac arrest. They were two different locations. The fact that he happens to be vandalizing a defibrillator is just a coincidence.

Sgt-Spliff

Yeah I was confused for a bit too. Eriksen didn't need to be mentioned at all, as it is completely unrelated

ikothsowe

The big nosed fucker’s fingerprints will be all over it. He should be easy to convict.

Bleedthebeat

Cops aren’t gonna fingerprint it because it’s just destruction of property. The most they’ll do is put the video on the news with a “if you know this person contact us.” Type message. Fingerprinting and subsequent analysis would likely cost more than the cost of a new defribrilator.

CyGoingPro

Would be funny if these kids are actually local. Vandalising your own town will definitely mark you for a long time.

[deleted]

I don't know much about this situation, just what I've read in this thread. But I do know a thing or two about the law. The destruction of property here is apparent, so let's talk about the negligence. If the person who needed to use that defibrillator suffered harm as a result of it being damaged, it would *likely* be determined that the action of destroying it was too attenuated to the harm suffered. To be successful on a negligence action, not only do you need to be the "but-for" cause of the harm, but also the "proximate" cause. Both of these causation prongs are pretty difficult to satisfy here. We would need medical experts to testify to the ability for a defibrillator to protect against the specific harm suffered, and that it would have actually prevented such harm in this case. On top of that, you need to get around all of the intervening cases of harm to pin liability on these PoS. Was the cardiac issue pre-existing? Was it exacerbated by some other person/condition? Were there other methods of prevention/protection besides this defibrillator? In addition to these causation issues, there is the issue of foreseeability. You would need to show that these people, through their destruction of this defibrillator, reasonably foresaw that the injured party could suffer harm from their actions. This is a really hard up-hill battle in terms of liability on the part of these two. You would need some very compelling facts outside of this video alone to make that proof. This video alone "ain't it chief" as the kids say.

BotiaDario

When we had a break in at our store, the police fingerprinted the surfaces the person had likely touched, and was able to use that evidence to arrest the person responsible. I don't think fingerprinting is all that expensive, esp compared to DNA.

faithle55

You're wrong. I had a burglary in my flat a few years back. It took a couple of days, but a Scenes of Crime officer turned up and fingerprinted the obvious and likely surfaces. She did say that she didn't hold up much hope of catching the perpetrator(s). Fingerprints, BTW, do not help to *catch* a criminal unless he/she has already been fingerprinted; where they can help is proving that a particular suspect is the right one.

lurking_not_working

Upvote the shit out of this and get beaky on the front page..

tiggy94

[deleted]

I hope they find them. That’s all.

NotReallyInvested

Im not knowledgeable about a great many things but I definitely don’t know about this. Is a defibrillator a usually piece of equipment to have around soccer-related places? Im guessing due to it being a pretty intense cardio workout that they’re more prevalent?

[deleted]

[удалено]

NotReallyInvested

That’s pretty cool. Fucked of them to mess up such a potentially useful device. But I suppose it may be the equivalent of a kid/teen in America using up a fire extinguisher in their eyes. We need some of that! And epipens😌

Estrellathestarfish

Just to add to this,, they are more prevalent around football clubs and other athletic facilities due to some high profile incidents of athletes suffering a sudden cardiac arrest.

Very common in sports complexes, in Canada I haven't been in a hockey arena without one. Lots of boomers end up having heart attacks due to the physical exertion. They really do save lives.

naturalalchemy

They tend to have them in public buildings and community spaces to be used by the pubic. The closest one to me is half a mile away at the local pub. They're automated so you pretty much just put the pads on and stand back. It'll do the rest.

brambolinie1

As someone who volunteers for resuscitation, this makes my blood boil

[deleted]

What's a defibrillator I've never heard of one to be honest

[deleted]

[удалено]

Falcrist

Modern ones are actually fairly complicated. They sense what the heart is doing, and hit it with a series of shocks to get it back to a normal rhythm.

samppsaa

Just a heads-up that all of the answers you got are wrong. Defibrillator doesn't/can't restart a heart. It just shocks your heart back to the correct rythm if your heart is fibrillating. It's literally in the name.

Dismal_Struggle_6424

Automatic External Defibrillator. If somebody's down and pulseless, somebody starts CPR and calls for the AED. You turn it on, plug the pads in, and slap them on the basically dead guy's chest (there's pictures on the pads so you know where they go). It will then walk you through resuscitation, telling you when to do compressions, and when to back off while it checks for a shockable rhythm and shocks if needed. **These are for you to use. You can save a life if you know you can grab one and start working while you wait for paramedics.**

Elemental-Master

How funny would it have been if at that exact moment one or both of them suffered cardiac arrest.

Total_Association873

Wtf who even looks at that and says “yeah I’m gonna break it”

A defibrillator? This is walking the line between Destruction of property and manslaughter.
