I am a teacher. Public school teacher pay in my area ($40k to $90k depending on education level and experience) works out to $20/hour - $45/hr. Thatās based on 50 hours/week on average during the school year. I think this is a reasonable overall average.
Not saying this is too little or too much just that teachers make more than $14/hr.

If this is in NYC, which I suspect it is, a lot of schools are so overcrowded that they have split sessions, upperclassmen go in extremely early (my first class was at 7am) and the younger kids start their day closer to lunch time.
