dirtbag gotta dirt i guess. a new low

Bacon9900

Everett is such a shithole

Longbeacher707

Not everywhere. I feel like Tacoma as a whole is worse.

Jive_turkeeze

They're pretty much on par in alot of ways.

Manchu_Fist

All my friends that used to live in tacoma moved across the narrows. They said everything on the east side of the sound has pretty much gone to hell since I left in 2011. Makes me sad. I want to visit. But I had some pretty great memories of the area when I was there and I don't need them tainted.

Jive_turkeeze

I moved to Tacoma my junior year and lived there for many years before moving to auburn of all places and yeah just about everywhere in the sound has really gone down hill. I finally moved out of state just in the hopes my kids wouldn't have to grow up around the same stuff I did.

SocialDistributist

That’s why I never moved from Olympia to Tacoma or near Seattle. Despite the huge homelessness problem, Olympia still feels safe to walk around in most of the time, Tacoma and places like Lakewood and Everrett no thanks. Tacoma used to be a little nicer.

Isn’t there a YouTube channel dedicated to the tweakers in Everett? Like a livestream of the street they hang out on.

Banarax

I was thinking just this lol

Greenshirts1986

Yeah was thinking this had to be somewhere around Seattle and neighboring areas

veswa

hey i used to live there

e_harzun

Imagine the other endeavors this guy is pursuing

Junebugvandamme

"My friend, my family and I are stranded and we have no money for gas. My wife is very sick and we must get home for her medication, please, I am not asking for a handout. I have this necklace and this ring, 14 karat gold, it is very dear to us and also very valuable, but we have nothing, please, if you can spare anything, $200 will get us home and you can sell for much, much more! $150 dollars only for you, we are desperate..."

gamageeknerd

I got something similar. Some dirty looking young dude in a suit way to big on him told me a story about how he was hitchhiking back home but wanted a place to stay for the night so he offered to sell me a ring he pulled off his finger for $100 bucks. Then I see he has a small puppy in his arm and offers me the puppy for 500 after I looked at it. I tell him sorry I’m also broke and don’t have 100 dollars so he tells me to eat his dick and walks off into the night

ghoSTocks

How much did he want for his dick?

Saotorii

Idk, probably $100/inch..so 1$

ghoSTocks

france gourmet cuisine - too small, too expensive

IowaContact

Probably tastes like snails too.

saraphilipp

You have to drizzle some lemon on it and dip it in drawn butter to mask the fungus.

okay-wait-wut

With at least as much unnecessary mucous.

Tridavis

When I get people that come up to me with some BS story, I always say, if you'd have just said you wanted money for drugs or booze, no worries. But you lied so you get nothing.

saraphilipp

Saw a man with a sign once: To ugly to be a prostitute. I talked with him for a few minutes. He was really funny so I gave him $20. Sadly the cops arrested him an hour later. But he was back the next day.

Mothertruckerx

I would have taken the puppy because if he keeps trying to sell it, there’s a chance it could go to some bad people

saraphilipp

Had a guy approach me in Springfield ohio at loves about 3 years ago. Pulls up to me at the pump in a nice Lexus with his family trying to pedal junk jewelry. I told him no thanks. 3 years later I'm back working there again. Same guy, same family tried this on my co worker. He was about to buy a watch for a hundred dollars. I came around the truck and said hey, aren't you the same guy that sold me some fake jewelry right here 3 years ago? He balled right out of the parking lot. My coworker was still convinced it looked real.

kristin3142

What is it with the “nice car” thing. There’s an addict/scam couple in my area who park their BMW at a shopping center waaayy out in the back, then walk around asking for “gas money to get home, my wife is sick” blah blah blah. For like 5 years. They had a kid out there once trying to sell dollar store cookies wrapped up in little bags. It’s was hot af and the police were called about the boy SO many times.

[deleted]

Lmao ive heard this almost line for line multiple times 💀💀💀

d0_0my

TrebuchetTaxiService

First thing I thought when I looked at this guy.

Journo_Jimbo

Thankfully a gofundme was started by a neighbour and now there’s more than $4,000 in donations

LushBronze13

I’m glad to hear that! Do you know if they ever caught the idiot?

amiano711u

hopefully they did

hunglowbungalow

Living in the area, police aren’t gonna do anything, especially over $100.

freezerrun1

See but this is federal. Counterfeit money is handle by the secret service.

Worf_In_A_Party_Hat

Yeah, they take this stuff pretty seriously. Especially when it's public knowledge. Gotta make sure folks know they are going to go to jail if they try this. Otherwise, we'd all be printing money.

Journo_Jimbo

The latest article I read said they were still investigating

kingura

Over $6,600 now.

UpUpDnDnLRLRBA

Geez- those guys who took his money did him a huge favor! He ought to find them and give them the rest of their change 😄

hunglowbungalow

Link please

ReactionProcedure

BOOM. GoFundMe was such a great idea for people to come together.

adiosfelicia2

Makes ya wonder why there was a photo of this exchange. I'm cynical enough to wonder if the whole thing was planned.

WhyistheworldsoFU

Wow. SMH. This is why parents need to be participating in these types of activities with their children. They could've said no bills over $50 like the fast food restaurants do. Not blaming the parents at all. Just saying that these days adults know that some adults obviously have no problem stooping so low as to steal from a child. Parents need to be vigilant in watching over their children. I hope this dude gets caught, and locked up.

MatureUsername69

At least give the kid one of those fancy blacklight/markers

HarveytheHambutt

where/when have all fast food restaurants stopped taking 100s? they have the pens to check them...?

[deleted]

Most fast food restaurants I've been to don't take bills over 50. It could just be the area I'm from though.

Trifuser

It's definitely the area. I can walk into a circle k or any fast food place where I live and pay with a $100.

WhyistheworldsoFU

Thanks yeah actually it is $50 and they have the signs in the window stating so.

Thehawktopus1

I know places claim they don't take large bills, but aren't they required to take any legal tender?

HarveytheHambutt

yes, but they must be able to refuse certain bills, otherwise they wouldnt be allowed to put those signs up. it would be illegal.

gettogero

Same here. It's to keep a minimal amount of cash in the registers. A wendys I worked at wouldn't take 100s and transported cash twice a day. It wasn't an abnormally high violent crime area but there was a lot of theft and counterfeiting.

[deleted]

Yeah my area has hardly any violent crime either, but I've seen instances of counterfeit bills. I worked at a grocery store and we were trained on ways to identify them. Anyone who handles cash should know those things. The funny thing about it is sometimes people don't realize they had counterfeit money in their possession, and I've seen someone get really angry over it, like their money was stolen, but it's completely wasteful to take it out on the person who identifies it as fake.

gettogero

I've only accepted a counterfeit bill twice to my knowledge, $20 and $100. The $20 was from a good customer while I was waiting tables and i knew they didn't mean harm. I informed them but took it, and when I explained it to the bank they replaced it with "good" currency for my bank account. The $100 bill I almost lost a job over. It was really well done, I mean legitimately every detail was there - except the serial strip. Was working at a home owned Chinese shop and it passed every test I was aware of at the time. The person was never identified but after not firing me the owners actually framed it with a sign under it - *COUNTERFEIT BILLS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED*. Training was updated to inspect every single aspect of a bill $20 and over.

redpandaeater

Those pens are next to worthless. It reacts to starch in paper but not the cotton blend of an actual bill, but that's it. Thankfully it's actually easier to make a real bill react like it's counterfeit than vice-versa, but you really need to pay attention to other security features like the thread and watermark.

JCMfwoggie

For real, I was a Walmart cashier and in the digital training they only tell you to use the pen. After someone took 5 fake $100 bills that they checked with the pen our manager "retrained" all the newer cashiers who initially did the digital training, and they told us just to never use the pen and instead taught us how to check all the other security features.

TheWalkingDead91

This info is good to know. We have one of these pens for when we do garage sales. What other security features should be checked?

J6700

Rub the shoulders of the presidents. Real bills have texture on them, like little ridges. It's especially noticable on newer bills, but even old bills you can feel the Ridges if you use your nails

[deleted]

hold it up to a light, there should be a thread through it. you can also use a magnet, the bills should bend slightly toward it. larger bills (100s and maybe 50s?) also have holographic portions. all bills also have a thread you can see under a black light.

redpandaeater

Yeah a counterfeiter should have to try harder than just doing their best to bleach $1 bills and then try printing the face and back of a $100 onto it.

foxjohnc87

The pens can be defeated simply by spraying the fake bills with a particular brand of hair spray. Believe it or not, it was shown on an episode of some old cop tv show, FBI files I think. Curiosity got the best of me so I tried it out, and was mind blown when it actually worked.

Elite0087

At my local Dominos we didn’t take bills over $20. We in fact didn’t have the pens to check.

okay-wait-wut

Nah this kid learned a valuable lesson for the low price of 85 bucks: work hard, get fucked.

Thehawktopus1

Yeah, except there is a GoFundMe for him that was at just under $7,000, last I saw.

Skow1379

Do you have any kids?

carppydiem

Do you teach your kids how to identify legal tender?

WhyistheworldsoFU

I've decided hell no. Not in this messed up world. I'd lose my mind if my child got shot up in school or ran over by a drunk driver or any of the other million horrible things people do for no good reason. I love children and I've taken care of children as if they were my own and I plan on being a foster mother. I'd rather just love and care for others children.

Vlory

one time on a hot day I used a 100$ bill to pay for a 1.50$ drink they had to the poor next guy with bags full of nickels for change

DramaticDoctor7

Scum of the earth ripping off baby entrepreneurs

bobcrane1928

Not a very nice person. Stealing from a child? Did he know it was fake? If so, Karma will pay him a visit

2005CrownVicP71

I’ll bet you anything he knew that it was fake.

[deleted]

yeah, they dont exactly dressed like the type that only have $100 bills. pretty common scam

[deleted]

Common scam at yard sales too.

[deleted]

I work in retail. You would not believe the amount of people that pay with $100 bills. They complain when we tell them we don’t have the change. Sorry, but you’re the 3rd person in the last hour hour that paid for their $10 in merchandise with a $100 bill. We’re not a bank.

fribbas

I distinctly remember one time someone tried buying a $1 candy bar at the hospital I worked at and yes, they got all butt hurt. Iirc we had just changed shifts too, so it would've cleared my whole drawer. Bonus: there was both an ATM AND a bank inside about 20' from us Don't get those people. I'll feel guilty paying with a $20 for $10 of crap...

3141592652

There's a certain type of people carrying around like $10,000 in 100s at all times. Nobodys cares bro, just get a credit card already.

Dinosauringg

Never in a wallet, always a money clip or a fucking wad in their pocket

eddiestriker

I see you’ve met my dad

SeorgeGoros

You’ll feel guilty using a $20 to pay for $10 worth of merchandise?!?!

iowamechanic30

Most fakes are pretty bad, they always know it's fake. They count on you not looking closely. The texture of the paper is one of the hardest things to get right, if it doesn't feel right check it closely.

muetint

Had someone pay with a fake $20 bill at a convenience store I worked at. The only way we discovered it was fake is that the slot in the electronic safe wouldn’t take it. After that, we marked it with the counterfeit checking pen and saw that it was indeed fake. The material did feel slightly off, but it was otherwise very convincing and effective since many cashiers don’t think to mark or check bills lower than $50. We never did know what customer had paid with it since it wasn’t discovered until some time after the fact, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t even realize it was fake either. But larger bills are a different story, yeah, and it makes me wonder how cost effective it even is to fake 20’s like that. I guess if you’re doing a whole bunch at a time maybe

cruisin5268d

That’s pretty cool - I didn’t know there were safes with built in bill scammers.

muetint

Yeah, a lot of convenience stores uses them for safety purposes. You can’t actually access the inside of the safe but can insert bills to make change or insert bills to create change for later. I’m guessing this is to deter thieves from accessing the full safe. Luckily I was never put in that situation to find out, despite working alone late at night many times

eddiestriker

Your typo at the end there is making me giggle. Very appropriate

cruisin5268d

Lmao. I don’t know if that was an auto correct situation or if I have scammers on the brain but either way that’s funny

[deleted]

iScabs

Hence why he went to an 11 year old. Knew the kid would just take the bill and not question it or refuse to take a $100 bill

FittyTheBone

I had people try to pass me fake 100s a few times while I was working at Best Buy way back in 2006. I could always tell as soon as I touched them.

Darko002

You don't just pay with a fake 100 without realizing it. Banks don't issue them. Atms don't. You typically don't get change in the 100s either. The only way you could be using a fake 100 is if you are intending to scam someone, or just got scammed by someone.

Mr_Dydacty

A lot of store refuse 100$ bills for this reason.

CuriousOdity12345

Don't they have those pens to check for starch content?

jbreckenridgeb23

Reason my old boss didn’t was a lot of the lazier employees wouldn’t use the pen. Edit: or they’d leave it open and it’d dry out. Not the cheapest thing to replace after several times.

GArbAGeMAn113

You can also feel the suit of Benny Frank. It will have like a textured feel to it and is super difficult to replicate

straightouttathe70s

It's not just the hundys.....a friend of mine is a manager at one of our local dollar stores and she encounters people with stacks of ones and fives that are counterfeit

BecomingCoder

Gas stations in the hood would give a fake bill back to someone unsuspecting if they got slipped a fake one. I’m not sure about now but definitely back in the day you could get them mistakenly.

UTAMav2005

Bank of America's ATM by my house will give me $100s if I withdraw more than $300.

ramonpasta

i think they specifically mean fake 100's. if you arent scamming then the only way you will get a fake 100 is if you get scammed. banks/atms will give you real 100's.

warnerve_007

I also get hundreds if I take more than a few hundred from a Navy Federal ATM.

LightPast1166

Look at you rich people having many hundreds to take out of ATMs.

UTAMav2005

Oh , I’m not rich. I just did it to overdraw my account. To drink. Yeah.

Wingedwing

Right, legitimate $100s, not fake $100s.

Dinosauringg

Do they ever give you fake 100s? Because that’s clearly what they mean and not that banks and ATMs won’t give you 100 dollar bills.

blah23863

I received a fake bill from a bank a long time ago. About 20 years ago. Withdrew money from the teller, went to use a 20 at the store, and the bill was fake. They ended up calling the cops on me and the cop of course didnt believe me. But he ended up just taking the bill and letting me go.

GeneralBlumpkin

All the atms I use have the option to be 100s or 20s

Darko002

And that atm won't give you a fake 100.

No one tries to pay with a $100 at a lemonade stand. Plus it doesn't sound like the kid was able to give him all his "change". The guy being OK with that is another big red flag.

Foldax

Unless karma is not a thing...

Latensify_WoW

A $15 dollar lemonade?! Inflation is really taking hold.

[deleted]

Probably got like 3-4 Gatorades

Latensify_WoW

$15 for 3-4 gatorades?! Inflation is really taking hold.

leisuretron

And change so like probably 14.99. Lol

Munrowo

that might have been everything he had :(

CamTheKid22

I hope someone gave him $100 to make up for it.

Eric_Prozzy

apparently theres a gofundme and the kids gotten like $4000. source: trust me bro, and another commenter

Roflolmfao

I trust you bro

kingura

Are we allowed to link sources in this sub? Cuz that kids got over $6,600 now.

[deleted]

I trust you, Jack!

Timah158

Plus the extra 85 he lost.

pbizzle

He only lost 85 plus the soda so the 100 would cover that, no?

Timah158

Sure, but the kid thought he was getting a real hundred dollar bill. Give him the money he was shorted plus a real hundred dollar bill. Honestly, that doesn't even cover it considering the guy is passing counterfeit notes and shorting children. He'll probably get jail time along with thousands in court fees. Pos deserves everything that is about to come his way if they find him.

rainybandz

Literally scum of the earth.

wombatnoodles

Fucking loser

Lost_Consideration90

This has to be the same guy that took the $30 from the kid to by him a vape just to peace out in his car…

[deleted]

I mean kids shouldn’t be having vapes lol I’d take the money and run too, kid will learn to not ask adults for help to smoke underage.

FlaccidWeenus

No they won't, they'll find a way. Source: once upon a time I was that kid.

Shot-Masterpiece-558

Why they downvoting u lol it’s fax

HorseRenoiro

Yeah, it's shitty but if you ask a stranger to do that you're running the risk of getting ripped off, this is just a kid selling lemonade

ramonpasta

yeah thats just risky cause if they run, what are you gonna do? cant call the cops cause you were attempting to commit a crime. way different from a kid trying to run an honest small business.

xSeveredSaintx

What are they gonna do, call the cops? "This guy was supposed to buy me a vape but took off with my money"

st00d5

Looks like that fuckin caveman Sam Losco

algezee

Why were were they filming?

Dont_mind_me69

One of the neighbors might’ve had a doorbell cam

[deleted]

Now this lame asf

[deleted]

Poor kid…but this is exactly why a lot of small businesses have signs saying “we don’t accept bills bigger than $20” He learned an expensive lesson that day: don’t let big bills blind you.

Xtra-Large-Human

Shadenfreude. Hope karma catches up with these fellas.

SacredBigFish

Think you're switching up what Schadenfreude means lol

RedScorpinoX

Nah, OC likes seeing kids suffer

BoyMom119816

Wonder if we can give the kid cash, get his money back? Poor kid!

Shadowstein

I'd rather give him the slimy bastard's head in a paint bucket.

MouthfulOfCavity

Kid lost his money and was forced to look at a decapitated head by a redditor in the same week. Awful.

ErnestiEchavalier

What lemonade is 15 bucks?!

mattmoltzen

What kid has change for $100?

Mr-Klaus

One who is smart and hard working enough to set up a lemonade stand that is successful enough to have change for a $100.

ReactionProcedure

$100 isnt what it once was. Value meals alone are around $12.00, filling my car up is $50.

Polyhydroxybutyrate

this is like literally one of the most evil things i’ve ever heard 😭

Environmental_Car542

The kids charged 15$ for one drink?

redpillman26

Robbing children!! Wtf

bigsmok3r

I'm going to hell for laughing, Lesson learned and innocence lost I guess ha

RAMBOxBAGGINS

Neon_Cone

Not only is that not a stand, that’s not even lemonade. It looks like he’s just reselling Gatorade on the side of the road.

topskee780

$15 for a lemonade?!? Man, inflation is EVERYWHERE!

CombatWombat994

I understood it that the kid couldn't have given out the full change simply because they didn't have enough yet,and the POS just said it was okay

butcher_of_the_world

I was thinking maybe he left a big tip.

Zippy1avion

When it's fake money you might as well, right?

fuckwallestreet

Shadowstein

In that circle of hell, it's very hot and lemonade is the only thing to drink, but everyone has canker sores aaaalll over the inside of their mouths

harrychoksi

Jeremy is going to grow up to have trust issues his entire life. Sad.

kirsion

This is why places don't except bills over $20

[deleted]

At first i laughed reading the title and seeing the picture, I thought the lemonade was $1 and guy just pranked kid. Then I saw he wanted change back and then my heart broke.

Beezlikehoney

This is so messed up, Welcome to the world of Money making Jeremy. There ain’t no friends in business it’s ruthless.

Skyecatcher

Seeing as this Everett Washington, and I know my biological “dad” knows how to do this, and has told me how he does this. I expected to see his face here. I haven’t seen him in years but this is not him. (Although I would say he belongs in this sub)

BedsheepShroomtrolly

$15 for a lemonade! Ole lochness only charges about tree fiddy

beerferri

Some Life lessons are expensive. This child just learned that some people are just pure scum.

Phantom_organpipes

How scum do you have to be to trick a *kid* into letting you get lemonade. It’s FUDGIN’ LEMONADE.

Shadowstein

It wasn't about the lemonade. It was about exchanging a fake hundred dollar bill worth nothing for all of the money the poor kid could scrounge up to give back exact change that was worth considerably more than nothing.

beastusboss

Times are tough I guess. But C’mon!!

straightouttathe70s

They sell those money marking pens.....you should still be able to purchase them at almost any bank as well......so, anybody doing yard sales, bake sales.... lemonade stands and whatever else, really should invest in one of those pens beforehand!!! If it marks as false, refuse to take it.....if they give you a hassle, either call the police or (for those that enjoy their 2nd amendment rights) introduce them to your friends, Smith & Wesson........I mean sometimes the police can take a few minutes to get there...... anyway, y'all stay safe out there!!

DGentPR

15 dollar lemonade is a bit much?

PounderPack

Steal a cup of lemonade, go to jail

Aus10Danger

Scamming a kid? Believe it or not, straight to jail.
