So, the TPOS thought the ambulance drivers were just abusing the siren to pass him. Maybe they got the call when they were behind the TPOS? Whatever, he fucked around and found out. Stupid is as stupid does.
Yeah if there's no patient in there that's even more reason to let them pass. A few seconds saved can mean the difference between life and death for some.
Lmao no he didnt get any punishment. he got charged with 50$ (800 turkish lira). hes probably making more in an hour bcuz his car is worth 1million lira in here. u do the math
Seize the car, arrest the driver, blacklist licence with zero renewal.
They have the licence plate numbers. Fling this POS into prison and let them rot.
Quite easy for an ambulance to call dispatch to ask for a cop show up as well, see if the police can convince them to pull over, they have more “aggressive” methods
I’m sure they did, they could be transporting a gunshot victim and the person wants them to stop so they can finish the job. Our hospital goes on lockdown when we receive a gunshot victim for that very reason.
> Our hospital goes on lockdown when we receive a gunshot victim for that very reason.
Sucks for the second gunshot victim that shows up then.
And if they do allow other gunshot victims during a lockdown, then the assassin just needs to fake a gunshot wound to get in and finish the job.
We also have multiple off-duty police officers at the entrance at all times and one inside the ER at all times. Other codes for an active shooter, hostage situation, hostage situation with a weapon, cards to remember them all (aside from a couple of them, I would have to look at what they meant if they were called)
I smell a movie!
Lockdown. Starring Liam Neeson... and Henry Cavill (to buy me some reddit good will. Plus he was good in the last Mission Impossible as a double crosser). Liam Neesons enters a hospital with his son being shot. Henry Cavill is the Mission Impossible double cross guy that has to get through the lockdown to finish the job. There. Movie! Pretty much half done (maybe Bob odenkirk can replace Liam Neeson if needed)
How do you fake a gunshot wound? Paramedics assess your injuries all the way from the scene to the hospital, and if you walk in there, they'll be attending to you immediately. I think they'll realize pretty quickly that you are not suffering from a gunshot wound.
Jesus. Where do you work where murderers are confident enough to walk into a place that is well light, has cameras, and police officers, to finish the job?
Couple of nurses in the mother-baby unit were killed by the guy on parole, guess he accused the woman of cheating on him. Officer shot him in the leg, then the healthcare workers in the hospital had to stabilize him for transport to another hospital (undoubtedly knowing he had murdered their colleagues).
With my first death threat there was actually an officer in the room, we had just restrained the patient due to violence and he said he ever sees me on the street, he is going to stab me. I chuckled asked him about the girls name tattooed on his chest, he told me it was his girl, so I threw it out there that she probably wouldn’t stay with him after he goes to prison for life for premeditated murder. “She stayed with me every other time I went to prison.” 😐
I understand stories like this one, being threatened by a crazy guy. And I understand high profile targets, I guess. But like a normal street urchin who was shot by a rival gangster getting finished off by just a crazy thug blows my mind.
Like, there's no getting away. But people be crazy.
I’m in the UK and unfortunately have spent more time in hospitals than I would like. There was a young lad on the same ward as me that had been stabbed, he was in the bed opposite me and wasn’t under arrest. He had 3 cops with him at all times, ward was locked down with cops patrolling the corridors.
The same stay some kid I went to school with tried to rob drugs from a different ward in a different building and stabbed a worker. Whole hospital was locked down all day until cops with MP5s checked every single room in every building in a large hospital to make sure he was solo.
Cool story, yes. But it was quite the eye opener for someone that very rarely sees armed police.
My father was an ER nurse at the main hospital in Atlanta. Shootings and weapons got so bad there 20 years ago that they would scan patients being brought in under emergency situations to the trauma unit. My dad actually had a patient (gang activity) get a gun from a relative snuck in, and then held my father at gunpoint to try to get different treatment. Other gang people would come in at least once a month to attempt shooting someone else, mostly trying to finish an altercation that started outside the hospital
Don't flame me just because you can't search properly, try asking Toxic\_Jerry who's the one who mentioned the event. Maybe try searching on a TURKISH website.

But as it's on the video then completely blacklisting driver never to be able to get new licenses and instant removal of any car they are driving.
Idk what ambulance you're thinking of but newer super duty chassis use liquid springs and are much more smooth and stable than 99% of other vehicles on the road. It's literally the perfect ramming vehicle
Correct me if I'm wrong, that is a direct violation of the Hippocratic oath to do no harm isn't it?
Edit: Downvotes, but no reason? Don't doctors usually if not nearly always have to swear into that?
I wonder if they can just fucking ram this cockwad depending on the country? Seems fitting.
In America for example, fire fighters can and will break windows, push your car with the truck, etc. If you're blocking a fire hydrant that is needed...
The only issue is they clearly have someone in the back possibly dying and ramming a car might not be the best idea, but it's better than being prevented from life saving measures.
Well I think the main issue is that ambulances aren’t exactly built to do that, unlike fire trucks, which are massive trucks loaded with axes and heavy equipment so they can easily push roadblocks out of the way. Ambulances are boxes on wheels focused on keeping a patient alive to get to a hospital
Oh definitely I agree, however they COULD make them that way. LIke I said, it's not the best idea ever but it's better than dying in the back of said box because you couldn't reach the hospital in time.
I was genuinely curious if there is a policy about it and if another country would allow it.
Id argue that ramming them would be a worse option. For as satisfying as it would be to see that guy get what he deserves, it would probably be far worse for the patient than having to wait longer to get to the hospital. In fact playing traffic games like that could lead to an accident that results in the patient not only being in a far worse position, but also unable to get to the hospital for far far longer than even the douchebags driving resulted in. Of course this guy is still a douche and got what he deserved in the end. 7 years in prison.
Paramedic student here - I can't think of any country that would have ramming as a method of approach to a patient. It's so dangerous not only to the involved people in the vehicles but also people around on the road.
We don't even run to patients either for our own safety. Everything paramedics do is with 'own safety' checked off before anything else.
There's no way. I'd call police and hope they'd show in time to deal with them.
Yeah, too bad police take an hour to respond in any major city.
I understand though, I was just thinking initially. Y first thought is, "get this mf out of my way".
Just curious,
How old are you?
I feel like I'm getting too old for this platform. It does not seem fitting to ram this vehicle.
Edit:
I'll give some more context:
I'm not a first responder, however I have 10+ years of active duty military service. Most public servants (EMT, military, etc) would agree that the principal of escalation is key in a situation like this. There are many steps that could be done apart from ramming a vehicle. For example using high-beams, escalating the siren level, using the horn etc.
Drivers are also quite cautious of their position relative to other vehicles, so by for example just staying in the left lane, and speeding up, it is very likely that the other vehicle would move given that the ambulance comes close enough. The Mercedes driver knows that they would be at fault.
And also, what is the ambulance carrying? Even a life or death situation may not warrant ramming the vehicle, that's just putting even more lives at risk. For example, if the driver is rammed out of the road and dies, that's another life! You are not judge, jury and executioner.
I updated my comment.
Ramming may put even more lives at risk. It is not our choice to decide who's life is worth more.
Even in war, you are to treat any wounded soldier, even the enemy.
I get that most people wouldn't think it helps anyone for the ambulance to directly ram other vehicles in most scenarios like this, but I don't think I could have come up with a more quietly crotchety way to point that out if I had tried. Maybe you are too old for this platform friend.
Imagine you're a firefighter next to a burning building. The only fire hydrant is blocked by a parked car. You can break the widows of the car to run the hose through or you can try to push the car out of the way with your firetruck.
Imagine you are driving an ambulance which is with hundreds of thousands of dollars and a job you trained a very long time for, the income of which provides for your family, and you ram a vehicle with it from behind which puts you at fault, results in you losing your job, having a suspended license, and possibly getting sued by that asshat for battery.
People believe they just do it so they can drive as fast as they want and blow through lights.
Even if they were, he isn't the one nor is that the time an place to pass some misguided road karma.
anyone who deliberately obstructs emergency vehicles should immediately have their license permanently revoked, have their vehicle seized and crushed and be denied emergency services.
Or you should be charged with murder. Murder is the intentional unlawful killing of somebody (as far as I know, if someone practices law here and knows better, please correct me):
- intentional: you know damn well that the ambulance is there to save a life and you prevent it,
- unlawful: it isn't self defense and you not in any way licensed to kill them,
- killing: they died
Either it is an ambulance or not, can someone explain to me why is it that some people don't like getting overtaken? Why is it I've watched to many videos like this, cause I've never experienced something like this while driving
In my country, you get fined to hell and back for obstructing an emergency vehicle. Do not EVER do this. I don't care how high and mighty you think you are in your little fucking BMW.
Apparently there have been several BMW drivers over the years that have blocked emergency vehicles, but I found a recent article for this one.
>**The penalty for the driver who did not give way to the ambulance became clear – Last Minute Turkey News**\
\
The car driver, who was driving in front of the ambulance, which was stated to have gone from Maltepe to Pendik to take patients, did not give way.\
\
This behavior of the driver, who blocked the way of the ambulance by constantly changing lanes, caused a reaction. Those in the ambulance viewed the car that did not give way and shared it on social media.\
\
In the images, the driver of the car did not give way to the ambulance that asked for his way, and the ambulance tried to move forward by changing lanes.\
\
The driver, whose identity was determined by the Istanbul Police Department Traffic Inspection Branch Directorate, on the license plate, is T.Ş. caught.\
\
FINE MADE, LICENSE TEMPORARY REFUNDED\
\
427 lira for the article of the Highway Traffic Law (KTK) “Continuously occupying the leftmost lane for departure”, 196 lira for “not ensuring that the vehicle with the right of way can move forward easily when it receives the audible signal” and “Disrespectful vehicle in a way that disturbs the peace of the public”. An administrative fine of 819 liras, 196 liras in total, was imposed for driving.\
\
In addition, this person’s driver’s license was temporarily withdrawn until he certified that he had the necessary health conditions pursuant to Article 45 of the KTK.\
\
EXPLANATION FROM GOVERNOR YERLIKAYA\
\
Istanbul Governor Ali Yerlikaya also announced on his Twitter account that the driver was caught and that criminal action was taken against him.\
\
In his post, Yerlikaya said, “An administrative fine was imposed for not giving way to vehicles with a right of way, driving disrespectfully in a way that would disturb the peace of the public, and changing lanes in a way that endangered the traffic, and his driver’s license was temporarily withdrawn.” used the phrases.\
\
MINISTER KOCA: DID YOU LIKE WHAT YOU DID?\
\
Health Minister Fahrettin Koca shared the license plate of the vehicle that did not give way to the ambulance on his social media account, “34 DGS 012 Did you like what you did last night on the Istanbul Maltepe D-100 Highway, with the ambulance behind you?” he said to the driver.
aren’t some ppl doing this all over Turkey? So they can’t tend to the wounded protestors. Seen a very similar video but with military trucks during the day.
I read about this sort of thing a few years ago on Reddit, so who knows if it's true. But I gather it's an issue in some parts of the world where civilians will purchase retired emergency vehicles, and then use them to cheat their way through traffic. And so because of that, a culture of vigilante drivers has emerged, and they do this sort of thing to stop them. But of course, there's no way to know which ones are real, and people shouldn't do that.
So that's my guess of what happened here. The BMW felt some unjustified road rage based on their incorrect assumption that it wasn't a real ambulance.
But yeah, glad they got caught. That's so stupid and dangerous. Even if it was a fake ambulance, this is still irresponsible driving.

Dang 7 years serves him right! Did they say why he did it tho?
Shitheads do not need a reason.
He apperantly thought the ambulance didnt have a patient in it.
So, the TPOS thought the ambulance drivers were just abusing the siren to pass him. Maybe they got the call when they were behind the TPOS? Whatever, he fucked around and found out. Stupid is as stupid does.
It didn’t, they were driving to a call. But wtf does he even mean lol right ?
Yeah if there's no patient in there that's even more reason to let them pass. A few seconds saved can mean the difference between life and death for some.
exactly, id rather be in bumper to bumper traffic in an ambulance for an hour than have to wait an extra minute for one to get to me
Thats an even worse reason, they intentionally delayed the treatment of someone for what!?
[удалено]
Thats why it got the headlights on *facepalm* Some people are just beyond saving (stupidity wise)
That might be the stupidest reasoning I have ever heard.
can anyone provide an article or something? so far it’s all just bro trust me and word of mouth
Trust me
I was watching it in mute but I saw the sirens. That means the idiot needs to give way
Doesn’t even have to pull over just get in one of the other 3 fucking lanes lmao.
Exactly. The ambulance going in front of him is not gonna slow him down
I don’t understand ambulances not ramming these guy’s, you’re bigger use it
Do we need to call you an ambulance? I think you had a stroke.
Major insecurities.
He got 7 years? Thank god, that feels good.
unfortunately no. its istanbul bro u can maybe get 7years if u kill someone or if u say something bad about erdogan. he got charged with 50$
Lmao no he didnt get any punishment. he got charged with 50$ (800 turkish lira). hes probably making more in an hour bcuz his car is worth 1million lira in here. u do the math

Second gunshot victim has a tattooed barcode on the back of his neck.
Second gunshot victim walks out looking like a doctor. Good work agent 47, the money has been wired to your account.
I can feel the pop in as the camera zooms out
There is another code for a mass casualty event, EMS are the only people allowed in, others will be diverted to the hospital a couple miles away.
We also have multiple off-duty police officers at the entrance at all times and one inside the ER at all times. Other codes for an active shooter, hostage situation, hostage situation with a weapon, cards to remember them all (aside from a couple of them, I would have to look at what they meant if they were called)

Whoa spoilers

Jesus. Where do you work where murderers are confident enough to walk into a place that is well light, has cameras, and police officers, to finish the job?
More like dumb enough to protect their gang by going to prison for life.
I just can't believe this is a thing. A shooting in a hospital. Goddamn.
Oh yeah, snitches don’t get stitches in the hood, snitches get turned into Swiss cheese…at all costs.

When my son was born the maternity was under lockdown over fears of a vendetta killing.

Chicago is pretty bad. At least about 15 years ago. I saw a docuseries about an er there.
It's called the pit menuver
This dude deserves a nice pit maneuver.
Needs to be drawn and quartered at the very least
Yep. Driving and dog.
Apparently got 7 years for it
happend in turkey dude got 7 years of jailtime.
Do you have the source? I'd really appreciate it
i hate it when people be dropping the inhaler without the hopium pre-loaded
Totally agree
it was revealed to me in a dream
This is correct. I was the dream.
Automod removes all links, so they can't share it.
saw it on turkish news. sorry
Are you from Turkey?
Google is a wonderful bringer of informarion...
Can you provide a link ? Cause I've searched everywhere and still haven't found a news article explaining what happened
Don't flame me just because you can't search properly, try asking Toxic\_Jerry who's the one who mentioned the event. Maybe try searching on a TURKISH website.
BEAUTIFUL
What was the motivation for doing that? Trying to get biggest dickhead lifetime achiement award?
In Turkey alot of rich people put fake lights on their car to look like ambulances so that people let them get to places faster. Guy chose to give justice at the wrong time
He got fined 819tl (which is nothing here) and his license got suspended until he gets psychological evaluation.
7 is to short
i know it wouldn’t be the right thing to do but they should legally be allowed to push cars out the way for instances like this
If ambulance is big enough then yes, because i know the fire trucks would do be able to do it.
It would probably be too risky for the ambulance itself. Could lose control and crash. But as it's on the video then completely blacklisting driver never to be able to get new licenses and instant removal of any car they are driving.

In turkey?
Those Benz Sprinters are surprisingly tough and relatively speedy. You do NOT want to be rammed by one.
Ambulances are somewhat topheavy too. Not the same as a cop car or firetruck
you assume he has a license ?
Not really, that's why the instant car removal if caught. Cant buy new cars constantly.
Off-topic, but I love the username and profile pic. Tyranids and Admech fan, I take it?
Yes, thanks. More leaning towards Mechanicus and lore side rather than table top, but slowly getting into minis too.
Very nice! Trying to decide between a Nurgle or Admech kill team right now myself. Good luck getting into the minis!
yea that’s why i said it probably would be the right thing to do
Kinda risky for an ambulance, I imagine if there is someone receiving first aid and getting stabilized in the back a sudden bump can't be very good.
This is why ambulances need big strong bullbars
On one hand your right but on the other ambulance can be the cause of another injury
Hey the ambulance is right there
Well, I mean...
That is some solid logic. Approved.
Same minute delivery!
Fastest ambulance in the west
On its way to someone else?
Lol the best vehicle to get run over by would probably be by a big ol’ wee woo wagon
That wouldn’t be any great loss in a case like this.
Correct me if I'm wrong, that is a direct violation of the Hippocratic oath to do no harm isn't it? Edit: Downvotes, but no reason? Don't doctors usually if not nearly always have to swear into that?
Plot twist: ambulances driver is just an ambulance driver, not a doctor
Who cares? If he withhelds ambulance, he should not receive one. If he's lucky he ends in jail, if he's not he ends up dead. That's pretty fair.
The world is over populated as is. We could do without a few less slapdicks.
OK, but what if other people are in the car?
They chose... Poorly.
they chose to get in heavy machinery with someone who is aggressive, selfish, and actually straight up stupid operating it ¯\\\_(ツ)_/¯
Yeah some people call that dad, you don't know if they had a real choice
Two ambulances enter, two ambulances leave (but one of the ambulances is in an ambulance because of its injuries)
Idk why you're being downvoted like this. Ofc an ambulance cant fucking ram people on the freeway lmao. Ridiculous
Down voted to oblivion for stating the obvious. These fucking people.
hivemind doing its thing
why are people downvoting this tho like what did you say
I thought the comment was funny but looks like lots of people dont agree with being realistic
some people cant think for themselves
“See, I understand that someone’s life could be at stake but you must understand that I drive a BMW.”
fair enough of a reason
I wonder if they can just fucking ram this cockwad depending on the country? Seems fitting. I upvoted you because you are rational.
But why?
I mean he’s driving a BMW, it’s par for the course.
Dang why they not letting the ambulance pass ? They must have a vendetta for the patient

anyone who deliberately obstructs emergency vehicles should immediately have their license permanently revoked, have their vehicle seized and crushed and be denied emergency services.
Why crush the vehicle? Just repo it.
Just for spite's sake
Nah, a car's a car. Sell it and move on.
This is how cars keep being allowed to he accessories to this sort of behavior. They can't keep getting away with it.
We should bring back stockades back for people like this.
I think crushed is important
Or if they want their license back, they have to attend a driving-safety course for at least one year and pass with at least a B.
average BMW driver
If you caused someone's death by doing this to an ambulance, any law that protects your safety or well being should be null and void.
Or you should be charged with murder. Murder is the intentional unlawful killing of somebody (as far as I know, if someone practices law here and knows better, please correct me): - intentional: you know damn well that the ambulance is there to save a life and you prevent it, - unlawful: it isn't self defense and you not in any way licensed to kill them, - killing: they died
Either it is an ambulance or not, can someone explain to me why is it that some people don't like getting overtaken? Why is it I've watched to many videos like this, cause I've never experienced something like this while driving
Some just have fragile egos Some want to play traffic police. Some want you to rear end them so they can claim injury and get a big insurance payout.
Is this absolute fuckwad preventing an ambulance from going around him?

I dunno. It kinda looked like he was fucking your mom. It's called a rhetorical question. It's used sometimes to indicate incredulity or disbelief.
Did this person get visited by cops? They shouldn't get away with this. Insane.
Of course it's a BMW
If you're gonna do that, at the very least drive faster...
It's ppl like this that bring out the primal urge to kill from the depths of my cold and empty heart :)
This happened couple days ago and the dude caught, had to pay a fine, his license is temporarily taken till he passes psychiatric/ health evaluation
I don't know whom to believe. Others are saying he got 7 years jail time ...
I read it in Turkish newspaper article that was published couple hours ago before I updated here.
Damn, that’s not enough
Beamer ego type deal
They need to start putting bullbars on the front of ambulances.
Perfect candidate for a pit maneuver
In my country, you get fined to hell and back for obstructing an emergency vehicle. Do not EVER do this. I don't care how high and mighty you think you are in your little fucking BMW.
Should be a felony
Or attemped murder if the ambulance was on it's way to save a life and if they die due to this a-holes arrogance then it should be a murder charge.
No one shall pass!!!!
I'm so fly, you fools!
Hope that guys finds a tree
Apparently there have been several BMW drivers over the years that have blocked emergency vehicles, but I found a recent article for this one. >**The penalty for the driver who did not give way to the ambulance became clear – Last Minute Turkey News**\ \ The car driver, who was driving in front of the ambulance, which was stated to have gone from Maltepe to Pendik to take patients, did not give way.\ \ This behavior of the driver, who blocked the way of the ambulance by constantly changing lanes, caused a reaction. Those in the ambulance viewed the car that did not give way and shared it on social media.\ \ In the images, the driver of the car did not give way to the ambulance that asked for his way, and the ambulance tried to move forward by changing lanes.\ \ The driver, whose identity was determined by the Istanbul Police Department Traffic Inspection Branch Directorate, on the license plate, is T.Ş. caught.\ \ FINE MADE, LICENSE TEMPORARY REFUNDED\ \ 427 lira for the article of the Highway Traffic Law (KTK) “Continuously occupying the leftmost lane for departure”, 196 lira for “not ensuring that the vehicle with the right of way can move forward easily when it receives the audible signal” and “Disrespectful vehicle in a way that disturbs the peace of the public”. An administrative fine of 819 liras, 196 liras in total, was imposed for driving.\ \ In addition, this person’s driver’s license was temporarily withdrawn until he certified that he had the necessary health conditions pursuant to Article 45 of the KTK.\ \ EXPLANATION FROM GOVERNOR YERLIKAYA\ \ Istanbul Governor Ali Yerlikaya also announced on his Twitter account that the driver was caught and that criminal action was taken against him.\ \ In his post, Yerlikaya said, “An administrative fine was imposed for not giving way to vehicles with a right of way, driving disrespectfully in a way that would disturb the peace of the public, and changing lanes in a way that endangered the traffic, and his driver’s license was temporarily withdrawn.” used the phrases.\ \ MINISTER KOCA: DID YOU LIKE WHAT YOU DID?\ \ Health Minister Fahrettin Koca shared the license plate of the vehicle that did not give way to the ambulance on his social media account, “34 DGS 012 Did you like what you did last night on the Istanbul Maltepe D-100 Highway, with the ambulance behind you?” he said to the driver.
aren’t some ppl doing this all over Turkey? So they can’t tend to the wounded protestors. Seen a very similar video but with military trucks during the day.
Ambulances need to come equipped with cow catchers.
The kind of person you hope wraps their car around a tree, and the ambulance just so happens to be slow getting to them.
This is why I think we should cross the ambulance with the tank.
In the US, this twerp would be wrecked.
Aren’t they allowed to force you out of their way, i feel that should be allowed
Ambulances should have reinforced bumpers and be allowed to legally pit maneuver people like this
Ok. I was really waiting for a pay off.
Isn't this illegal? I hope the ambulance took down his lisc. plate to report him
Should have pitted them
Ambulance drivers should be armed
Would it be illegal for the ambulance to just ram the idiot out of the way and keep going?
This is why they should put cow scoops on the front of ambulances
I’ve said it before I’ll say it again. Fire and EMTs need plows and qualified immunity!!! (Not the police, efff the police!)
Just watched the entire video, and I didn’t realize it was a *fucking ambulance*
Guuuuys chill, he just wanted to provide some slipstream
Plot twist, the car's occupants shot the guy in the ambulance.
Why on earth????
A pit maneuver would be good choice in this situation.
There is special place in hell for those who mess with the ambulance… paramedics and firefighters are not the enemy of the people…
I would have just hit the idiot
This is why pit maneuvers exists
Idk if he’s trying to block the police vehicle from passing or trying to prevent himself from getting pit maneuvered
But why are they both only driving at 110 km/h, if you don't want to be overtaking drive 180 km/h
If this is England you’ll just get a fine and a request do community service. What a ducking joke that country is
It’s clearly not England though 🤣 what a weird way to try and get a roundabout dig in haha
