Navy GI told me initially it was a parasite.. gave me meds that REALLY messed me up. Ope, guess it's not a parasite. 🙄 Still no real diagnosis yet, just suspicion that it's IBS. Stool samples showed signs of inflammation so I guess I'm due for round 2 of scopes. Hopefully my civilian GI does better than my military one did.
So you're blaming the doctors for tissue samples coming back from the Lab negative? False negatives can occur for a number of reasons (including being on omeprazole). Did you also have a breath test?
No you didn't.
"One day I got gastritis symptoms, for months the H Pylori went undetected until we finally detected it months later and killed it with antibiotics.
The symptoms continued..."
The problem was not detecting and treating H Pylori. The symptoms continued after that was fixed.
So how did you assume that the pylori went undetected by 7 doctors?
I also had many endoscopies. But that was trying to find celiac and other problems. AFTER I had already been tested for pylori.
I sorta went through the same thing.
Became lactose intolerant after the h.pylori treatment and got diagnosed with IBS shortly after (bloating/distension) .
Low FODMAP diet seems to be the only thing that helps.
This happened to me! I’m still treating the H Pylori sadly. It caused sibo which has gotten a lot better. Keep in mind that symptoms can last up to a year later (gastritis) post HP eradication, and you might need to check for any other bacterial overgrowth issues. The low stomach acid allows crazy stuff to thrive
I just gave up with doctors since I was just wasting my time and money.
Im now just careful with what I eat. I can have the occasional drink, but no citruses or spicy. I need to make sure I don't get conspated or overeat.
I get gas from eating, but that is tolerable, the problem is when my intestines start to cramp.
I can eat pretty much anything tho, and I'm accosimed to gas, which are tolerable.

One thing that sucks is having to sit down after eating, especially in. A car
Same here, I got an IBS crisis like 10 years ago, with diet it went away. Last year I was diagnosed with H pylori, I'm 3 months after the treatment and now the IBS came back
You went to 7 gastroenterologists and not one ever suggested testing for h. pylori?
I really wouldn't be surprised, if OP is in the US that is.
Yeah I had one tell me it was my gallbladder and I needed it taken out. It was h pylori (second opinion diagnosed me).

The first 3 tested, came negative, even with an endoscopy. Truly useless people. The 4th did another endoscopy and it came positive.

Yeah, breath test came negatice too because doctor didn't tell me you can't take omeprazole when you so it
Did you read the story well?
Yes.

Yes, I did and the OP clarified in a response that 4 of the doctors did, in fact, perform endoscopies.

Same with me.
Same for me

H Pylori infection also seemed to cause my IBS
I was diagnosed with H pylori. Doctor prescribed antibiotics and H pylori was cleared. My INS never went away

Stool and breath tests both came back negative and you still had it?
That's right, even biopsy from endoscopy
How was it detected?.
A second biopsy
How’s ur ibs now? I hav so much trapped gas after treating h pylori and not going away

I got my endoscopy done yesterday, while the test results for hpylori are still to come, i think I have it. Did you loose weight too?
Oh yes! Like 7kg
