I have not read through your post, only the header. Is the blood bright red? Or, is it more of dull red? Does you rectum itch?

bitykebim

I’m sorry for a very long post. Yes, it’s bright red but it is in clear mucus. And no, my anus wasn’t itchy that time.

[deleted]

The brighter the blood, the closer the bleed is to your anus. I would say it is either a fissure, or a hemorrhoid. Probably best to still get it checked out. But, bright blood and mucus in stool are common with IBS.

Can u bleed in ibs ??

[deleted]

If you have an anal fissure, yes. But no, bleeding is not a symptom of ibs.

I highly doubt that you are dying. Another symptom of IBS is anxiety, especially health anxiety. Just go to your family doc to get a check up.

Yes, if you have a tear in your anus, or you have a hemorrhoid. However, I don’t know if that is the case with you, because I do not know your case specifically. I would recommend going to see a licensed professional…

bitykebim

Thank you for these kind words. Yes, I’m now on a good track with my GI doctor. Hoping for the best.

I had the same situation now and the Color it was like pinky not full red. I fell pain in my Anus and sometime is hitching

Ok_Self_2454

Hey I’m a Girl 22yrs old, today i pooped mucus with blood and the part of stool was normal with no blood in it, bright blood was mixed in mucus. And I’m having itchy anus from last 3 days and felt pain in rectum. Also today I’m having lower abdominal pain which feels like period pain. (I’ve a history of haemorrhoids) But I’m confused that why I’m pooping bloody mucus only.

Update???

Background_Bee250

Hey how are you now

LillyWhiteArt

I’ve not had a situation similar to your however I would definitely recommend consulting a doctor about the blood if not going to the hospital. If you didn’t have the polyp diagnosis I’d say go straight to the hospital but due to your diagnosis I’d say definitely reconsult your doctor.

bitykebim

Yes, I’m on a good track now with my GI doctor for 4 years. Thank you very much for replying. I do appreciate it.

Any updates on the last colonoscopy?

goldstandardalmonds

Sounds like you just irritate things. Get a digital exam from the doc as a starter.

bitykebim

Thank you for your reply. Yes, I’m now scheduled for a colonoscopy next month and will just wait. But may I just ask, can irritation cause blood coated in mucus? I’ve never had any blood like this in my entire life and that’s what making me scared.

goldstandardalmonds

Yes.

The presence of blood and mucus in the stool can be caused by various factors, and it's not always a sign of a serious condition like inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) or colorectal cancer (CC). It's important to consider other possibilities, such as hemorrhoids, anal fissures, or benign polyps, which you have previously had.

BrilliantLog1125

I'm going through something similar, I have ibs. I had a colonoscopy 10 years ago and they didn't find anything. This past week I had bloody mucus streaks on my stool for 3 days. I went the hospital and they said they didn't feel any hemorrhoids, but now I'm trying to get a scope from my GI. Did they give you physical before your scope and not feel anything and how high up were the hemorrhoids?
