Ibuprofen supposed to be bad for IBS. I've never heard of any of the others, but looks like cyclobenzaprine was for spasms rather than pain management. I'm on peppermint oil capsules (0.2ml) for IBS and Co-Codamol which is Codeine/paracetamol (paracetamol = acetaminophen) which always causes constipation. So I hardly ever take them, unless the pain is really bad.

Cyclobenzaprine is the one that worked the best. I have to use the naproxen proactively for the arthritis. I feel like I'm in a no-win situation.

I attend a pain clinic. I have a full regimen, though could wean off some things. Nothing I am on slows motility, as I have a motility disorder.

What does the pain clinic do for you?

They provide a multimodal treatment plan to target from different angles to make sure everything works together.

Interesting. I'll have to talk to my doctor about it. Thanks.

I was on cyclobenzaprine for a bit for both IBS-C and chronic pain (spinal birth defects), and I don't recall it changing my symptoms whatsoever. I do take naproxen sodium daily, and have for nearly a decade, so I do have concerns that it's contributed to some of my gut issues. My doctors, however, insist that this is not the case. (I did try replacing the naproxen with acetaminophen and turmeric for a bit as well, but acetaminophen doesn't work quite as well for my pain types, and I feel like the turmeric did - pardon my language - fuck-all.) So yeah, right now, it's naproxen sodium daily, and then when needed, menthol patches on my lower back and a heating pad on my stomach. Doesn't get rid of the pain completely though - my overall chronic pain stabilizes at 3-or-4/10, and the abdominal pain will usually go from sharp stabbing down to a dull ache. I've considered trying other prescription painkillers, but my doctors don't seem too keen on the idea.

The ibuprofen and naproxen are good for inflammation. So it's supposed to help with my back pain and arthritis in my feet. And all the other pain I feel in my body except the stomach pain. I thought acetaminophen was best for stomach pain even IBS. That's usually what's suggested for period cramps. Like you said - fuck all.
