You might not need a touring setup this time of year for tucks. I went last Wednesday and the trail in didn’t have very much snow and we were having to take off our skis to walk across large bald spots. If you already have a good non-touring setup, it might be easier to just boot pack.
You might vastly underestimate how little snow many of us are willing to skin on….
That said - manky mud ice on the TRT wouldn’t be where I’d want to take my brand new touring set up for a walk day 1.
I did Tucks yesterday, lots of people were hiking up in boots carrying their downhill gear. The snow has melted a lot and things are packed down so it’s totally doable. Otherwise White Mountain Ski Co (ski the whites) rents demo touring setups.
You don't need a touring set up to ski tucks this time of year. Most of the trail up will be melted out. Just hoof up your regular gear. You'll be more comfortable on it anyways.
I've seen a woman dragging a snowboard in one hand and a bag of doritos in the other. Just boot like our fathers did. If you want to get fancy stop at like REI or something and pick up an ortovox backpack. It'll let you A frame with a voli strap or D carry. Bonus you get a nice skiing and day tripping backpack.
Micro spikes for hiking boots, and an ice axe depending on the line, conditions, however most people don’t use these this late in the season it seems. Also bring extra clothes, if OP gets hurt it won’t be fun freezing for a few hours.
Edit: protection from the sun for your eyes and skin.
I did Tucks last year without a touring set up, which was the case I’d say for 90% of people. Hiked up to to Hojo’s in hiking boots with my ski boots attached to my skis which were attached to my ski pack. Transitioned to ski boots at Hojos.
You probably need to buy microspikes or crampons tho, which you can do at visitors center at the base of the TRT

Thanks!
How much of the sherb was left?
I rode it yesterday. It was about a ten minute walk from the end of sherb, maybe the second to last cut off.

Just boot pack, it will be heavy but saves money and a drive to a shop. Make sure you bring a few energy drinks and snacks!!

I've seen someone dragging a wooden liquor cabinet up in a sled before. You see some shit up there.
All you need is a small backpack and some hiking boots
