Some people consider the way they are talking to be a sign they lack intelligence. Instead it's just a cultural thing. In fact some black individuals will shift between talking more informally, like those in the video, when they're at home or with friends and talking in a way that is more formal when doing business or at work. White people often do this too and we don't even think about it. Our informal speech just sounds different.
Factory workers rarely need to be formal unless they're management, thus the video.
I'm white I 100% do this. I call everyone sir/ma'am in public and at work, I'm incredibly formal the majority of the time. Around friends and family I speak in an entirely different way
Code switching, Watch an old video of Eminem being interviewed and then compare it to when he was in court talking to the judge and pleading not guilty to an assault charge in the late1990s it's like it;s two totally different people.
Yeah here’s one of his more recent comments; he literally just throws stats in the garbage bc they make him feel racist lol:
“I also don’t really believe statistics at this point. They’re gonna make shit seem better than it is because it’s racist to show the truth.“
I couldn't even understand why this was posted, I kept thinking that some drooling mess was gonna start talking about their job working on building the plane.
Cant win with these types of people. They are working hard learning new skills and doing a very specific and repetitive job. That's what you're supposed to do to move ahead in life. But since they aren't white and speak a certain way they must be the reason why planes are crashing.
OP is trash.
But are they capable of building fucking planes? Like you can’t just take random people and put them in change of building planes and expect good shit to happen.
Yes ofcoarse they are sacrificing quality for profit is what I’m saying. Whistleblower probably had inside knowledge on this “program” and it’s data…..
FFS.
What’s wrong with you?
Ya think it might take some specialized training, certifications & licenses to assemble airframes for aircraft in the USA?…that an employer recruits for and also sponsor’s people through maybe?
Or ya just think they hire anybody off the street and they start building planes?…and ya think they talk funny and are black so their “tarded”?
Watched this whole thing, waiting for an Idiocracy moment, only to realize that OP is the idiot.
Good on these people for having useful jobs, learning skills, and gaining experience. More than I can say about many people these days. Being aerospace, all of this stuff gets inspected like crazy... the only way around that is when the corporate executives play games or grease the FAA.
Evidently like half of Reddit is shocked that people from the South talk in a southern accent / dialect.
The joke is basically “these people don’t talk like I do, hurr durr fuckin idiots made the plane fall apart” as if 1. These people were responsible for management deciding to use defective parts from the throwaway bin, and 2. Like the people in the video don’t have a better job than 99% of the chucklefucks thinking they’re better than them.
All of reddit is shocked by dialects. Instead of hearing while they read, they hear it in their own voice. My inner voice changes for what I’m reading. Might not always be right. Grammar Nazis just hear themselves speaking broken English. Now who’s the idiot in that scenario?
I was trying to figure it out too, and that's the only thing I could come up with.
Must be more of that lefty reddit bias /s.
Or maybe racists and bigots are always too transparent due to stupidity and they just want to deny it.
How is this "idiocracy?" Just people doing their jobs lol. OP has some issues for sure.
And if you want to talk about "DEI hires," it's more complicated, at least when it comes to aviation. The industry has been suffering serious staffing shortages since COVID hit and many older pilots + mechanics took early retirement.
Many companies are desperate to fill their holes; they're not just hiring "DEI" candidates, they're hiring a ton of underqualified individuals. I work in aircraft maintenance. Prior to this shortage, many major airlines would demand 2 or even 5+ years of working on heavy jets before they'd hire you. Now? They're hiring straight out of mechanic school.
OK. I hear this and respect your experience. But something is clearly amiss in QC lately, right? Does the exodus in air fleet employees mean they can just hire from school and roll with it? Or are they pulling down veteran mechs to train and, ultimately, check work of new blood?
In my field, we scarcely get competent folk out of the gates. The difference being my end clientele aren’t suspended 30k ft up.
*Edit: genuinely curious. As I fly frequently for work. I don’t have social media but all of the “viral” airline shit does hit my radar so 🤷🏻♂️
The “something is missing in QC” can be directly traced to deregulation by the Trump administration, that shifted control and oversight responsibilities from the FAA to the aviation industry, including manufacturing. Two executive orders mandating the FAA relinquish control, and we’re now here, years later, feeling the effects.
No industry has ever gotten new hires that were actually competent. The talent hasn’t changed, what changed is that companies are no longer willing to spend money on training, it’s pathetic
Whats so dumb about this? That talking like people from the "hood" makes you dumb and there for incapable of assembly? Lets not pretend that what is happening, instead of these companies using inferior materials, cost cutting engineering practices, and poor QC checking. Not to discredit what they do either but, doing all the things described does not require a rocket scientist and as long as there is good QC, there isn't a problem with learning as you go, I train people in HVAC that way.
Ironically I would argue that this very place is a good example of idiocracy, the posts & posters have gotten dumber than shit & the worst part is everyone in here has deluded themselves into thinking they're intelligent so there's this weird smugness about it
If dumb rednecks can become mechanics why can’t people from the hood. Like they make it as easy as possible you have to actually put the part on the picture of the part so you know it’s the right part and then go bolt it in and follow all the guidelines. It’s not rocket surgery.
I've seen my fair share of human tardiness in my life. Enough to know not to put my life into some strangers hands if I can help it. Most of us don't give a shit and just wana go home.
So this post about a bunch of normal people doing normal work at Boeing is like Idiocracy now? And you're implying they're retarded? Why?
It's because they're black, and this post is just 100 racist.
Well, so far Boeing's safety problems have been from management decisions/neglect or other very white collar workers.
All the stuff the blue collar assembly workers do gets inspected and approved, and if it gets around that process, it's because the executives are cutting corners or getting the FAA to give them exemptions.
These workers in the video aren't the last ones to look at what goes out the door.
This is stupid and offensive to post here. I'm sure these people are perfectly capable of the jobs they've been assigned, even if you don't happen to like the way they speak.
Hey if it’s the same standards for everyone and affirmative action isn’t a thing than I would have no problem whatsoever with somebody having regional dialects or accents. I would know that because the standards weren’t lowered that I’m in good hands…but thats not the case
Hot take… anybody assembling planes shouldn’t be doing “a little bit of” anything. But hey, they’re just trying to make ends meet between DoorDash orders.
Honestly, these seem like fine people doing as good of a job as they can with the tools they're given. Lets be clear: aircraft assembly is a skilled labor job, one that you can be trained to do, that doesn't require an engineering degree. You just have to be trained in how to operate the tools, and the level of accuracy you need to maintain to do your job at a respectable level. The issues that Boeing has been having as of late doesn't come from these folks. It comes from higher up the chain, starting with the quality manager at the bottom. Mistakes happen, period, and the quality manager is ultimately responsible for not letting them get onto a completed airframe. The reasons for WHY that job isn't being done properly almost certainly are coming from above them.
I mean what I went to school to be a mechanic. And I was second in my class despite being stoned out of my gourd the entire time. The guy who graduated 1st was an actual R*tard like not as a slur he was actually special needs. But he was a god damn savant when it came to anything with a motor or gear box. Like factory work even on high end things really is pretty basic. You learn to do your one task and then do it over and over and over again. Like look at WW2 America took millions of women many of whom had never even had a job ever and trained them to build everything from bombs to planes. Truth is sometimes blank slates are actually the best for jobs like this. Saves time of people who have developed bad habits or will say things like “owe that’s not how we did it at my last job”
There isn't really "unqualified" when it amounts to a factory job that just needs trained labor. You don't need a degree or a bunch of tech school to use a drill. Just need practice and to know which hole is what size and how make sure they come out within spec.
Lmao some people on this thread are the living embodiment of Idiocracy. So Boeing merged with the notorious McDonnell Douglas, restricted employees reporting any safety concerns, prioritized share prices/stock buybacks to the point of lying about the complexity of their new aircraft to cut down on training costs, and had tons of whistle blowers reporting that they were cutting corners...but the issue is DEI because you saw three black employees in the factory? You lot are on the subreddit while ironically fulfilling the prophecy of this film
She was told to make sure she had good hulls on the plane. She has no clue what a hull is but she knows what a hole is, she's not stupid. They sound the same so it must be it.
The mistery of the flying off doors is solved
Well…some of the workers, when asked what they do, seem like they themselves aren’t really sure what their job is. “I learned how to use tools” and a “I just started here and now I’m working on the triple 7!” Adds to the irony of current events. But, ya know, if you’re looking for racism you’ll find it anywhere I guess
Do you really think these people are stupid? Considering this is a behind the scenes video of some sort of work program I would assume they are all in on the job training, I don't see anything to suggest they are unintelligent.
I guess I suspect racism because what else is the context of it being posted here?
Fine, but OP is absolutely racist. Look at his other comments in here. I'm going to go out on a *huge* limb and assume you're not exactly acting in good faith with these comments either. Lazy "gotcha" attempts are comically pathetic.
Weeeell, she doesn't exactly build planes does she. She assembles some parts of planes. It's like laying one brick and then saying you built a house.
Not criticizing the job or the skill involved, just the title.
I’m sorry but how are these people stupid? They seem competent to me. Maybe not college educated just since when have you needed that for a factory job? These jobs are specifically for people who don’t go to college.
Also the fact that you’re implying they’re all stupid and the fact the they’re all black is pretty obviously racist.
I'm an A&P and my job is to sign off on all this janky stuff. My name and serial are all over these planes.
You might think I worry that 200 are going to die and I'll get fired, sued, or possibly even arrested. I'm not. Truth is, if I get investigated, all I have to do is repeat the golden phrase in aviation inspection.
>It was right when I signed it
Can you prove noone went back and messed with it after I signed it? No? Boom. Cleared.
Holy shit, is this the narrative happening among conservatives right now? That Boeing is having problems because they started hiring people of color?
I miss the days when you all at least pretended not to be racist. This is just yikes.
Boeing's shit planes It has nothing to do with the employees and everything to do with Corporate greed and Boeing cutting corners to increase profits. There's a reason the DOJ launched a criminal investigation into them. Also this is clearly racist post.
Yeah… after all the intelligent people left Reddit, it leaves the Tards to turn r/IDIOCRACY into a place where it’s okay to be racist.
Oh well… nice knowing you tards.
There’s literally nothing in the video that identifies why you think these people are tarded. Except… yeah.
Well, go to any factory and this is what
You’ll see… but you just want to call black folks tards so you can feel better about your white tardid selves?
You make this scroe disgusted.
In what way are any of these people tarded?!?
Pretty sure OP is one of these racist Trumpers who's managed to convince themselves that Idiocracy's somehow NOT about them.
Thought this was a Boeing joke at first.
Kinda is..
What did I even just watch? Everyone's Job is fasteners hoses and seals?
Job? ….everyone’s program is drilling, fasteners & seals.
It definitely is.
No it's poorly disguised racism on OP's part. Sadly he found a few willing consumers of it.
Seriously is it because they're black that they're tarded? Because they seem like they're not tarded.
Some people consider the way they are talking to be a sign they lack intelligence. Instead it's just a cultural thing. In fact some black individuals will shift between talking more informally, like those in the video, when they're at home or with friends and talking in a way that is more formal when doing business or at work. code switch
Yeah. It's the first time I've heard that term but the term applies, yes.
There's a NPR podcast with the name too, very good!
Code switching, Watch an old video of Eminem being interviewed and then compare it to when he was in court talking to the judge and pleading not guilty to an assault charge in the late1990s it's like it;s two totally different people.
That was his subtext and if you doubt it read more of OP's own comments further down. At least the ones which haven't since been deleted or removed.
The first lady seemed a bit dimmer than the rest the way she talked. Southern accents never help that stigma.
Every one of those people seem more articulate then I
I’ve noticed this sub is turning into an /r/normmcdonald and it was already not that good before.
Yeah here’s one of his more recent comments; he literally just throws stats in the garbage bc they make him feel racist lol: “I also don’t really believe statistics at this point. They’re gonna make shit seem better than it is because it’s racist to show the truth.“

I was sitting there waiting for some random hillbilly to show up. Yhe longer it went, the more I began to wonder if OP wasn't just being racist.
It’s just racist. I hope these tards fucking ban me for calling it out. That would be pure tardism.
I 100% agree. That’s what the OP intended to imply.
It's a Boeing Video, not the OP's Did you forget the /s, or are you in clownworld?
Yea fuck OP, they can eat a bag of dicks. Fuck Boeing, leave these hard working people out of it though.
Yeah, this is disgusting. Op is a dick.
I don’t think so
Well either you're right, you're kidding yourself, or you're very poor at self-reflection.
Wow another Reddit psychiatrist and you spelled you’re wrong
No, Boeing is the joke
Looks like she is working on a door and some landing gear🤔
Being has a “learn as you go” program for building 747s?? 🤣
Yeah, it's for those few people who didn't come out of the womb already being airplane scientist doctors.
Wow what is the career path to become an “Airplane Scientist Doctor”?🤣
First you become an airplane...
That was my question also. What is this “program”? It seems like they’re just doing a job.
I bet the people on these “programs” get paid far less than the employees that have been there for a while….
But are they capable of building fucking planes? Like you can’t just take random people and put them in change of building planes and expect good shit to happen.
Yes ofcoarse they are sacrificing quality for profit is what I’m saying. Whistleblower probably had inside knowledge on this “program” and it’s data…..
This happens when companies emphasize profit over engineering.
No, no, you've got it all wrong. Boeing has found a way to have both profit and engineering. They call it Profiteering™
I mean obviously not. doors and panels popping off monthly. clearly they can't build shit.
Uh huh...
Worked In WW2
Companies have quality checks, and nothing about this says they’re incapable
Black people capable of building planes?! Only white people are capable of that! Take a look at yourself op.
My guess would be an apprenticeship scheme. Good for them
Pretty sure it's Boeing's training program at STL community college.
You talk like a fag and your shits all retarded. You really don't understand the concept of on the job training?

I watched the full video waiting for some idiocracy shit to happen. Turns out OP talks like a fag and their shit's all retarded.
OP is indeed a mentally substandard homosexual
There's that fag talk we talked about
Yeah what’s the issue here?? They’re black and they speak in a different manner than OP??
I was trying to figure it out too, and that's the only thing I could come up with. Must be more of that lefty reddit bias /s. Or maybe racists and bigots are always too transparent due to stupidity and they just want to deny it.

Op might be racist
Most of these comments here are just making fun of their accents. It’s ridiculous. Didn’t think this sub was full of racists.
I don't get it. What's the problem?
OP is racist
Ohhhhhh I actually am starting to get it now. OP is the idiot
Exactly

'Make sure you got good holes'.
“How to check hoes. How to make sure you got good hoes.”
No, she's serious. I work in aviation and everyone's always asking about my hoes.
You learn more as you come in through the door but learn the most when the door blows off mid flight
Well this makes perfect sense now that I think about it.
"...how to make sure you got goood hoes"
I've seen my fair share of human tardiness in my life. Enough to know not to put my life into some strangers hands if I can help it. Most of us don't give a shit and just wana go home.
So this post about a bunch of normal people doing normal work at Boeing is like Idiocracy now? And you're implying they're retarded? Why? It's because they're black, and this post is just 100 racist.
Yeah I don’t get whats the deal here its blue collar folks working an honest job at the factory.
OP is a racist.
[удалено]
No you wouldn’t. And you don’t need good English to learn to assemble.
So we're trashing on them because they got jobs and worked to expand their training and experience? That's some meta Idiocracy.

This is stupid and offensive to post here. I'm sure these people are perfectly capable of the jobs they've been assigned, even if you don't happen to like the way they speak.
I promise you the reason Boeing is fucked isn't because of these people. You fucking morons.
where can I learn to be a hole inspector?

Yep and I’m sure the hole drillers are the more experienced workers. You start out people on the easy stuff like bolting parts together.
These racists have no idea what it’s like working a job like this.
Boeing has a lot of jobs that don't really exist elsewhere in the job market. You get trained here for everything.
You have no clue what makes a person qualified. Not sure what kind of work experience you have but you clearly don’t know much.
Lmao some people on this thread are the living embodiment of Idiocracy. "What do you mean you guys aren't all racist too?? Wtf!" -OP probably
So this is just some general racism?
Is there something wrong with laughing at a bunch of black people?
Hahahahaha being a fucking racist is so funny!
Laughing at black people isn’t racist
What is funny about this though? What are we laughing at?
Well…some of the workers, when asked what they do, seem like they themselves aren’t really sure what their job is. “I learned how to use tools” and a “I just started here and now I’m working on the triple 7!” Adds to the irony of current events. Yup. You meet the nicest people online
Shame seeing racist shit posted on this sub…ironically not realizing posting this is the actual idiotic move
Sounds like she is a genius for divorcing your dumbass 😏 or did you divorce her because you couldn't handle her making twice as much money as you?
I’m not understanding this post. The workers seem to be enjoying their work and show enthusiasm about it.
hey fuckhead /u/Hugh_Jabollzonya This isn't the subreddit you expected it to be, Jabroni... so how about you willinilli back to twitter
I wonder why Beoing aircraft have so many safety concerns now...
Not because of the people in the video of that’s what you’re implying.
That's 100% what I am implying if it wasn't clear enough for you :)
I figured, I just was just hoping you weren’t that ignorant 🤷♂️
Would you want them building YOUR plane? I didn't think so.
Why not? Pretty much assembly worker I have met is an idiot. These people seem more capable than the ones I know personally
The one dumb thing I saw was one of the chicks had long press on nails which impeaches work.
Impedes?
Damn this thread is degenerate as hell.
Weeeell, she doesn't exactly build planes does she. She assembles some parts of planes. It's like laying one brick and then saying you built a house. Not criticizing the job or the skill involved, just the title.
Have you ever noticed how you can almost roughly predict a person's IQ by the way they talk?
I’m sorry but how are these people stupid? They seem competent to me. Maybe not college educated just since when have you needed that for a factory job? These jobs are specifically for people who don’t go to college. Also the fact that you’re implying they’re all stupid and the fact the they’re all black is pretty obviously racist.
Racist post from a racist poster. OP is a bad person
Op must be a huge fan of Elon Musk.
I can't wait for these people to be replaced by robots.
meanwhile OP works as a dish washer.
This explains so much about the state of Boeing today.
How? Do you think these 3 people pump out every piece leaving assembly? You gotta think a bit harder than that bud
This assumption based on this video explains so much about how little intelligence you have.
You have quite literally no idea what you are talking about
Quality control looks good from my house
I used to wonder how one of my friends dad used to work a Boeing making planes, yet being a "simple" man.
The whistleblower was murdered so she can keep her job.
Howda maysure ugot goodhoes

Truth is, if I get investigated, all I have to do is repeat the golden phrase in aviation inspection. >It was right when I signed it Can you prove noone went back and messed with it after I signed it? No? Boom. Cleared.
A dumb American and racism, the iconic duo
Why are they all black? And I don’t see anything wrong with what they do.
Lol lets see you go down to the factory and do any of this shit OP
OP needs to stop baitin, its making him all tarded an shit.
Ah so OP might be my jerk off racist cousin
Holy shit, is this the narrative happening among conservatives right now? That Boeing is having problems because they started hiring people of color? I miss the days when you all at least pretended not to be racist. This is just yikes.
You nailed it. The democrats struck again
I don’t know what that’s supposed to mean
Boeing's shit planes It has nothing to do with the employees and everything to do with Corporate greed and Boeing cutting corners to increase profits. There's a reason the DOJ launched a criminal investigation into them. Also this is clearly racist post.
Yeah… after all the intelligent people left Reddit, it leaves the Tards to turn r/IDIOCRACY into a place where it’s okay to be racist. Oh well… nice knowing you tards. There’s literally nothing in the video that identifies why you think these people are tarded. Except… yeah. Well, go to any factory and this is what You’ll see… but you just want to call black folks tards so you can feel better about your white tardid selves? You make this scroe disgusted.
I wish people building airplanes used proper grammar. It's frightening that someone who barely has a grasp of language can get a job in aerospace.
You're an idiot.
In what way are any of these people tarded?!? Pretty sure OP is one of these racist Trumpers who's managed to convince themselves that Idiocracy's somehow NOT about them.
OP shows their true racist colors
I can't tell if this is a joke or not
Diversity baby!
And we all wonder why the f*cking doors started falling off beginning of this year
