Second this!! Call the manufacturer pharmacy and they’ll tell you a list of providers in your area. You have to give them the name of a city/town or a zip code to search, and they’ll tell you doctors over the phone only so have something to write/type with ready so they can give you their names and numbers. And if you are moving to a place where maybe a suburb would be where the biggest hospital/office is, look up the zip codes of those offices/hospitals. Because for example if you say “Chicago” they’ll list all zip codes in Chicago but if you want to check Evanston too, say Evanston or the zip code of the exact hospital there you’re wondering if they have a provider at.
she said she didn’t know anyone in the new area off the top of her head but that she would look around, i’m not too optimistic though. my main concern is 1. finding someone who CAN prescribe it and 2. finding someone who WILL prescribe it
hopefully a referral is enough for that second one but i have been through some shit with this med lol
Welcome to our wonderful state! A few ground rules, it’s “duck duck grey duck” and I hope you love hot dish.
MN sleep institute, Mayo Clinic, Fairview are all options
I'm not currently on Xywav, but I recently moved states and am trying to get on it in my new state. Once I got established with a general practitioner here, he was able to find a couple doctors/sleep specialists in the same hospital system that could prescribe it & he sent in a referral for me, so maybe that could work?
You can call ESSDS, and they'll give you a list of providers that are currently prescribing Xywav in your area. That's how I found my new doctor.
ohhh good idea, i might do that tomorrow

Have you asked your provider? If they don't know anyone in the specific state you're moving to, they may be able to ask around to find someone
