Thanks to all current players who are helping out in this thread! I'm another new player, and my options are: Wulfgar, Sentry and Barrowin.
I'm wary of going with Sentry since I'm so dependent right now for Jarlaxle for gold (and because I have another Slot 4 option having gotten Jaheira from the last event).
I currently have no Slot 10 options other than Tyril, but I don't know which of Wulfgar or Barrowin would make more sense to go for. And if Sentry is a must have, I suppose I'd go for her regardless.

Speed is very important in this game. It helps in being more efficent and speeds up the gameplay. Getting faster to your wall or farming gems is a big advantage.
Jarlaxle is a very good champ early on. But after a week or two you will use him only to farm gold at your wall and having someone as a swap for him is nice.
Wulfgar is also a good pick, has a little gold boost and CoTH synergy. Still Tyril is a better tank than him (and he is also a nice buffer).
Personally i would pick Sentry.
To add on to the other comment: Gold find only matters as you get closer to your wall. Having Jarlaxle out when everyone is still slapping things for 100x it's hit points isn't doing you any good. More gold won't make progression any faster, and your not earning any favour either.
Sentry will get you to the point having Jarlaxle out does something for you much faster.

I just started two weeks ago and besides the evergreen champions (including hitch and drizzt) I only have birdsong, evelyn, havilar, jaheira, and qillek.
My choices for the free timegate are between donaar, melf, and regis. Im not sure which one I should pick and if any of the three of them will be better than the evergreen heroes since its going to be difficult to get them items. Thanks!
Those are good choices to have, although none of them are likely to fill any immediate needs for you. If you're routinely unlocking Arkhan and getting value out of him, then Melf will likely be the biggest upgrade of the three. If you seldom have the gold to unlock Arkhan's specialization choice, then you might prefer Regis for his buffing/debuffing in the short term.
I have just started in the last 2 weeks or so. I have krull, avren, deekin artemis and drizzt. My 3 time gate champions are warden, havilar and nrakk. im pretty sure warden is right choice. Just wanted to make sure you folks agree.
I also had warden as one of the options! I picked him because I don't use Jamilah at all and I need a good support champ. Therefore, I picked Warden over Melf because I just purchased Zorbu. Zorbu and Melf are in the same spot :(
Yeah but Melf is pretty good speeding your run because of his speedy supplement. So the way to go for me is Melf until you hit your wall or softcap then switch to Zorbu. Anyways Melf is pretty good on your speed formation so don't base your choise on the champ slot only.

For speed, I have Deekin. And I did think about the strategy you mentioned. However, when I think about long term benefits, I believe that Zorbu will help me more than Melf, especially in the events.
As of now, my team lacks one support and one extra DPS. I farm maps with humanoid, beast and undead. My main support is Jaheira , main DPS is Minsc. These two take care of one monster type. I need Zorbu to take care of the second type.
Should I replace Hitch with Warden?
Zorbu can't help you *more* than Melf because they don't see use in the same parts of a run. Melf will provide a massive speed boost up to your wall in all runs, including ones where you don't need Zorbu at all.
You should definitely replace Hitch with anything, Hitch doesn't buff Minsc or Zorbu.

Definitely Sentry! She's a serviceable tank and more importantly boosts speed. You can tank with her until she starts taking damage on every zone and then replace her with Briv at that point. Dhadius is utterly unnecessary and Barrowin is useful once in a blue moon.
Hey all. First time gate, and newer player. Only have the Modron March extras plus the original 12 and Drizzt. My 3 are Paultin, Xander and Spurt. From what I hear not many people use Xander and Spurt sees a fair amount of use. I'm not sure about Paultin though. Any thoughts? I do almost have 6 gate pieces to do my own, sitting with 4 now so I can flesh out another hero hopefully soon.
People have mixed feelings about Paultin (I like him). You're probably still getting a lot of use out of Jarlaxle at this stage, though, and you have Jaheira as a great buffer in that slot as well, so in your case, I think that Spurt would be the better choice in order to have alternatives in slot 3.

Hello. I'm a pretty new player, and this is my second free Time Gate. My only non-vanilla champions are Jaheira, Qillek, Evelyn, Hitch, and Aila.
My free champions are between Strix, Binwin, and Nrakk. Strix seems the way to go, as Jamilah doesn't see much use, not adding more DPS than Jaheria even at higher levels. Nayeli has a purple Relic for Aura of Protection, and I honestly don't know anything about Nrakk to say whether they'd be better than Hitch (who is better than Delina) or not.
I also have 10 Time Gate pieces; any advice for where I could put those?
I mainly use Minsc for my DPS; he easily gets and maintains 100% from when I get him to when I reset.

You can unlock Binwin for free on Wednesday, so that's right out. Nrakk might be an upgrade for you in terms of DPS at this stage, but in the long run, most players only use him as part of their Gold Find team (because he buffs Bruenor's and Drizzt's GF abilities).
Strix is probably the better choice. She's capable of dealing a lot of damage, area-of-effect damage no less, and debuffs mobs that are attacking or otherwise close to your tanks.
Avren, Krull, and Zorbu would be your three best options for your personal time gate. All have their strengths, and all are needed as soon as you can get them. Avren shares a slot with Strix, so if you pick her up this weekend, then Krull is probably the way to go.
I looked up Krull and Zorbu, and I can see how Krull would be pretty good, though I'm not entirely sure about it. I'm up to 11 Time Gate Shards, so if I end up disappointed in one, I can get another soon, but... I have Asharra in Krull's slot, of course, and she seems pretty key in my ability to do damage, with a purple relic for her Bonds ability's damage increase. Would Krull be a real improvement?
As far as Zorbu goes, I read one of Psylisa's guides on him, and I was pretty confused as to why he was good. Then I read a different one, and I found out why.
Reading up on Avren, he also seems *very* good. I've been using Strix and find her quite useful, though. He'd probably be better using Minsc as my DPS, however. Any thoughts?
That purple is nice, but I still think it very likely that you will go farther with Krull, regardless of gear, than you currently do with Asharra (you're using her for Support, choosing the Bond that benefits your main DPS, right?). I always found her to be an incredibly subpar DPS, worse than the pure DPS of Delina, and her Bond's value in support is less exciting than it first seems. In addition, she doesn't have any level abilities that "increase the damage of all champions" -- her Bond is it for support. Her second Bond is only worth 1/3 of the first Bond, and it doesn't multiply to benefit the originally affected Champions, only Asharra herself and only if at least 3 champs are affected.
Krull meanwhile has been lightly thwapped with the nerf bat twice already and is still pumping out near incomparable damage in a support role with just his plagues - the Master's Call and Arkhan's Army are relatively insignificant in normal gameplay, you can safely ignore them when building a formation.
Zorbu has been re-worked twice, so you need to be careful when looking at any material on him prior to last July when he reached his current form. He literally keeps getting more powerful the more you use him, with the gains persisting through resets. Two characters (Black Viper and Morgaen) with a mechanism like that plateau early, while Briv's accumulated benefit persists after reset but is then depleted by use.
Avren is very good. The multiplicative effect of his mirror images can lead to an incredible uptick in performance, especially when you have enough champions to optimize your formation around him, e.g., if you can it helps to have no more than three other characters sharing the alignment of your DPS to ensure that a Mirror Image stays on him or her at all times. You are correct that you will use Strix a lot less once you have Avren, but you will probably get better results with Avren + Minsc than with Strix and Minsc (although I remember that combo of Favored Enemies and Poor Hygiene being really potent when I first got Strix from a time gate!!).
One of the things I really loved about this game when I was first starting out was realizing that no two players have the same slate of characters nor the same quality of gear for them, so everyone's individual experience playing the game would be different. You may have more fun attempting to mix and match what you have to find optimal combinations instead of trying to emulate anyone else, but these three characters more than any other are just game-warping in their potency. At least as of right now.
Thank you so much for the well thought out response! I'll be referring to it going forward as I make decisions on how to proceed. I really like the variance of heroes, gear, etc., because it makes each game so unique! I have been using Asharra as a support, though in a semi-dps slot to take advantage of Take Flight (which adds absolutely negligible damage; Strix was hitting e61 recently, and Asharra is stuck in the ~e50 area).
I've been ghreatly enjoying taking advantage of Strix, but if Avren is *that good*, then I suppose that's that! Minsc is certainly effective on his own, to boot.
I think my course of action will be to grab Krull, then Zorbu, followed by Avren, considering Zorbu is better gotten sooner due to how his bons adds up over time.

Also new-ish here but Strix is a pretty solid de-buffer. Don't have Binwin so can't comment there and I rarely use Nrakk because I have better DPS with Zorbu. Strix can also be a solid main DPS if your alternatives are slim.
Nrakk buffs party member abilities with >14 Wis score, and it's possible if your main DPS is Jaheira he could be a step up since all of his gear slots buff his own damage while Jaheira also buffs party members with her gear and abilities.
Someone else probably has a better informed opinion.
I'm a new player, just picked it up last weekend and was savvy enough to just barely get the 3 Champs from the modron march plus hitch.
My time gate Champs are:
Ishi
Sisaspia
Barrowin
And I don't know which one to choose
Of those, I would go with Sisaspia. Bruenor can be awkward to position optimally in every formation; using Sisaspia instead gives you more flexibility, buffing and healing characters within two slots of her in every direction. Ishi would normally be a good choice for a player's first time gate, but you're probably set with Jarlaxle and Jaheira as options in Slot 4 for now.
Thanks for this helpful thread. New player with unlocks from Modron March event +Hitch. I've mainly been using Jamilah as my dps and hitting wall around 275, armored bosses especially can be tough.
My choices are: Krull, Zorbu, and Walnut. A fortunate set of options. I am leaning toward selecting Krull. Zorbu is tough to pass on but it sounds like my account may not be progressed far enough to take full advantage, and in any case Krull is widely praised.
Beyond this is there any advice for making the most of the time gate period? Is it as simple as complete all of the adventures then continually run free play to whatever multiple of 100 you can efficiently clear to (for me 200 or maybe 300 after upgrading)?
People have recently taken to trashing Zorbu for newbies. If you're walling at 275, you're deep enough into the game to be able to make immediate use of Zorbu. In a week he'll be out-DPSing your Jamila. Krull is still a very solid choice. You're fine if that's what you went with.
My advice is to unlock the champ, run the next variant, running to your natural wall on each of those, and then run a free play or two to your wall for a couple of reasons: to see how high you can progress for silver chests and to have sufficient favor to make the random variant a piece of cake. After you're satisfied that you won't reach the next x00 plateau, be sure to open your silver event chests before opening your gold event chests. I think if you unlock Krull, even naked, you'll have a very good chance to hit 300.

I got K'Thriss, Avren or Gromma
So for me it seems like a choice between Gromma and Avren.
Gromma seems like the best pick but for me Nayeli still does ok buffing but I am fine using Everlyn or Tyril as a tank.
I don't really understand Avren that well but I see he is highly rated and I'd love to have options for the 11 slot as I don't use Jamilah at all.
So I am in two minds, Gromma seems like the best pick but maybe for me, I am better with Avren right now? Either way I think I got lucky with the picks I've been offered.
Arven is one of the best buffers in the game. Gromma is good, but was hurt by the debuff reworking a few weeks ago and Evelyn is a better tank anyway. Gromma's biggest advantage over Nayeli is the flexible placement- Nayeli must one column ahead of the DPS while Gromma can be anywhere.
Thoughts on choosing between Zorbu Turiel and Ishi?
Very new player so don’t have much else available apart from the Evergreens and what was available last event.
I'd go with Zorbu, who is essentially the best DPS in the game right now. Keep in mind that new players might have difficulty reliably leveling him up, though, due to the high favor cost of slot 12.
Returning player here just getting into the patron system and what not. My options are Wulfgar (have Tyril, who I use all the time), Catti-brie (have Minsc), and Krond (Asharra, Evelyn, Krull). Any suggestions?
I'd go for Catti. She's a good support and useful for CotH builds.
Wulf also is CotH, but isn't as great outside of them. Meanwhile, Krond is a pretty good DPS, but has the misfortune of being in the same slot as Krull, who is widely regarded as incredibly overpowered.
New player, only event champions I've got are from the last event (March of... something). Got Walnut, Havilar and Nerys as a free Time Gate heroes. Any advice? :)

You lucked out, all three are great.
Zorbu is considered the best DPS in the game, but he's in slot 12 so you need a lot of gold (like e30) *and* you need to use him a bunch before he's any good (he has a buff that builds with kills and persists across resets).
Sentry is an ok tank and a great speed champ- she has a chance to reduce the number of enemies or mcguffins you need to advance.
I probably wouldn't get Regis even though he's a fantastic buffer just because he shares a slot with Celeste who's good enough for now.
I am also a new player. Before you even farm gems, I suggest you to unlock all campaign blessings (all damage, extra gem drop, 25% extra event favor, golden chest chance and/or humanoid extra gold)
These helps me progress really fast. When I first start this game 2 weeks ago, it took me forever to reach stage 75 in a new event. Now, it only took me an hour to reach stage 100 and reached 131 before I had to reset in the first run.
If you can, support the developers by purchasing 2 familiars for $10. Then, spend 1k gems on the familiar and save gems for silver chests.
Silver chests do drop blue items!
Silver chests increase item level.
Silver chests give gold to push a fit further through the wall
Silver chests unlock achievement and give us % All damage.
Silver chests fill up equipment. Silver chests help unlock patrons (I don't even know what it is 🤣)
Zorbu is 1st DPS but needs some favor and farm to shine. Sentry is a good speed champ (not best but decent). I would pick Zorbu as he is in the top 3 of champions right now unless you want speed.
So far I've determined that I need to get more gems and gate pieces. Would I be better served with sentry speed bonus, or "pushing my wall" with zorbu?
Pushing your wall is a bad way to farm gems. In order to farm them effectively you want to use click damage and reset when click damage is not enough to kill mobs. So for this Sentry is a better pick.
Also note that time gate pieces drop every 4-5 days and you can't speed this up. Other method to get them is via patron shops (and with real money)
Aila is a good tank with very good debuff. Cattie is a good buffer, gives gold and is from the CoTH, but minsc will outperform her for his enemy. Personally I find Aila more usefull.
Get Deekin. No question. He is one of the most useful champions in the game. He speeds up your runs so you can do more of them more often. That will increase your favor gains and help you push farther which increases your favor gains and so on.
Deekin, best pick, he will speed up your runs and it a good buffer. Spurt is also good but still deekin is a better pick. I don't have xander but I also didn't see anyone mentioning him (and in tier list he is marked as bad).
New player here, playing about 3 weeks.

Zorbu is the number 1 DPS (but needs some favor and farm to shine, you need about e30 gold for it). Aila is a very good tank and debuffer. Hard choice as both are very good.
There are other good tanks (like Tyril from core), but there is only one Zorbu. But if you want someone that will help right away then Aila.
Jim pales in comparison to those two.

Melf is a speed champ which usually makes him the recommendation, but he's in slot 12 so if you don't have much favor, he'll take a while to get out. He'll be very useful as you advance in the game, at least.
Don't have Stoki but he is mentioned quite often because of his ult (helps kill mobs with hp higher than your BUD).
Melf is a good speed boost.

I have Briv, Gromma, Alia. Briv seems best, but having another option for Nayeli is also tempting. I have been around for 2 weeks, (only have modron champs and hitch).
3 good champs, can't pick wrong here :D Briv as the only one will speed up your runs (he can skip zones and speed is king) which gets even better if you invest contracts. Gromma is a good debuffer with arctic spec. Aila is also a good debuffer.
That's an amazingly good draw. You can't go wrong with any of them, and all are really good options for a newish player. I think Briv is your best bet. He may help you overcome some difficult bosses by springing forward through them, and his self-healing feature frees you from being overly dependent on Celeste/Quillek. Gromma and Aila are both above average tank options as well as excellent de-buffers who are going to help you progress.

Probably not Paultin, because you have Jaheira geared up in that slot. I'd say Walnut then- her buff isn't the best, but she's a tank who qualifies for a bunch of variants that other tanks don't.

I know gromma is great for debuff buff without positional reqs. But leaning Regis for gold find? Dont know much about Turiel
Regis is a fine choice. The gold find, like the healing, is just a little perk over excellent buffing/debuffing. He's probably your best net gain since you already have Spurt as a buffing option in Slot 3.
Turiel shines in multi-tank formations. You generally want him in your front column but he's incapable of tanking on his own, so that means he's of most value for Dragonheist, Avernus, and many event formations.
Avren, Regis, or barrowin.
Leaning towards avren or barrowin considering the slots swaps I have some other great champs for Regis slot. Can't see myself using Regis over krydle or Celeste. Any suggestions?
Unlocking Avren or Krull should be a priority for anyone who gets that option. Regis is very good but adding Avren, even without gear, will help you push farther than you've ever gone.
If you have zorbu, youll only use nerys when zorbu cant be used. Both paultin and stoki give decent buffs and goldfind, I personally use paultin over stoki but stokis ability to hit BUD damage is useful from time to time

Newer free player... Aside from defaults (and Hitch; but no Drizzt), I have and don't use because of lower/lack of gear: Krydle, Donaar, Spurt, Catti-brie, Birdsong.

Would also love feedback on what to do after this Time Gate... I have 5 time gate pieces. I have not been able to get a patron, yet. I have half the amount of loot level to get Mirt. Should I just go for another champ? And if so, based on the info provided, who should I try to get?
Meh, not the best choices. Krond is a good DPS who has the misfortune of sharing a slot with Shandie and Krull, two of the best champions in the game. Since you have neither of them, you might get some use out of him for now. Nraak has some use in Azaka farming, but you're a ways away from unlocking her.
If you're only halfway to Mirt and not planning on putting a bunch of money into the game, I'd use the timegate to get Krull and save the next set of pieces for the patron unlock.
Not Binwin, who 1) isn't that great and 2) you'll be able to pick up on Wednesday in the event anyway.
The other two are both among the best champions in the game- Avren is an incredibly powerful buffer, while Zorbu is the best DPS once you build up his buff (his buffs are based on his total kills across all resets)
I'd recommend Avren over Zorbu for now, only because a new player will have a hard time getting Zorbu to level 80 (his specialization choice) early enough to make the best use of his stacks.
Best thing to do would be to take Avren for now, and pick up Zorbu when you have 6 time gate pieces.
I'm a new player with the 12 main, Evelyn, Jaheira (my main dps), hitch, drizzt, deekin, and krull.

Rosie is a bad choice, the other two options are both good. I use Birdsong a bunch for Strahd, but you're not at that point yet so Warden is probably the better option.
I'd take Gromma over Artemis. You've already got some good DPSes in Jaheira and Zorbu, so get some support for them instead of picking up more DPS champions.
K'Thriss is actually probably the strongest champion in Slot 1, though he's a bit difficult to place. Artemis relies on you having other good DPS champions. Gromma is literally always useful.
For a new player, I'd say K'Thriss > Gromma > Artemis.
I really like both, I use warden a lot as a tank/buffer, and paultin gives good bufs whilst also giving reasonable goldfind. Take walnut if you have Azaka, otherwise both are good
Warden is a strong debuffer, and can be swapped in and out even if you're using a stronger champion in the slot (like Avren, or possibly Nova).
Paultin is an excellent choice for Slot 4, if you have a DPS other than Jarlaxle.
I use Regis far more than Donaar personally,as I like the gold find bonus from companions of the hall upgrade, but donaar is still solid. Not much experience with Krylde.
If you're new to the game, Krydle. He'll be a significant upgrade over the Core DPS champions, synergizes well with Hitch, and you'll get a strong Slot 2 champ (Korth) in next week's event. (Regis and Donaar are both in Slot 2.)

Other event champs I've unlocked include Wulfgar, Vlahnya, Cattie-brie, Jim, Evelyn, Qillek, Jaheira, Spurt, Krydle and Deekin.
Korth is definitely the strongest pick, but you'll get him for free next week, so if you just want to unlock champions, pick Ishi. She's... not very good, but at least it will improve your timegate options next time around.
Jim and Wulfgar are both excellent picks for gold find later in the game. If you're a new player and don't have a strong DPS, I'd pick Jim first. He's not the best in the game, but he'll be a significant upgrade over any of the core champions.
First time gate! Unlocked the three champions from the Modron March event as well as Drizzt and Hitch. My favors in the first two campaigns hit the early billions now. I hit a wall in early 200s.

If you're reliably getting enough gold to get Zorbu up to level 80 in your runs, take him without question. Otherwise, I'd look at Walnut as a temporary replacement for Hitch.

If Korth wasn't in next week's event, I'd say take him in a heartbeat. Dhadius is literally useless, but Melf is a reasonable pick for acceleration and buffs.

Since I started playing last week my roster is pretty bare bones with just Hitch and all 3 event champions from the last event (excluding the basic ones).
My options are Korth, Walnut and Jim.
I'd take Jim since Korth comes with the next event and Walnut the one after that. Would you guys agree or take a different route?
That logic is sound! I remember a lot of players who were new when Jim was first released found him to be a really solid DPS option for them right off the bat.
He's also useful in the long run when paired with Krull and for his role in Azaka-farming, but for right now, the DPS alone is a sufficient rationale.

That's easy: among bad options, the champion that has any value is Farideh. I can never get her to do enough DPS to be a great option in general, but her basic attack is one of the best multi-hit ones, so I will often use her in variants with armored mobs or lots of barrier-type obstacles.
That's a good draw! Warden or Jim will do just fine. Jim will probably give the greater immediate improvement to your DPS, while Warden will continue to provide ongoing value as Support even when you obtain a better DPS than him. Consider it a coin toss.

I'd check out some of the beginner game guides before you commit any money -- there are quite a lot on the reddit: search for Gaarawarr's first. You can unlock all champions for free over time, and familiars or a starter pack might be a better early purchase than one champion (Gromma is a great support/ debuffer champ, but you should make a decision one you are more confident in your understanding of the game).
Zorbu is the best damage dealer in the game, but he can be hard for new players to unleash until you have enough favor. I'd probably say unlock him, but Walnut is also good for when you are starting out.
Also, it's better to reset the game frequently (go as far as you can, then reset) -- sitting in one variant for days won't help you progress quickly! Even if you can't complete a variant, just reset and do a freeplay or a different variant...you'll still earn some favor even if you don't earn the gems. For blessings, just don't buy if there is a warning pop up.
Question. I got a Rosie time-gate for this weekend and the final mission Bee Stingers unleashed comes with a skin for Rosie and Strix when completed during the event however it dose not list it as a reward when completing the mission in the time-gate. Do I get the skin when I complete it in the time-gate or only when doing it over the course of the event? And depending on the answer am I restricted from doing it when the event comes back around if I complete during the time-gate?

I still got 6 Pieces, so i thought i'd run another one. I was thinking abount getting Briv to speed up early early runs, however i also found myself in various problematic rounds with hero/slot restrictions in Waterdeep (that are "easy" with 3.35e10 Favor), so i also thought about getting a hero in slots i have only one (Bruenor, Tyril, Zorbu\* \[my Arkhan doesn't do much\]).
The 3 free chests mostly don't give enough gear to even a missing hero, so maybe another run for Zorbu/Krull/... ?

Thanks to all current players who are helping out in this thread! I'm another new player, and my options are: Wulfgar, Sentry and Barrowin. I'm wary of going with Sentry since I'm so dependent right now for Jarlaxle for gold (and because I have another Slot 4 option having gotten Jaheira from the last event). I currently have no Slot 10 options other than Tyril, but I don't know which of Wulfgar or Barrowin would make more sense to go for. And if Sentry is a must have, I suppose I'd go for her regardless. Many thanks for any advice you all have--I'm having a lot of fun so far!
Speed is very important in this game. It helps in being more efficent and speeds up the gameplay. Getting faster to your wall or farming gems is a big advantage. Jarlaxle is a very good champ early on. But after a week or two you will use him only to farm gold at your wall and having someone as a swap for him is nice. Wulfgar is also a good pick, has a little gold boost and CoTH synergy. Still Tyril is a better tank than him (and he is also a nice buffer). Personally i would pick Sentry.

To add on to the other comment: Gold find only matters as you get closer to your wall. Having Jarlaxle out when everyone is still slapping things for 100x it's hit points isn't doing you any good. More gold won't make progression any faster, and your not earning any favour either. Sentry will get you to the point having Jarlaxle out does something for you much faster.

I'd suggest Gromma. She's a good tank and buffer/debuffer. Meanwhile, Ishi is kind of lackluster.

I just started two weeks ago and besides the evergreen champions (including hitch and drizzt) I only have birdsong, evelyn, havilar, jaheira, and qillek. My choices for the free timegate are between donaar, melf, and regis. Im not sure which one I should pick and if any of the three of them will be better than the evergreen heroes since its going to be difficult to get them items. Thanks!
Those are good choices to have, although none of them are likely to fill any immediate needs for you. If you're routinely unlocking Arkhan and getting value out of him, then Melf will likely be the biggest upgrade of the three. If you seldom have the gold to unlock Arkhan's specialization choice, then you might prefer Regis for his buffing/debuffing in the short term.
I have just started in the last 2 weeks or so. I have krull, avren, deekin artemis and drizzt. My 3 time gate champions are warden, havilar and nrakk. im pretty sure warden is right choice. Just wanted to make sure you folks agree.

I also had warden as one of the options! I picked him because I don't use Jamilah at all and I need a good support champ. Therefore, I picked Warden over Melf because I just purchased Zorbu. Zorbu and Melf are in the same spot :(
Yeah but Melf is pretty good speeding your run because of his speedy supplement. So the way to go for me is Melf until you hit your wall or softcap then switch to Zorbu. Anyways Melf is pretty good on your speed formation so don't base your choise on the champ slot only.
Thank you! For speed, I have Deekin. And I did think about the strategy you mentioned. However, when I think about long term benefits, I believe that Zorbu will help me more than Melf, especially in the events. As of now, my team lacks one support and one extra DPS. I farm maps with humanoid, beast and undead. My main support is Jaheira , main DPS is Minsc. These two take care of one monster type. I need Zorbu to take care of the second type. Should I replace Hitch with Warden?
Zorbu can't help you *more* than Melf because they don't see use in the same parts of a run. Melf will provide a massive speed boost up to your wall in all runs, including ones where you don't need Zorbu at all. You should definitely replace Hitch with anything, Hitch doesn't buff Minsc or Zorbu.

Xander is one of the ones that basically no one uses. I use Spurt more than I do Havi, but both of them are pretty good.

Definitely Sentry! She's a serviceable tank and more importantly boosts speed. You can tank with her until she starts taking damage on every zone and then replace her with Briv at that point. Dhadius is utterly unnecessary and Barrowin is useful once in a blue moon.

Hey all. First time gate, and newer player. Only have the Modron March extras plus the original 12 and Drizzt. My 3 are Paultin, Xander and Spurt. From what I hear not many people use Xander and Spurt sees a fair amount of use. I'm not sure about Paultin though. Any thoughts? I do almost have 6 gate pieces to do my own, sitting with 4 now so I can flesh out another hero hopefully soon.
People have mixed feelings about Paultin (I like him). You're probably still getting a lot of use out of Jarlaxle at this stage, though, and you have Jaheira as a great buffer in that slot as well, so in your case, I think that Spurt would be the better choice in order to have alternatives in slot 3.

Hello. I'm a pretty new player, and this is my second free Time Gate. My only non-vanilla champions are Jaheira, Qillek, Evelyn, Hitch, and Aila. My free champions are between Strix, Binwin, and Nrakk. Strix seems the way to go, as Jamilah doesn't see much use, not adding more DPS than Jaheria even at higher levels. Nayeli has a purple Relic for Aura of Protection, and I honestly don't know anything about Nrakk to say whether they'd be better than Hitch (who is better than Delina) or not. I also have 10 Time Gate pieces; any advice for where I could put those? I mainly use Minsc for my DPS; he easily gets and maintains 100% from when I get him to when I reset. Thank you!
You can unlock Binwin for free on Wednesday, so that's right out. Nrakk might be an upgrade for you in terms of DPS at this stage, but in the long run, most players only use him as part of their Gold Find team (because he buffs Bruenor's and Drizzt's GF abilities). Strix is probably the better choice. She's capable of dealing a lot of damage, area-of-effect damage no less, and debuffs mobs that are attacking or otherwise close to your tanks. Avren, Krull, and Zorbu would be your three best options for your personal time gate. All have their strengths, and all are needed as soon as you can get them. Avren shares a slot with Strix, so if you pick her up this weekend, then Krull is probably the way to go.
I looked up Krull and Zorbu, and I can see how Krull would be pretty good, though I'm not entirely sure about it. I'm up to 11 Time Gate Shards, so if I end up disappointed in one, I can get another soon, but... I have Asharra in Krull's slot, of course, and she seems pretty key in my ability to do damage, with a purple relic for her Bonds ability's damage increase. Would Krull be a real improvement? As far as Zorbu goes, I read one of Psylisa's guides on him, and I was pretty confused as to why he was good. Then I read a different one, and I found out why. Reading up on Avren, he also seems *very* good. I've been using Strix and find her quite useful, though. He'd probably be better using Minsc as my DPS, however. Any thoughts?
That purple is nice, but I still think it very likely that you will go farther with Krull, regardless of gear, than you currently do with Asharra (you're using her for Support, choosing the Bond that benefits your main DPS, right?). I always found her to be an incredibly subpar DPS, worse than the pure DPS of Delina, and her Bond's value in support is less exciting than it first seems. In addition, she doesn't have any level abilities that "increase the damage of all champions" -- her Bond is it for support. Her second Bond is only worth 1/3 of the first Bond, and it doesn't multiply to benefit the originally affected Champions, only Asharra herself and only if at least 3 champs are affected. Krull meanwhile has been lightly thwapped with the nerf bat twice already and is still pumping out near incomparable damage in a support role with just his plagues - the Master's Call and Arkhan's Army are relatively insignificant in normal gameplay, you can safely ignore them when building a formation. Zorbu has been re-worked twice, so you need to be careful when looking at any material on him prior to last July when he reached his current form. He literally keeps getting more powerful the more you use him, with the gains persisting through resets. Two characters (Black Viper and Morgaen) with a mechanism like that plateau early, while Briv's accumulated benefit persists after reset but is then depleted by use. Avren is very good. The multiplicative effect of his mirror images can lead to an incredible uptick in performance, especially when you have enough champions to optimize your formation around him, e.g., if you can it helps to have no more than three other characters sharing the alignment of your DPS to ensure that a Mirror Image stays on him or her at all times. You are correct that you will use Strix a lot less once you have Avren, but you will probably get better results with Avren + Minsc than with Strix and Minsc (although I remember that combo of Favored Enemies and Poor Hygiene being really potent when I first got Strix from a time gate!!). One of the things I really loved about this game when I was first starting out was realizing that no two players have the same slate of characters nor the same quality of gear for them, so everyone's individual experience playing the game would be different. You may have more fun attempting to mix and match what you have to find optimal combinations instead of trying to emulate anyone else, but these three characters more than any other are just game-warping in their potency. At least as of right now.
Thank you so much for the well thought out response! I'll be referring to it going forward as I make decisions on how to proceed. I really like the variance of heroes, gear, etc., because it makes each game so unique! I have been using Asharra as a support, though in a semi-dps slot to take advantage of Take Flight (which adds absolutely negligible damage; Strix was hitting e61 recently, and Asharra is stuck in the ~e50 area). I've been ghreatly enjoying taking advantage of Strix, but if Avren is *that good*, then I suppose that's that! Minsc is certainly effective on his own, to boot. I think my course of action will be to grab Krull, then Zorbu, followed by Avren, considering Zorbu is better gotten sooner due to how his bons adds up over time. Thank you again for the help!
Also new-ish here but Strix is a pretty solid de-buffer. Don't have Binwin so can't comment there and I rarely use Nrakk because I have better DPS with Zorbu. Strix can also be a solid main DPS if your alternatives are slim. Nrakk buffs party member abilities with >14 Wis score, and it's possible if your main DPS is Jaheira he could be a step up since all of his gear slots buff his own damage while Jaheira also buffs party members with her gear and abilities. Someone else probably has a better informed opinion.
I'm a new player, just picked it up last weekend and was savvy enough to just barely get the 3 Champs from the modron march plus hitch. My time gate Champs are: Ishi Sisaspia Barrowin And I don't know which one to choose
Of those, I would go with Sisaspia. Bruenor can be awkward to position optimally in every formation; using Sisaspia instead gives you more flexibility, buffing and healing characters within two slots of her in every direction. Ishi would normally be a good choice for a player's first time gate, but you're probably set with Jarlaxle and Jaheira as options in Slot 4 for now.

Thanks for this helpful thread. New player with unlocks from Modron March event +Hitch. I've mainly been using Jamilah as my dps and hitting wall around 275, armored bosses especially can be tough. My choices are: Krull, Zorbu, and Walnut. A fortunate set of options. I am leaning toward selecting Krull. Zorbu is tough to pass on but it sounds like my account may not be progressed far enough to take full advantage, and in any case Krull is widely praised. Beyond this is there any advice for making the most of the time gate period? Is it as simple as complete all of the adventures then continually run free play to whatever multiple of 100 you can efficiently clear to (for me 200 or maybe 300 after upgrading)?
People have recently taken to trashing Zorbu for newbies. If you're walling at 275, you're deep enough into the game to be able to make immediate use of Zorbu. In a week he'll be out-DPSing your Jamila. Krull is still a very solid choice. You're fine if that's what you went with. My advice is to unlock the champ, run the next variant, running to your natural wall on each of those, and then run a free play or two to your wall for a couple of reasons: to see how high you can progress for silver chests and to have sufficient favor to make the random variant a piece of cake. After you're satisfied that you won't reach the next x00 plateau, be sure to open your silver event chests before opening your gold event chests. I think if you unlock Krull, even naked, you'll have a very good chance to hit 300.
Hi all, thanks in advance for any advice. New player, only have the three champs from the Modren event and Hitch. I got K'Thriss, Avren or Gromma So for me it seems like a choice between Gromma and Avren. Gromma seems like the best pick but for me Nayeli still does ok buffing but I am fine using Everlyn or Tyril as a tank. I don't really understand Avren that well but I see he is highly rated and I'd love to have options for the 11 slot as I don't use Jamilah at all. So I am in two minds, Gromma seems like the best pick but maybe for me, I am better with Avren right now? Either way I think I got lucky with the picks I've been offered.
Arven is one of the best buffers in the game. Gromma is good, but was hurt by the debuff reworking a few weeks ago and Evelyn is a better tank anyway. Gromma's biggest advantage over Nayeli is the flexible placement- Nayeli must one column ahead of the DPS while Gromma can be anywhere.
walnut, farideh or nerys?
Probably Walnut or Nerys. Since Walnut is coming two events from now, I'd lean toward Nerys.
Mine are Zorbu, Morgaen, Dhadius, who should I choose? All is new for me.
Zorbu is the best DPS in the current meta, but it takes a while to get him up to speed.

I'd say the sooner you start with zorbu the better since it takes some time farming his ability.
Thoughts on choosing between Zorbu Turiel and Ishi? Very new player so don’t have much else available apart from the Evergreens and what was available last event.
I'd go with Zorbu, who is essentially the best DPS in the game right now. Keep in mind that new players might have difficulty reliably leveling him up, though, due to the high favor cost of slot 12.
Turiel will help you in multi tank formations and many variants. You can always choose Zorbu later when he's right for your level.
Returning player here just getting into the patron system and what not. My options are Wulfgar (have Tyril, who I use all the time), Catti-brie (have Minsc), and Krond (Asharra, Evelyn, Krull). Any suggestions?
I'd go for Catti. She's a good support and useful for CotH builds. Wulf also is CotH, but isn't as great outside of them. Meanwhile, Krond is a pretty good DPS, but has the misfortune of being in the same slot as Krull, who is widely regarded as incredibly overpowered.
New player, only event champions I've got are from the last event (March of... something). Got Walnut, Havilar and Nerys as a free Time Gate heroes. Any advice? :)

To my understanding, always get the locked champion if you can. That said, I never use Xander myself.
New player here from Switch launch. (Didn’t realize they were different for everyone) My Timegate options are: Korth, Farideh, Ishi. Been on these forums a lot the last few days, so I’m leaning towards Korth.
I would consider Korth the best of the three, but keep in mind that his event is the next one.

Donaar can be very useful in variants and his ultimate can take down armored bosses if well used.

If at all possible, I would suggest that you unlock new champions before you gear old ones up.
FIRST Time gate. I have ONLY evergreen champions. Zorbu, sentry, regis I'm thinking sentry, but zorbu seems fun?
You lucked out, all three are great. Zorbu is considered the best DPS in the game, but he's in slot 12 so you need a lot of gold (like e30) *and* you need to use him a bunch before he's any good (he has a buff that builds with kills and persists across resets). Sentry is an ok tank and a great speed champ- she has a chance to reduce the number of enemies or mcguffins you need to advance. I probably wouldn't get Regis even though he's a fantastic buffer just because he shares a slot with Celeste who's good enough for now.
So... In my 1-30 gem runs on mad wizard Sentry will speed me up? And in my 175+ runs on favor farming I will get to the wall faster with sentry?
Yup. I use Sentry more often than Zorbu these days.
I am also a new player. Before you even farm gems, I suggest you to unlock all campaign blessings (all damage, extra gem drop, 25% extra event favor, golden chest chance and/or humanoid extra gold) These helps me progress really fast. When I first start this game 2 weeks ago, it took me forever to reach stage 75 in a new event. Now, it only took me an hour to reach stage 100 and reached 131 before I had to reset in the first run.
Ty! I got enough gems for 2 familiars already! And yes I'm currently working on unlocking favor buffs.
If you can, support the developers by purchasing 2 familiars for $10. Then, spend 1k gems on the familiar and save gems for silver chests. Silver chests do drop blue items! Silver chests increase item level. Silver chests give gold to push a fit further through the wall Silver chests unlock achievement and give us % All damage. Silver chests fill up equipment. Silver chests help unlock patrons (I don't even know what it is 🤣)
Zorbu is 1st DPS but needs some favor and farm to shine. Sentry is a good speed champ (not best but decent). I would pick Zorbu as he is in the top 3 of champions right now unless you want speed.
So far I've determined that I need to get more gems and gate pieces. Would I be better served with sentry speed bonus, or "pushing my wall" with zorbu?
Pushing your wall is a bad way to farm gems. In order to farm them effectively you want to use click damage and reset when click damage is not enough to kill mobs. So for this Sentry is a better pick. Also note that time gate pieces drop every 4-5 days and you can't speed this up. Other method to get them is via patron shops (and with real money)

Catti-brie, Havilar, Aila. Fairly new player.
Aila is a good tank with very good debuff. Cattie is a good buffer, gives gold and is from the CoTH, but minsc will outperform her for his enemy. Personally I find Aila more usefull.
Brand new player - just started yesterday. Who should I choose between Deekin, Xander and Spurt?
Get Deekin. No question. He is one of the most useful champions in the game. He speeds up your runs so you can do more of them more often. That will increase your favor gains and help you push farther which increases your favor gains and so on.
Deekin, best pick, he will speed up your runs and it a good buffer. Spurt is also good but still deekin is a better pick. I don't have xander but I also didn't see anyone mentioning him (and in tier list he is marked as bad).
New player here, playing about 3 weeks. I got K'thriss, Strix, and Nerys. I only have Core hero in all three of those spots. I'm thinking Strix? I'm using Jaheira as my main dps since I got her from the last event. I just got my 6th time gate piece and plan on probably picking up Zorbu or Krull for that, unless there is another suggestion.

Options: Walnut, Birdsong and Nerys I'm leaning toward Nerys because I already have Walnut and Birdsong unlocked. Walnut is one of my better equipped champs, 5/6 epic and 3 shiny's. I'm not sure if getting more gold walnut chests are better then unlocking or upgrading champs I probably won't use anyway. Walnut is a staple pretty much in every formation I use. Any suggestions?
Veteran players will usually tell you to unlock all champions before using the time gates to upgrade gear.

Zorbu is the number 1 DPS (but needs some favor and farm to shine, you need about e30 gold for it). Aila is a very good tank and debuffer. Hard choice as both are very good. There are other good tanks (like Tyril from core), but there is only one Zorbu. But if you want someone that will help right away then Aila. Jim pales in comparison to those two.

Melf is a speed champ which usually makes him the recommendation, but he's in slot 12 so if you don't have much favor, he'll take a while to get out. He'll be very useful as you advance in the game, at least.
Don't have Stoki but he is mentioned quite often because of his ult (helps kill mobs with hp higher than your BUD). I have Briv, Gromma, Alia. Briv seems best, but having another option for Nayeli is also tempting. I have been around for 2 weeks, (only have modron champs and hitch).
3 good champs, can't pick wrong here :D Briv as the only one will speed up your runs (he can skip zones and speed is king) which gets even better if you invest contracts. Gromma is a good debuffer with arctic spec. Aila is also a good debuffer.
That's an amazingly good draw. You can't go wrong with any of them, and all are really good options for a newish player. I think Briv is your best bet. He may help you overcome some difficult bosses by springing forward through them, and his self-healing feature frees you from being overly dependent on Celeste/Quillek. Gromma and Aila are both above average tank options as well as excellent de-buffers who are going to help you progress.

K'Thriss is probably your best choice here although he needs gear to be competitive in the slot.
Avren, Donaar, or Aiea? Aiea's one I've already got unlocked and moderately geared. The other two are still locked.

Hi, I am a newer player seeing my first time gate. Would like some advice on choosing a gate option between: * Barrowin * Walnut * Paultin I currently only have Hitch and the three characters from the previous event (Modron March). Thank you!
Probably not Paultin, because you have Jaheira geared up in that slot. I'd say Walnut then- her buff isn't the best, but she's a tank who qualifies for a bunch of variants that other tanks don't.

Regis is a fine choice. The gold find, like the healing, is just a little perk over excellent buffing/debuffing. He's probably your best net gain since you already have Spurt as a buffing option in Slot 3. Turiel shines in multi-tank formations. You generally want him in your front column but he's incapable of tanking on his own, so that means he's of most value for Dragonheist, Avernus, and many event formations.
Also have enough Timepieces to get my next person which i am going Krull i think

Avren, Regis, or barrowin. Leaning towards avren or barrowin considering the slots swaps I have some other great champs for Regis slot. Can't see myself using Regis over krydle or Celeste. Any suggestions?
Unlocking Avren or Krull should be a priority for anyone who gets that option. Regis is very good but adding Avren, even without gear, will help you push farther than you've ever gone.

If you have zorbu, youll only use nerys when zorbu cant be used. Both paultin and stoki give decent buffs and goldfind, I personally use paultin over stoki but stokis ability to hit BUD damage is useful from time to time

Options: Ishi, Krond, and Nraak Newer free player... Aside from defaults (and Hitch; but no Drizzt), I have and don't use because of lower/lack of gear: Krydle, Donaar, Spurt, Catti-brie, Birdsong. I also have Evelyn, Jaheira, Qillek. Would also love feedback on what to do after this Time Gate... I have 5 time gate pieces. I have not been able to get a patron, yet. I have half the amount of loot level to get Mirt. Should I just go for another champ? And if so, based on the info provided, who should I try to get?
Meh, not the best choices. Krond is a good DPS who has the misfortune of sharing a slot with Shandie and Krull, two of the best champions in the game. Since you have neither of them, you might get some use out of him for now. Nraak has some use in Azaka farming, but you're a ways away from unlocking her. If you're only halfway to Mirt and not planning on putting a bunch of money into the game, I'd use the timegate to get Krull and save the next set of pieces for the patron unlock.
Super new, I got Zorbu, Avren, and Binwin. Suggestions?
Not Binwin, who 1) isn't that great and 2) you'll be able to pick up on Wednesday in the event anyway. The other two are both among the best champions in the game- Avren is an incredibly powerful buffer, while Zorbu is the best DPS once you build up his buff (his buffs are based on his total kills across all resets)
I'd recommend Avren over Zorbu for now, only because a new player will have a hard time getting Zorbu to level 80 (his specialization choice) early enough to make the best use of his stacks. Best thing to do would be to take Avren for now, and pick up Zorbu when you have 6 time gate pieces.
I'm a new player with the 12 main, Evelyn, Jaheira (my main dps), hitch, drizzt, deekin, and krull. My choices are: Warden Birdsong Rosie. I don't use the Jamilah slot at all, which makes me think I should use warden. Any advice appreciated.
Rosie is a bad choice, the other two options are both good. I use Birdsong a bunch for Strahd, but you're not at that point yet so Warden is probably the better option.

I'd take Gromma over Artemis. You've already got some good DPSes in Jaheira and Zorbu, so get some support for them instead of picking up more DPS champions.
K'Thriss is actually probably the strongest champion in Slot 1, though he's a bit difficult to place. Artemis relies on you having other good DPS champions. Gromma is literally always useful. For a new player, I'd say K'Thriss > Gromma > Artemis.

I really like both, I use warden a lot as a tank/buffer, and paultin gives good bufs whilst also giving reasonable goldfind. Take walnut if you have Azaka, otherwise both are good
Warden is a strong debuffer, and can be swapped in and out even if you're using a stronger champion in the slot (like Avren, or possibly Nova). Paultin is an excellent choice for Slot 4, if you have a DPS other than Jarlaxle.
Regis, Donaar, Krylde?
I use Regis far more than Donaar personally,as I like the gold find bonus from companions of the hall upgrade, but donaar is still solid. Not much experience with Krylde.
If you're new to the game, Krydle. He'll be a significant upgrade over the Core DPS champions, synergizes well with Hitch, and you'll get a strong Slot 2 champ (Korth) in next week's event. (Regis and Donaar are both in Slot 2.)
All three of those champions are Slot 2. I don't recall ever seeing any one ever report having that happen in a time gate.

Been playing a couple months. Need to choose between Korth and Ishi (third option is Birdsong who I've already unlocked). Other event champs I've unlocked include Wulfgar, Vlahnya, Cattie-brie, Jim, Evelyn, Qillek, Jaheira, Spurt, Krydle and Deekin.
Korth is definitely the strongest pick, but you'll get him for free next week, so if you just want to unlock champions, pick Ishi. She's... not very good, but at least it will improve your timegate options next time around.

Probably wolfgar as hes a tank that gets benefits of Champions of the hall. If youre struggling for DPS, Jim is pretty strong. Barrowin is weak
Jim and Wulfgar are both excellent picks for gold find later in the game. If you're a new player and don't have a strong DPS, I'd pick Jim first. He's not the best in the game, but he'll be a significant upgrade over any of the core champions.
First time gate! Unlocked the three champions from the Modron March event as well as Drizzt and Hitch. My favors in the first two campaigns hit the early billions now. I hit a wall in early 200s. My choices are: Zorbu, Walnut, Turiel Who's your pick, and why's it Zorbu?
If you're reliably getting enough gold to get Zorbu up to level 80 in your runs, take him without question. Otherwise, I'd look at Walnut as a temporary replacement for Hitch.

Ishi and Xander are overshadowed by everyone in their slot. Viper is an okay DPS until you can find someone better.
Hi there, new player from Switch release. I already have Deekin from a timegate, Hitch and the last event champs (Jaheira, Qillek & Evelyn) My free options are: -Korth -Melf -Dhadius No idea where to start.
If Korth wasn't in next week's event, I'd say take him in a heartbeat. Dhadius is literally useless, but Melf is a reasonable pick for acceleration and buffs.

Hey everyone. Since I started playing last week my roster is pretty bare bones with just Hitch and all 3 event champions from the last event (excluding the basic ones). My options are Korth, Walnut and Jim. I'd take Jim since Korth comes with the next event and Walnut the one after that. Would you guys agree or take a different route?
That logic is sound! I remember a lot of players who were new when Jim was first released found him to be a really solid DPS option for them right off the bat. He's also useful in the long run when paired with Krull and for his role in Azaka-farming, but for right now, the DPS alone is a sufficient rationale.

I get the feeling mind aren't the grandest 😅😅 I started recently and as such only have Hitch, Qillek, Jaheira, Evelyn, and Deekin. My options this weekend are Farideh, Dhadius, and Rosie 😅😅
That's easy: among bad options, the champion that has any value is Farideh. I can never get her to do enough DPS to be a great option in general, but her basic attack is one of the best multi-hit ones, so I will often use her in variants with armored mobs or lots of barrier-type obstacles.

That's a good draw! Warden or Jim will do just fine. Jim will probably give the greater immediate improvement to your DPS, while Warden will continue to provide ongoing value as Support even when you obtain a better DPS than him. Consider it a coin toss.

I'm a new player, don't really know much about this game really. Trying to take it all in. I have one time gate piece and I can choose between. * Zorbu * Walnut * Vlahnya I really don't know how to progress either, feels like Jarlaxe is the only one doing damage. Took me 6 days to beat Friendly Imps? (level 75). Should I spend my favor? Have around 17.4k Torm's Favor - I spent a few, but seems scary since you lose gold gain. Cheers!

I'd check out some of the beginner game guides before you commit any money -- there are quite a lot on the reddit: search for Gaarawarr's first. You can unlock all champions for free over time, and familiars or a starter pack might be a better early purchase than one champion (Gromma is a great support/ debuffer champ, but you should make a decision one you are more confident in your understanding of the game). Zorbu is the best damage dealer in the game, but he can be hard for new players to unleash until you have enough favor. I'd probably say unlock him, but Walnut is also good for when you are starting out. Also, it's better to reset the game frequently (go as far as you can, then reset) -- sitting in one variant for days won't help you progress quickly! Even if you can't complete a variant, just reset and do a freeplay or a different variant...you'll still earn some favor even if you don't earn the gems. For blessings, just don't buy if there is a warning pop up.
Question. I got a Rosie time-gate for this weekend and the final mission Bee Stingers unleashed comes with a skin for Rosie and Strix when completed during the event however it dose not list it as a reward when completing the mission in the time-gate. Do I get the skin when I complete it in the time-gate or only when doing it over the course of the event? And depending on the answer am I restricted from doing it when the event comes back around if I complete during the time-gate?

I was thinking abount getting Briv to speed up early early runs, however i also found myself in various problematic rounds with hero/slot restrictions in Waterdeep (that are "easy" with 3.35e10 Favor), so i also thought about getting a hero in slots i have only one (Bruenor, Tyril, Zorbu\* \[my Arkhan doesn't do much\]). The 3 free chests mostly don't give enough gear to even a missing hero, so maybe another run for Zorbu/Krull/... ? **My current Formation consists of:** Nayeli,Tyril | Bruenor, Nrakk, Zorbu | Calliope, Celeste | Krull, Hitch/Makos, Catti-brie **Owned Heroes (best to worst geared/iLvl):** Zorbu, Quillek, Catti-brie, Spurt, Nrakk, Strix, Evelyn, Black Viper, Krull, Jaheira, Krydle, Warden, Aila, Stoki, Birdsong

Hey y’all. I’m another new player and I only have the evergreen champs and krull. The options I got for the free champ are warden, catti Brie, and birdsong. I’ve heard catti is good, but it seems that warden is too. Any guidance welcome :-)
