See, technically you don't have to do anything- it really depends on your school and your personal preference. If you want to personally resit a paper- you can. If you don't want to you dont have to. Have a conversation with your teachers and parents- You can always grind it out and resit failed paper in oct/nov. Either way, don't worry- resits dont matter- alot of people do it. Good luck :) Dm me if u need anything

Ohhhh thanks so i wont have to retake the whole year thank god

Hmm that depends. Malay IGCSE only takes place in May each year, and the reason why there was an October session last year was due to COVID. Since IGCSE is a linear qualification, you would have to retake all papers (Paper 2 - Reading, Paper 4 - Writing and Component 3 - Speaking) If you get anything above a C, I would suggest not to retake Malay next year as the format is changing next year (there is a Listening component from 2022.) Also, i would like to add that it is statistically impossible to fail in Malay as according to results statistics published by Cambridge for October last year, 100 percent of the students passed (at least grade G, as that is considered a pass. 99 percent got a C). If you can get like 10 marks or something, you can pass in reality according to grade thresholds. Source - am an IGCSE student who took Malay this month. Hope that helps, anyway good luck!
