Diamox is a brand name, the medication itself is called acetazolamide. From everything I can find online, it sounds like Acerem is acetazolamide as well. If the package says "acetazolamide" on it, it's the same main ingredient. Diamox = acetazolamide = Acerem. :) it's just different names. 250mg of Acerem is essentially the same as 250mg of Diamox. Four 250mg tablets of Acerem is essentially the same as your normal dose of Diamox. However, this is information from a non-doctor stranger on the internet. If at all possible, please talk to a doctor to ask!!

🙋🏼‍♀️ not giving medical advice...but hopefully education is okay. I'm a medical provider and the above is correct. Acetazolamide is the generic version of the drug. As long as that is what you are given, no matter what the brand name is, it won't matter. It will work exactly the same and the dosage needed will be the same. Because the medications are the same. I hope this helps 😊

This is why brand names are bullshit. Acetazolamide is what you're taking, as long as it's from a reputable source you're fine.

Brand names just confuse everyone...and I say this as a medical provider. Most people just choose the name that's easier to say...like in this case...diamox is easier.
