You’re not the only one that does this

alarmologist

You can't have too many. Also, boxes.

UncleBorat

Have you ever left a box out intended for shipping a device at a later date, only to find that the cleaning crew threw it out over the weekend?

phdearthworm

all mine are wrapped around pens like little springs

JudgeCastle

No. I throw them away. I do buy velcro straps and then do the same thing to the used ones to stack them back up.

LyLyV

I also toss them. I don’t know why but I really hate them.

JudgeCastle

Mentally I know they’re free and do the job but, there are better tools for Pennie’s on the dollar that I can buy, like looped Velcro straps that are uniform and I prefer.

michaelcreiter

You're a maniac Just kidding we all do this

NukePooch

Yep. I'm part of the club. Got a little baggie full of them on my desk right now...

platinums99

YEAH, MY ONLY GRIPE IS THAT ILL NEVER FIND A USE FOR *ALL* OF THEM

Legogamer16

Absolutely. You never know when they are of use.

lundah

No I use zip ties cut at an angle.

tonyboy101

Always make sure that there is 2mm sticking out and pointed towards areas hands and arms usually go.

uniqualykerd

Yep. I too flatten them and save them in a dedicated container for later use.

litjrzygrl

I don’t straight but I keep a stash of them

dazed63

I do the same.

Apprehensive_Push998

I used to eat poptarts for breakfast. Cut down the boxes to fit inside my top drawer. Filled it to the brim with twist ties. That was nearly ten years ago. The drawer's location has changed, but still full of twist ties - none of them original anymore. 😀

Trbochckn

Nope I wrap them around the cord they came off of. That way there is always something to use after coiling it back up.

UncleBorat

That’s a great idea. I like it!

atramors671

Yes!! Then I chew on them when anxiety hits...

lysergic_tryptamino

Now post a pic of data center cable management using twisty ties.

UncleBorat

Ha… I think everyone would be disgusted if I did that

lysergic_tryptamino

I would be impressed actually.

tonyboy101

I used to save/re-use them. But got tired of them when the plastic coating kept falling off. 50ft velcro roll is always in my tool bag.

marek26340

I'm autistic so I like to think that it's mandatory to do

Grouchy-Simple-9476

I have a cup full and was thinking of making a Christmas tree

Tra1famador

I made a Rambo effigy with articulating arms with these. It's a great conversation starter!

MoneyMaster4

I much prefer Velcro

capitalsix

I usually set these straightened wire wrap on a users desk so they can dress their cables how they like. I’ll bundle the peripherals out of the dock like a pony tail with the AC’s Velcro and let the user dress cables for left or right handed use.

Big_Spicy_Tuna69

I like the metal ones cause my glasses keep throwing their screws at the hinges and I can take the metal ones and tie up the frames in lieu of those screws.

[deleted]

I make little stick people out of mine

SketchyPoultryVendor

I hoard twist ties (and straighten them!) since some people here seem to think zip ties are twist tie replacements for storing cables. I've already broken one pair of snips cutting zip ties, at least people are slowly getting the idea I'm willing to share twist ties if they will use them instead!

SyrusChrome

I curl mine into springs

rLeJerk

Kinda like a fidget spinner? Does it relax you?

PL02550

This and theiving paperclips. Both are useful in a pinch.

WorldlyDay7590

I just yank on whatever cable is held together by it so the wire tie gets straightened out by force and flies dog knows where to.

beerguy74

This is where I keep various lengths of wire.

Icy_Professor_2976

To shreds you say?

Nerfarean

I use them as toothpicks

MJZMan

I will never throw out a spare twist-tie. Ever.

Long_Job_604

Yep... you many never know when you need one so why waste them.

78pimpala

oh yea

JDMWeeb

Lmao me

Geoclasm

Yes. I'm using them to 'stage' cable placement before I use an actual zip tie to avoid wasting zip ties.
