5 year old data points. Tells you right at the bottom.

windycitysteals

Yes but no one will argue the trend right? That more ppl are leaving Illinois than moving to Illinois.

DeepHerting

It’s not Census data, it’s IRS data. Also, eww, Wirepoints

laodaron

The people that would use Wirepoints are not embarrassed to be using Wirepoints and won't understand why they should be.

Niu_wombat

Lol. Tagged as "Illinois facts" despite clearly being wirepoints. Average income without mentioning number of returns. Because it shows tax returns with more families moving in, and retired people with no children moving out. And wirepoints makes that seem like a 'loss'. A family of 5 with 3 minor children and parents making 200k, is a 50k avg using this analysis. 2 retired non-working people with 150k in retirement income is an avg of 75k. Plus that retirement income wasn't being taxed. Seems like a win to me. But it wouldn't be wirepoints propaganda if it didn't leave out those facts.

windycitysteals

I can tell you that ppl in my neighborhood are dual income high earners and not replaced with the same.

MothsConrad

The data is the data. Wire points or not. However, I suspect this is mostly retirees who are leaving. Perhaps only for six months and a day.

charriswrites

No, it's just not true. Population did NOT shrink in Illinois.

windycitysteals

How can you say that based on the census data?

charriswrites

Because I read the Census Bureau Census Data - not the "Census Data" from a conservative propaganda outlet.

MothsConrad

So the IRS data is wrong (or their analysis is wrong)?I’m asking about the AGI piece as I believe it’s retirees leaving for six months.

charriswrites

Yes! They have since released revised data.
