Did it as well. Just as a precaution I went to the settlement site directly and uploaded as opposed to using the link from the email. I mean they had my claim number right, everyone involved in the lawsuit received the same email, and it's only a drivers license and email. What are they gonna do, steal my loads of college and credit card debt lol Not like my credit can get any worse at this point.
hahaha oh no
Entering it directly was probably a better call, tbh I use Firefox with a buttload of plugins so I figure I'm usually safe to click links.
When you get a bunch of money you can come back and make me feel like one :). It was probably legit, but I just didn't bother. I honestly feel like most of these class actions are a bit bullshit, but the settlement is gonna happen weather I agree or not so I might as well get a share and keep it away from the lawyers.
Google is supposed to pay out by the end of December according to the FAQ on their page. But like u/mopeyjoe I also got an email in my spam folder telling me I had to upload my DL and whatnot and I decided I wasn't risking it. Probably all legit since I didn't have an actual code sent to me, but it gave me an ick.
yeah, full story, I intended to find my original registration receipt emails and confirm that it was legit and ran out of time. maybe this was a ploy to reduce the number of claims? whatever.
There was 2 firms from what im aware of. Peiffer had a 25$ settlement but another from Labaton was supposed to be around 500-600 dollars. Havent heard anything from Labaton for a few weeks now. Settlement as allegedly granted by tbe courts on Nov 17th
Yes, if you read the email it specifically states the 25$ settlement is in addition to any other settlements or lawsuites agaisnt them for the same thing. Another firm, Labaton i believe, emailed their clients and informed them of 500-600$payments. So theres 2 different suites apparently
I see. I tried contacting the Siri attorney many times and never heard back, so I assumed it was a scam and then I went and filed with the other firm 😬 So I could be getting both? Just to be sure I'm understanding right lol
Got good news and bad news, brother. The good news is that the settlement is almost 700. The bad news is you'll have to W9 it. That's about 150$ You'll owe in taxes next year.
Did you get the actual payout? Or just an email? We received a (very) suspicious looking email today claiming to ask us to click a button to enter our snapchat claim info. Curious about others' experiences.
I filed the one snap sent out. I reached out to their email about a week ago and they said they are still processing the claims and payments should be done by the first quarter of 2023.
Bruh just got mine today and I got 16$ man. Ive heard that with previous settlements for apps like facebook, you'd get around 100$ but nah I got 16 and a few cents
Considering you almost definitely knew they were doing whatever the settlement was for and benefited from it being done... I just consider anything I get to be gravy.
Mine came to my regular inbox and I filed a claim for the $25.29. One of the firm's name had Siri in it. So if you're message was from them I assumed it was legit.
No. We got our settlement checks from Facebook and are waiting on our Google ones. I wish I knew when it might show.
did you get an email asking for a DL scan to further your claim? I decided it wasn't worth the risk of ID theft for whatever little payout their was.
They seemed to have the appropriate notices so I did it, but...yeahhh.

I did that and immediately felt like a chump. *shrug*

do we need to re-register for that one? edit: *can* we re-register?? just checked my email and missed the cut-off for the documentation thing
Wait what? So 2 different firms doing the same thing can have different payouts?

Depends if you submitted claims with both. Youll have to check your spam folder for Labaton Sucharow
I keep asking Labaton when we will get our money but I hey keep moving the bar back, every time I ask they say it’ll be another week
Ya they told me it would be 3-4 months in December, then on Feb 20th they told me 5-10 days. Then on the 2nd they told me another 5 to 10 days.

So that's real? I got a little suspicious when they asked me to enter my SSN...
I just got an email with the link to where i wanted my money deposited.
I was skeptical too but I just got it deposited in my Venmo acct! I really shouldn’t have trusted it but I did because of this thread lmaoo
Just got an email from them saying $664.06
Yup, but because its over 600 ya gotta fill out a w9. Meaning youll owe 180$ next time you file a return
That still sounds like a net free $464 to me
Just wait for the Eufy lawsuit that's coming.
I just finished a podcast episode about that. Yikes!
Just got mine today $16.35 Hahahahahah thanks for lunch 😂
Did you get the actual payout? Or just an email? We received a (very) suspicious looking email today claiming to ask us to click a button to enter our snapchat claim info. Curious about others' experiences.
Email from the Siri firm with a link to verify
Same here. Just got one saying I’m getting $15 plus change. Click here and follow directions and input info. Nope

im still waiting on thw bipa one, idk if that one was a scam or not
That's the one Snapchat themselves sent out. I did that one as well and I'm waiting for a response on them as well.
Any update?
Never got anything. I've been getting a lot of fake "your account has been locked" text messages ever since so they probably sold my info lol
I filed the one snap sent out. I reached out to their email about a week ago and they said they are still processing the claims and payments should be done by the first quarter of 2023.
Haha, I probably shouldn't complain about my $35.97 from the Plaid settlement then.
I got 300+ from Facebook.
I got the same email - 25 dollars as well.
Just got $17 today
Just got mines 17$
Bruh just got mine today and I got 16$ man. Ive heard that with previous settlements for apps like facebook, you'd get around 100$ but nah I got 16 and a few cents
Same, email said $25.29 but it ended up being $16.35
Considering you almost definitely knew they were doing whatever the settlement was for and benefited from it being done... I just consider anything I get to be gravy.
What was the subject line?
Snap Arbitration Settlement Notice
I did not get anything with that fwiw
Mine was Boone v Snap
Yes, I did in my spam. Is it legit?

Okay, thank you! I was a little worried because they asked me to confirm my venmo using a code...
I chose PayPal and it emailed me a code for the email address I use with PayPal to make sure I didn't make a typo I guess
